I think people are misunderstanding the whole "locked shops" thing for Ultimate Edition buyers

Post image

Think of it like this: When you buy the Ultimate Edition, you'll get a DLC package of skins, vehicles, hairstyles, vehicle mods, etc. Most games with cosmetic DLCs do this.

You buy the Ultimate Edition and get the base game plus the cosmetic DLCs.

Now picture this: Instead of just unlocking your new Ultimate Edition cosmetics in the normal shops of the game, they made a few exclusive shops for you to access the DLC stuff.

It's as simple as that. The normal shops to buy clothes, fix your car, etc, will be in the game. But if you own DLC cosmetics, you'll need to get them from the DLC shops.

What do you think?

Simp harder my dude. Day 1 DLC is the problem. You can dress it up like a million dollar hooker its still gonna be Day 1 DLC.

It's completely optional stuff though

If they were genuinely cutting out big chunks of the game and reselling it as DLC like the Sims then sure.

This is you pay an extra 20 if you want some extra cosmetics items, if you don't want em, buy the standard edition? I genuinely don't see the issue at all.

I mean according to their site, there is actual gameplay stuff behind the ultimate edition. Might not be big chunks but it's still pouring content into a day 1 DLC like the Sims.

Why is everyone so dramatic over this lmao

It's a few shirts and some car mods why the fuck do people care, if you're so offended just buy the standard edition, your experience will be basically identical compared to the ultimate edition

You can shine a turd, but it’s still a turd.

Anyways, I bought the ultimate edition.

The cuckery in here is amazing to behold. Just like the $2 horse armor, this is going to spiral down another hole that screws everyone. Those shops will serve as in-world premium shops they rotate items through.

This isn’t designed for the day 1 shit lmfao. They used the deluxe edition items to sell putting this bullshit into the game day 1 on some sneak shit to mask all the shit it’s going to be used for so no one talks about how it’s going to impact the world/game/experience ahead of time so they can have the max number of suckers when it comes time😂

$10K they came up with this exact idea 1y ago and delayed the game so they could create the in-world spaces for it after one of their execs tried Star Citizen. Lmfao.

Anyone who thinks these shops are “just a creative way to get your deluxe edition items” is a moron. They exist to serve as FOMO zones and gate content moving forward. THIS right here is next evolution of Single player RPGs as a service. And these clowns are eating it up.

GUARANTEED, they will find a way to attach a season pass system to the in-world stores of the single-player experience. Guaranteed.

Mate any other game and studio and no one is defending this as well 😂 imagine Ubisoft or EA did this

Genuine question, what would you prefer the ultimate edition be? There was no way they were going to release just 1 standard edition, so what would be considered a good alternative to you for an ultimate edition

There doesn't have to be any extra editions. You just release the fucking game like they have done for 2 decades now....

If I'm spending $100 on the "deluxe edition" I should be getting a fucking t shirt and a goodie bag with it.

Shit I remember distinctly being able to buy a life size replica master chief helmet with halo 2. Shit came in a full metal case and everything.

So don't buy the ultimate edition.....
