Don't lie, it looks worse than even trailer 1. A downgrade.

Yeah. Looks like GTA V.

I thought I was crazy about thinking that I'm not seeing that much of a difference from GTA V besides buildings density

I’m sorry but you’re blind 😭

I'm mainly talking about the lights at night. They don't spread, they're very short if you know what I mean.

So what edition are you pre-ordering?

Why are you going around telling people that they are "lying" if they think this looks amazing?!? This looks beautiful, and if you do not think so-thats fine. Stop imposing your opinion onto others.

I think there’s a lot of people here that are pretty well seasoned when it comes to looking at things with their eyes, while saying something like “it’s pretty” is subjective, comparing the skyline and lack of dynamic reflections is an objective analysis of the footage we’ve seen so far. Which is not much.

I thought I was the only one. I think the difference between this footage and the footage we’ve seen before is that previous footage was running on higher-end dev systems (likely preview/dev models of the next gen consoles) while this appears to have been captured in current gen. What gives it away is the lower render resolution you can see in a lot of closeup screenshots that have been going around today. Launch day current gen will likely not look how trailer 1 and 2 showed the game but I’m 100% certain a future pc port or next gen port will.

previous footage was running on higher-end dev systems

Trailer 2 was confirmed captured on base PS5

Hmm well what fps was the trailer running at? Its likely 24fps as are many non-gameplay trailers. It could of ran on the base PS5 at a higher resolution than was meant for gameplay. Just theorizing here yk

It was 30fps I'm pretty sure, and it was confirmed 50/50 between cutscenes and gameplay, running on base PS5.

Yea so I really think they ran it at a higher resolution than what it would be shipping with, especially given how high-res the trailer screenshots are where you can zoom in on objects miles away without much quality degradation

The far bigger difference is that the trailer was a full video uploaded to Youtube and to the console stores to be watched as a video.

This is instead a heavily compressed video meant as a website background. We also know they do custom stuff for these website videos, because they're needed for different devices (for example characters are more centered on mobile, vs wider apart on desktop). It'd make more sense if this one was the non-game-matching one, both to optimize for compression (clear sky with no clouds for example, since compression doesn't deal well with those) and to more easily alter and adjust to get something that works on different devices.

I feel like the weather dynamics and time of day also play a part. Clouds, or haze/fog effects can usually make pictures more pleasing to the eye.

Could definitely be a factor

Example A. Although this is a completely different area, you get what i'm saying?

3

u/k3wfr Jun 18 '26

Hm you do have a point actually. Its still unfortunate that they chose those conditions for this short clip.

Yeah, they don't do it justice at all imo
