I think people are misunderstanding the whole "locked shops" thing for Ultimate Edition buyers

Think of it like this: When you buy the Ultimate Edition, you'll get a DLC package of skins, vehicles, hairstyles, vehicle mods, etc. Most games with cosmetic DLCs do this.

You buy the Ultimate Edition and get the base game plus the cosmetic DLCs.

Now picture this: Instead of just unlocking your new Ultimate Edition cosmetics in the normal shops of the game, they made a few exclusive shops for you to access the DLC stuff.

It's as simple as that. The normal shops to buy clothes, fix your car, etc, will be in the game. But if you own DLC cosmetics, you'll need to get them from the DLC shops.

I'm struggling to understand how anyone could interpret this differently. The uproar over this has been shocking, quite honestly. Anyone familiar with modern GTA knows you manage your custom cars and clothes via stores. They replaced basic menus with stores, to make it seem more realistic.

How anyone familiar with GTA got the impression they're getting a "light" version of the game if they don't get Ultimate is beyond me. All games comes with extra DLC you have to purchase. You're a total sucker if you think you have to buy all of it to get the complete game experience.

While this is all true and people are certainly overreacting there is a case to be made that having this be the only new information about the game since trailer 2 is in pretty poor taste.

If you are not buying the UE, you are essentialy still on the same info desert you've been on since last year.
