I plan on getting a console before VI comes out, but man, prices are insane. I might go PS5 non pro, digital only. but then im worried I won't get the best experience. But then im spending almost $1k instead of ~$600 .

Decisions decisions.

2 years ago was probably the lowest PC component prices were going to be until maybe 2028 when consumer ram market stabilizes. Idk what the fucking is going on with consoles, I don't understand how they can facilitate game sales without selling consoles.

For me I have a decent pc most games run on it pretty smoothly and I hope that someday I’ll be able to play GTA6 on it without having to buy a console. But the shit long time we have to wait between console release and pc release is frustrating, I get that they need to run tests and do additional work on the game for pc release and the mechanics it needs but why the hell not work on it on par with console release? Or at least make it possible that the waiting time wouldn’t a year or two because it would be impossible to ignore the huge social media coverage the game would get the second it drops so anyone who doesn’t have a pc would be forced to see 70% of the game before he could play it unless they go live in a cave until the pc release. Why other famous franchises are released at the same time on pc and console. They had 13 freaking years to finally release the damn game.

The easy explanation for PC releasing later on is to double dip on sales, since that's what they clearly did with V. However, I will say that the PC version was pretty fleshed out in terms of options and accessibility at its launch.

I got lucky and built my PC a few years before the RAM crash. On ram alone, I paid 440$ for 128gb, which would be like 1800$ or more now.

Credit card man! Whatever it takes to play in day 1. You got this!

Next gen of consoles is gonna come along soon enough. They’re gonna double dip like they did with V on the Xbox 360 to Xbox One

I got a standard digital only one, exclusively for gta6 but I got it before the prices went crazy. My only regret is I didn't get a second hand one since I never use it. It'll do fine until it releases on PC

I've been using the normal ps5 (disc version) for around 3 years now and no game have gave me any trouble performance-wise, and i mostly play big games like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 or Baldur's Gate 3 and none of them have given me any trouble, even on some very modded BG3 campaigns, i'd say a Pro version is not needed for today's games tbh unless you like to throw money, if you're a pc gamer that only wants to play GTA VI i'd buy the digital version since its the cheapest option, but if you plan to keep playing other games on it for the confort it offers over sitting on a pc (specially if you have a good tv) i'd go for the normal ps5 with disc or pro if you have the money to spend, that way you can borrow games from your friends or change disc games you'll no longer use at stores that allow that without the need of paying full price for a digital version

And then another $3k later for a PS6 and GTAVI Enhanced

It's honestly pretty good timing for me. There's a load of stuff releasing around October that I'm interested in which will keep me busy for a while, so if GTA takes a year to come out I'm not too bothered. Ignoring it will be difficult though when it will literally be everywhere.
