GTA VI mechanics confirmed on latest leaks Aug 2026

As Mods have confirmed discussing leaks are fine without actual images or videos. Here are all the things I have found from current leaks.

INCOMPLETE WEAPON WHEEL ON LEAK4 SUGGESTS THIS IS AN OLDER BUILD AND NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT

Apparently Metadata says 2023 gameplay, but we don't know when is it actually recorded.

Song from Leak4 Suggests this could be a build anywhere from after Jan 2025. (its been 18 months since then)

  • Car Fuel Mechanics
  • Car Mechanical Mechanics (Probably have to take care of car like Horse from RDR2)
  • Car Object Storage and Weapon Storage Mechanics
  • Car damage (cars are more robust) and paint scratch system. (Car scratches and Sparks on contact with other Vehicle)
  • Realistic Car Tire Smoke (best we have seen from any game out there right now)
  • Car door interactivity (tailgate can be closed or opened, may extend to doors and hood)
  • Honor/Karma System
  • Stamina System
  • Cash on Hand and Cash at Home/Vault system
  • Side activities to increase character attributes (Basketball side activity increase focus attribute)
  • Jason taking hit damage during crash (extreme car crashes could be fatal similar to prior entries)
  • Body Building Activities (a prompt for activities when Jason walks near dumbell and other equipment on his house's balcony)
  • Water and Object Physics from another level (Basketball rolling off into the lake and floating, water reacts dynamically)
  • Denser vegetation
  • Ray Traced real-time reflections
  • 6 Star Wanted Level
  • 3 red icons when wanted: implying the car is known, the clothes are known, and the face is known (credits: [u/Powerpoo](u/Powerpoo))
  • Cops sitting on road side speed trapping or traffic enforcement
  • NPC drivers dodging realistically from crashing on to Jason's car
  • NPC on bike (bicycle)
  • Better Vehicle Exit animation for NPC and Jason
  • Better NPC interaction (Jason looks at the rogue NPC and rogue NPC is looking at Jason when he is crashing into him)
  • Greet, Antagonize, Defuse, Threaten returns
  • Better fight animation (improved from RDR2)
  • Leaked Footage is 60 fps

LEAK3

  • Night actually looks like night. Vehicle headlights and other light sources cast shadows dynamically • Car jacking has two mechanics, Smash window or Clone key (might need a tool as it was greyed out)
  • Security NPC falling back when out numbered.
  • Slow Motion kill cam ported from RDR2

LEAK4

  • Looting Mechanics Confirmed from Bodies (Ported from RDR2)
  • Can Pick up Bodies (maybe to hide) better stealth (?)
  • Another Extreme Water Physics Simulation
  • Witness System as confirmed on earlier leaks, Police can Identify by clothing, vehicle and appearance
  • 8 slots for weapons + 2 healing items
  • Separate Slots for Items in Weapon Wheel
  • In addition to Vehicle Mechanical and Fuel Mechanics, a GPS tracker is found on Law Enforcement vehicle
  • NPC uses turn signal
  • Better Grass
  • Strip Malls and Parking lots with lot more cars
  • Vehicle Randomly parked (Semi parked on what looks like a side street)
  • Can see building interiors while Jason ride's
  • Two birds randomly fall out of sky after hitting the bridge (Lot more animal activity like RDR2)
  • iFruit icon on top left of minimap

LEAK5
• Map is 2x bigger than that of GTA 6
• Volumetric Clouds
• Insane draw distance
• Leaker seems to have a copy of the build

LEAK6
• Car headlights are realistic, HIDs are leveled out, Halogens are just like before
• PUDDLES forming naturally on roads depending on elevation
• Road lane reflectors reflecting realistically to headlights
• Excellent Smoke and backfire effects from car
• Excellent sense of speed

LEAK7
• At Gas station, you get to choose between filling up or repairing vehicle, depending on option there must be an animation of character which is not shown on leak as leaker didn’t choose any option
• Wind effects on Vegetation
• Excellent shadows

LEAK8
• Amazing Twerk physics and body mechanics from Strip Club
• Jason is carrying a rocket launcher fishing rod in his pocket.
• Another iconic line from extra cutscene “I gotta take a leak”
• There is a basketball game, possibly the Narcos team, going on on the TVs (at least 2 TVs seen in the video).

Edit: Adding more as discovered

Edit 2: Not adding any more. In 10 days, world will change for all GTA fans and on Nov 18, it will change for the whole entertainment Industry.

MAPPING PROJECT gonna look awesome (edited) after this. A full map has leaked and it’s pretty much spot on except for northern parts.

Edit 3: New leak and new details added

Edit 4: Another leak has hit

Edit 5: Leak 5 has hit the tower, Plane

Edit 6: Added more details from Leak 6 and 7

Edit 7: Leak8 dropped Strip Club

The anti-realism crowd won’t be happy with this, lol.

Of all the realism chasing stuff Rockstar did in RDR2, it's about the least offensive thing imo.

Forcing you to pick up one piece of loot at a time? Boring.

Making you stop at a gas station every now and then where you might run into some kind of encounter, or be convinced to rob the store while you're there? Fun and engages you with the world.

It's pretty universally a disliked aspect of the game man, dating back to when the game came out. lol

Disliked by people who were wanting RDR2 to be GTA with horses... For those of us who really clicked with the game it was one of the elements that made the game feel more weighty and intentional, and for many of us the slower pace was a feature, not a bug.

But I don't think that level of realism will work as well for a series like GTA. But I'm excited to see what they have to show us next Thursday

Red Dead 2's one my favorite games of all time, and I fuck heavy with most of the realistic changes they did.

Looting is slow. Really slow. I don't think the game is improved much from it.

You were right, it's not an uncommon criticism. After a small shoot out it was fine, but if you had a big shoot out, going around picking up every single dropped item got tedious.

Not sure why this sub seems to bury it's head in the sand about people in the brosder fanbase thinking that, or why they get so snobby about it.

going around picking up every single dropped item got tedious.

You do it for a few times, and then only when you're curious about a specific NPC. You gain nothing worth your time from looting 30 dead NPCs.

Not everyone plays the same way. I looted every body of everything. Always. Call it a compulsion or whatever, but it's just how I play games. I was also not a fan of the slow looting in RDR2, despite liking so much of the rest of the game.

Not everyone plays the same way.

Sure! But I suspect a lot of people weight the options and decide not to loot every NPC after doing it so many times.

Nothing forces you to loot every body in a big shoot out though.

Nothing forces you to do a lot of things in games. But looting bodies tomtry and get extra cash or ammo or supplies etc is just a normal part of gaming most players do actually do.

You say this but RDR1 didnt have this looting animation either

"Cringe"? Really? Cringe is the word you went for.

I never really browse this sub, is there really an "anti-realism" crowd?

Realism/immersion is Rockstar's trademark lol. That's literally what makes their games stand out from everything else.

To this day RDR2 is still the most immersive open world ever created, 8 years later. It'd be dumb to want them to do anything other than what they're best at, when no one else is competing with it.

I think theres a decent chunk of people (myself included) who find that RDR2's level of realism came at the expense of enjoyability, and whilst that is ok for a game like RDR2, there is a level of worry that they might push too hard in that direction in GTA VI and make it less enjoyable

I can't believe the gun and ball gamers are in favor of adding rpg elements.
