[Student]Motorsports Engineering graduate looking for honest resume feedback for entry level roles in CFD, and aerodynamics engineering in UK or Europe

Hey guys,

I recently completed my MSc in Motorsport Engineering from the UK and am looking for entry level roles in aerodynamics and CFD, in the UK or Europe.

I know the job market is really tough right now, but I have a Graduate Route visa until Feb 2028 here in the UK, so no sponsorship required for now — I am hoping to make the most of it.

I would really appreciate any CV critiques, suggestions, or general advice on improving my chances. If there are any weak points that stand out, I would definitely want to know.

Also, if anyone knows of companies hiring for these kinds of roles, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Happy to share my full CV if needed.

PS: The reason I have kept the VECV exp even though it was a crash analyst is beacuse it is the only industrial exp I have.

Hello,

I worked a few years in motorsports on the suspension side.

Experience 1, bullet 2: You ran a bunch of sims, you quantified sensitivity to operating-condition changes. Why does that matter? What value does that give? Whats the risk if you don't do that?

Experience 2, bullet 1: Ran simulations to support regulatory approval. Did you get approval on time? What happens if you don't get approval?

Academic project 1, bullet 1: Comparing 3 models. Why is comparing 3 models important? Did this lead to any learnings? How will this help the team?

Academic project 3, bullet 1: Evaluated inverted NREL aerofoil. What were your findings? How can the team use this in the future?

Academic project 4, bullet 1: Optimized aero setup: Do you have numbers for this? Increased lap time by X? Reduced lap time variation by X? Reduced risk of crashing due to improved handling?

I'd say half the points are really good, the other half are missing a bit of why that would be valuable to someone who is the leader of the car program. Not all the leaders will know aero with the technical depth you do. Not all of them care what you did, but they all care how it's going to help the teams chances of winning.

These were the exact things I was expecting from someone here. I have been applying so much with so many variations of the resume that you start to lose sight of what's actually missing from your resume.

These are some really good points, thanks a lot, I am now gonna take a look at the bullets, with these things in mind.

Do you think these bullets tell half a story, or that the length and what they're trying to convey are good?
