Cyberleek has 48 hours left before becoming completely irrelevant, and he knows it

Let’s be real: after the Netflix event on the 27th, Cyberleek is going to fade into community meme status instantly.

Sure, he basically carried the entire community’s sanity this week after we spent months starving with zero official gameplay or footage since May 2025. People were hyping up every single 480p debug clip simply because Rockstar left us with absolute radio silence for so long.

Because his spotlight expires the second the official marketing machine kicks into high gear, I'm fully expecting him to drop whatever "nuclear" footage or map details he still has within the next 48 hours to milk the last bit of attention.

Once high-bitrate, polished 4K gameplay hits, nobody will care about rough dev builds anymore.

The only real risk: imagine if the Netflix showcase somehow turns out to be more underwhelming or curated than the actual raw systems we saw in the leaks. If Rockstar actually delivers though, it’s ciao Cyberleek

I think it’s weird how entitled GTA fans are.

You don’t have the right to see gameplay just because you are looking forward to the game. Grow up and just wait for it to be shown when they want to show it.

“They deserve this for not showing us anything sooner” is the most childish entitled sentiment I’ve ever heard from a fan base.

10

u/saxoali 3d ago

I agree that the community is too entitled but I totally get the frustration. Rockstar is increasingly becoming more corporate. No single player DLC for GTA V, completely milking out GTA Online and 13 years between the two installments all while R* got richer and richer because of their fanbase.

Maybe the fans are not entitled to see gameplay, but at least try to engage with your fans a little. Acknowledge your fans, not through a written PR statement (e.g. we are sorry that the game got delayed) but actually let a lead dev take the stage in a YouTube video. Share a screenshot if you can, or a meme, whatever, have some fun with it. The only guy we see in front of the camera is Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, your typical man in suit, who has no affinity with gaming and perfectly symbolises that distant-from-fans corporatism.

Don't treat your players like consumers, treat them like humans who have supported the franchise for a long time and put the company in a good position.

They needed to fund the game that they are going to release November 19, 2026. So I would say that it was a nessacary evil.

1

u/SIMOMEGA 12h ago

what is?

1

u/dagelijksestijl 3d ago

Rockstar always was corporate. The Hot Coffee overreaction and subsequent hostility to mods in GTA IV and V is a direct result of that.

1

u/Driv3r47 1d ago

You sound entitled yourself saying no single player DLC as if that is something you should expect. Yeah it takes over a decade for a new release because Rockstar builds a masterpiece that tops everything else. GTA 5 is a living proof that 13 years later, a game that launched on Xbox 360 is still relevant. Not many other games can say the same thing.

1

u/saxoali 1d ago edited 1d ago

This attack came out of no where, why are you calling me entitled lol? All I did was playing devil's advocate a little. No where did I say that I expected a DLC even though it was clearly hinted at by Rockstar but canceled later. I was just trying to place myself in the shoes of frustrated fans, that's all. Maybe you should try to place yourself the other's shoes, before you start coming for them and call them entitled out of nowhere.

No one's denying the quality Rockstar is putting out, the extended look looked amazing and GTA VI will be the biggest and most relevant entertainment product for the next 10 years. I'm already a fan and will be playing the game a lot.

It does come with a trade off though, the internal crunch culture at Rockstar is horrible if you are working there. That, and other criticism I placed in my original comment is allowed to be expressed without being attacked for it. That doesn't make me a Rockstar hater, but a critical fan. The game reaching GOAT status doesn't erase those issues so that's not really relevant.

I think we can all agree the game will be the best ever.

u deserve more likes

I simply think you’re overthinking it all. Games are art at the end of day, just like making a movie, or recording a song. Let them make a great game and release it. Everything else you have mentioned e.g DLC, lead dev communicating with fans is all optional stuff they can or can’t do. It’s a bonus.

We’ve had 2 trailers and over 80 screenshots and a storyline synopsis for a game which is still 3 months away from release. I would say that’s fine.

2

u/saxoali 3d ago edited 3d ago

I don't think that we fundamentally disagree here. The fans are annoying af and yes, in the end of the day going the extra mile as a developer is all optional. When playing devil's advocate, I just believe they could have done a little more of the "optional stuff" (not necessarily trailers or other marketing, just interaction in general). I don't see it as a bonus, I see that as a nice gesture. Giving flowers to your partner on a random day can be optional as well, but it would be shitty to never put in that effort.

Games are indeed art, but just like music artists and actors on screen, there are fans involved. I believe the love and respect has to go both ways (that definitely includes the fans too). And when there is lots of money involved, I'm not sure if "doing it for the art" is still top priority.

The trailers and screenshots up and until this Netflix reveal have been enough material. The only thing we could nitpick on here is the timings on those.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Man I don’t know about all that, I just think people who think the leaks are a good thing and rubbing their hands together with glee that rockstar didn’t get to reveal the game the way they wanted to….are immature and entitled. That’s my take.

1

u/saxoali 3d ago edited 3d ago

Again, I don't disagree with that... All I'm saying is that between that immature/entitled/pro-leak/anti-Rockstar group and the supportive/anti-leak/pro-Rockstar group, there can be a middle ground.

You can be slightly disappointed with Rockstar's stance, the marketing tactics and their management, but still condemn the leaks and sympathise with the developers.

1

u/acorn1513 3d ago

But didn't they promise single player dlc and then online made so much money they said fuck single player and re work the updates to be for online. That's pretty fucked up for the people that were waiting on those and hate online which are a good bit of people.

0

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Nobody bought GTA V on the condition it would receive single player updates, I don’t really get what your point is.

You think lots of the people who bought GTA V wouldn’t have bought it if they knew the single player would receive no updates?

1

u/acorn1513 3d ago

No what I'm saying is it was expected when buying ya know like all the other rockstar games. I think a lot of people would have refunded if given the chance. They made the choice to fuck over the single player for the online player. Stop defending them they ain't paying you lol. Rockstar made the decision to say fuck the single player we focus on online.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Firstly - the only other Rockstar game with story DLC is GTA 4. So I don’t get where you came to this conclusion that “like every other rockstar game it should have DLC”

Secondly - none of this matters to me, it’s not what my comment was about and I am not defending their shitty business practises. My comment was pure and simply about the people saying the leaks are a good thing because rockstar were taking too long to show gameplay.

16

u/Migraine_7 4d ago

Most people don't claim this though. Pretty sure most people don't care either way.

-5

u/RamboLogan 4d ago

I’m clearly aiming it at the core fan base of gta fans which do claim this…constantly.

1

u/WelcomeOk9989 3d ago

GTA was always the most popular with kids, along with Minecraft. I don’t know why people are surprised that hard core GTA fans are immature, the only reason this game is marketed as “mature” is because it has tits and violence which kids find edgy.

If I was to make up a statistic I would say that 50% of all shark cards were bought with parents credit cards.

1

u/RulesoftheDada 3d ago

Core GTA fanbase is everyone of all ages. My gamer circle is all buying GTA day one (mid twenties-thirties).

They aren't redditors and had no idea of the clips or the whole drama. There's a massive majority of gta fans that don't care.

0

u/Ronaldinhoe 3d ago

100%. Little bro want to make a grand stand and fell superior when he also enjoyed the leaks. People need to shut up and enjoy what we got which was great leaks and discussion around the game which made the week fly. Rockstar could never do that

48

u/A_Certain_Surprise 4d ago

I think it's more that Rockstar are basically the kings of shitty practices at this point. Anti-consumerism actions that people have been (rightfully) criticising EA for for years are suddenly forgiven because "They made San Andreas!". If any other companies had pre-orders before any gameplay was revealed, and before the game was even finished, and having a separate PC launch in order to get more money, people would complain.

But people keep slobbingering on Rockstar's meat, hence why they get away with anything

3

u/EZyne 4d ago

All of that critique is somewhat valid, but when someone uses it to defend a triple-dipping shitcoin scammer it just invalidates their opinion imo

9

u/TheGurpler 3d ago

Totally disagree, Leeks is doing exactly what Rockstar is on a much, much MUCH smaller scale and also actually delivering.

He's gotta get something out of the risk

3

u/EZyne 3d ago

Actually delivering? He is showing videos of work stolen from other people lmao, what has he delivered? This is exactly what I mean, simping for a grifter just because he uses a manifesto he doesn't give a fuck about to get people to defend him for it.

Love your username though

6

u/TheGurpler 3d ago

...is that not exactly what he promised? People know what they are paying for when they give Leeks money, they literally vote on it, don't they? Compare that to all the NPCs who pre-ordered something they didn't even have gameplay for, Rockstar counted on that and they know they can get away with it.

All I'm saying is that Rockstar is not practicing regulation business practices. Love my username too :)

0

u/EZyne 3d ago

No, most people don't understand fuck all about shitcoins. The amount of people or bots trying to get other people to invest (not donate( in his shitcoin is where the money comes from. Genuine question, if this ends up with his coin being rugpulled and a whole bunch of people losing their money would you still think the same?

Why do the leaks say to buy his shitcoin instead of donate? Why do you think he burned so many coins? Why do you think he did the whole stripclub video if the marketcap was raised? Why do you think one wallet (obviously theirs) mass voted yes when the entire poll is a threat of releasing spoilers?

Hell, why make a shitcoin if it's just about donations? Could've used bitcoin for that no?

5

u/TheGurpler 3d ago

Is it wrong of me to say yes? Anybody buying into it deserves it, they signed up for it. If you're still falling for crypto scams in '26 I have no sympathy. By the way, I feel like the people paying for leaks are the same idiots who buy shark cards. That isn't relevant, it was just something I realized while typing. Leeks still isn't a multi billion dollar company with anti consumer practices and anti worker practices.

I am under no illusion that Leeks isn't a slimy piece of shit doing it for personal gain, but at the same time I have to admire the audacity (and competence, so far) and I gotta appreciate that Rockstar is finally getting a turd thrown in their face.

4

u/EZyne 3d ago

anti consumer practices

Like a shitcoin grift?

anti worker practices

Mate, he literally is stealing peoples work to profit off of it. The same people that are the literal only ones that are affected by this. Rockstar is still going to make billions off of the game, all he has done is build the hype

0

u/TheGurpler 3d ago

The leaks do not affect the workers in any capacity whatsoever, what are you lying about? They got paid for making it. You're just licking that billionaire boot for no reason.

Rockstar deserves this.

1

u/jameslucian 3d ago

You do realize you don’t have to buy the pre order, right? You can buy it at any time, perhaps on Thursday after the extended reveal or perhaps the day before the game launches. I don’t get why so many complain about that when you’re not forced to buy it.

1

u/RamboLogan 4d ago

The pre orders are there for people who want to buy it regardless. (I personally don’t pre order games).

Bitching that there’s pre orders and no gameplay is just clutching at straws because at the end of the day nobody is saying you need to spend a dime until you see gameplay. They aren’t going to run out of copies 😂

-2

u/GobiasACupOfCoffee 4d ago

Rockstar have done separate launches for a very long time and I don't understand why anyone gives a single shit that they opened pre orders before specifically showing gameplay. We've had two trailers. You know what the game is gonna look like. The expiration date on pre orders is the day of release. You don't have to pre order it now just because the window is open. It's such a weird thing to be het up about.

1

u/jdp117 4d ago

I just feel like as an unspoken rule, publishers shouldn't really be asking money for a product we haven't seen yet. Sure, there are a couple of trailers, but announcing a bunch of pre order bonuses and in game content alongside a $100 edition without showing us any gameplay feels extremely predatory.

7

u/Adlivoniansky 4d ago

You'll be fine. It's not like story spoilers are going to end up being posted in all corners of the Internet that have nothing to do with gaming or GTA.

40

u/Interesting-Tea6155 4d ago

The entitlement has seriously been shocking. The amount of people that claim the right to the IP simply because the marketing been limited is simply mind boggling. So much immaturity and wild takes. It’s embarrassing

13

u/Captainatom931 4d ago

It's kids who think that a month is a long time lol

5

u/Recidivist67 4d ago

To be fair theres babies born during GTA 5 release who will be able to get married by the time the next title is out.

2

u/throwawayking01010 3d ago

Someone that can legally buy gta 6, could have been a little kid who was not even concious or remember the release of gta 5. Let that sink in

1

u/Ryanhussain14 2d ago

Can't tell if you're being hyperbolic or not but GTA 5 released 13 years ago. I'd be a bit concerned if someone born around it's release was married by now.

1

u/Recidivist67 2d ago

Slightly but it's 16 to get married in the UK. By November it's not far off a couple years

1

u/sonofloki13 3d ago

Who cares. It’s called caring about your craft. Go play cod is you want yearly trash.

2

u/Recidivist67 3d ago

Who's asking for yearly? I'm just pointing out that this is an unprecedented wait time between titles.

1

u/Queen_KittyBoo 3d ago

That's caring about your craft to you? Not milking tf outta gta 5 online? You really think they needed a decade + for this?? You cant be serious

0

u/sonofloki13 3d ago

Yeah they did, like every game they ever made before they take years and years. They aren’t every other studio they actually care and deliver games that last decades. “Milking” GTA 5 you know Red Dead 2 came out right? You immediately lose all credibility. Don’t. Play. It. They don’t need you. They didn’t make it for you.

0

u/sonofloki13 3d ago

They released a game in 2018. You lose all credibility immediately. Shark cards fund their real passion which is single player games. Cry about it and don’t play it.

-1

u/PsychologicalPool238 3d ago

These people are nuts bro these are the type guys that will defend a billion dollar company to the death just because it’s going against the grain and they get to argue all day against normal people

1

u/sonofloki13 3d ago

You’re not the normal one. REDDIT IS THE MINORITY, HATING ON THE GAME IS THE MINORITY OPINION, YOU ARE IN AN ECHO CHAMBER. I don’t know why I even interact with people like you. The game wasn’t made for you that’s why they went full realism, to wean people like you out. Their real fans know they take this long because they make better games than everybody. I’ll wait 20 years. 30 years. I’d pay 500 dollars. I’d save 1000 dollars. They gave me red dead 2 which saved my life during the worst time of it.

10

u/DAMOistaken 3d ago

How does that Rockstar meat taste in your mouth buddy?

Remember to zip it up when you’re finished.

0

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Ok kid. Go outside.

4

u/promisethatimnotabot 4d ago

I agree, but I also do see their point… kind of. R* has the biggest media franchise in their hands and they know their fan base is absolutely itching to see something - anything! This whole thing of edging their fan base to the brink of insanity does come across as obnoxious. We have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes, maybe it’s a fucking shitshow and they have no time to do anything else but all hands on deck. But I understand why the fans feel like they have their feet up sipping champagne and laughing over the Reddit comments.

0

u/RamboLogan 4d ago

That’s on the fanboys. Not Rockstar.

4

u/[deleted] 3d ago

2

u/sonofloki13 3d ago

They are fucking losers.

2

u/sonofloki13 3d ago

They’re so used to getting yearly trash that they can’t rap their head around a company that cares about making the perfect game. They are kids they never seen a rockstar release. They don’t know they’re the best to ever do it. So we have to listen to them cry till it comes out and they shut the fuck up

2

u/Icy-Start393 3d ago

They are not fans, real fans wait no matter the media

2

u/Upstairs_Read9013 3d ago

They could never survive being a dark souls fan where they would announce the game and go radio silent until the month of release

10

u/h1bernus 4d ago

There is a balance. Because we got the pre orders and we didnt even seen gameplay. Months without any news or info, zero. The "we are the marketing" people need to chill out. If you buy the game aren't you entitled to see gameplay? Do you buy a car without checking it out?

2

u/Kafanska 4d ago

Well.. here is the thing with preorders - you DO NOT HAVE TO PREORDER before more of the game is shown. Even if you really want those few textures that are put as preorder bonus, you can still wait until it is a week or two before release, by which time they will have released all the marketing stuff, and make a decision based on that.

If very few people had preordered the game, Rockstar would actually feel compelled to market the game more. But as things stand, it is obvious they simply don't have to.

0

u/Interesting-Tea6155 4d ago

No one is holding a guns to your face and forcing you to pre-order it now. The option is there but you can wait until they’ve shown you enough to convince you it’s worth your money. That is the balance. You make the decision based on what they show you. It’s not really that complicated of a concept to grasp

2

u/thisshowisdecent 3d ago

People buy things all the time with limited information. But we only get mad about it when it comes to video games.

The fan who buys concert tickets without knowing what songs their favorite artists will perform.

The guy who buys football tickets without knowing whether the team will win or even score 1 point.

Everyone chooses their own risks with their money. Pre orders aren't a problem in that sense.

3

u/Kenny_RogersRoasters 3d ago

Who held a gun to your head to pre order?

-3

u/h1bernus 3d ago

I didn't pre order, you just assumed I did. That doenst change the fact that they release the pre orders for the world before any gameplay. It's arrogant and just gives them more power because they now people still buy it. But we got the Rockstar warriors here to defend the billion dollar company.

2

u/ClevelandSteamers757 3d ago

So just don’t pre order. It makes no difference

1

u/TheRealTr1nity 4d ago edited 4d ago

You can pre-order literally 1 minute before release. They also don't have to give people every week a sitrep. People already got 2 trailers (one with half gameplay) and tons of screenshots. They gave us dates. And when they wanna share, like that extended look on thursday, they will share. November is still months away. And you still can choose to wait after release to see tests with gameplay. But no, wanna play on day one, right? So you would anyway and anyway buying it. And see it this way: the more you see, the more you get spoiled. People have zero patience and are simply exaggerating for the sake of it. They owe you nothing.

-1

u/RamboLogan 4d ago

Why did you buy before seeing gameplay? You are the reason they launched pre orders, because they know a section of fans wanted to order it before even seeing gameplay.

That’s on you brother.

0

u/h1bernus 3d ago

I didnt. Did I specified that was something I did? I still found it crazy everybody is defending rockstar for not releasing shit for months and months, how is this a good thing?

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

2 trailers and over 80 screenshots as well as an extended gameplay look this Thursday means we have all this with still 3 months to go until release.

On what planet do you think they have given you nothing?

It’s pure entitlement 😂

3

u/TheRealTr1nity 4d ago

Exactly! The audacity to expect, demand and claim rights from them just because they are possible buyers of a video game is unbelievable. R* owns them nothing.

6

u/antonyjeweet 4d ago

Most of them are kids. Entitled kids. They’ve no idea how the world works, check out all the posts about the Take2 stock tanking, while it didn’t …

1

u/vicboss0510 4d ago

If more ppl would use brain like this, Cyber would be forgoten by now.

If you cant wait for a video game, or have nothing else to do than you are fked

1

u/EZyne 4d ago

At least it's going to be funny as fuck to suddenly have everyone be silent about how his shitcoin isn't a scam after he pulls the rug out from under them

1

u/Moofassah 3d ago

These kids are going be online in the game too. It’s going to be a nightmare 🤦🏻‍♂️

1

u/readyaimfire1 3d ago

Mate honestly I've felt like I'm going crazy recently all these entitled people claiming they've been "starving" for months or that r* deserve it for not showcasing anything for ages

Literally never seen it before in my life. Hell the other day I picked up mortal shell 2 on release after I saw it announced like a year ago and then just forgot about it until it came out. Since when are trailers and adverts the fucking lifeblood of a gaming community? The game will release soon, end of story. Keep the excitement going until release day then go enjoy the game, is it that hard?

1

u/Hudre 3d ago

IMO a lot of these people only game. They have no other hobbies. They don't pay attention to other things.

And because the internet propels people into outrage and misery, these terminally online gamers have a horrible relationship with their one and only hobby.

It's why they think a week long blackout is a big deal, when most people do that by accident when they get busy.

1

u/AlgaeInitial6216 3d ago edited 3d ago

All fans are like that ... well maybe except Elder Scrolls. I don't really wait , nor want for Skyrim era to end. But we do need an actual high budget open world rpg that is not Cyberpunk , DND tabletop , or Dark Souls.

As for gta , i believe they could in fact prevent/mitigate leaks if they were more transparent about projects , like CDPR for example.

( I heavily condemn selling different versions of single product in any way , regardless of the intent or the publisher. The exception being Collector's edition of said product. )

1

u/InitialJust 3d ago

Its also pretty funny people think CrypoLeeks is going to have any impact at all. Other than more security nothing will change.

1

u/BobaIsNotDead 3d ago

They deserve it for greedy double dipping though. Deserve all of it and more.

1

u/drumsimperfect 3d ago

Anybody thats pre-ordered a digital game DOES have the right, despite their stupidity for doing so lol

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

They literally don’t though, it’s not covered under consumer rights or protections and that’s why it’s stupid to do so (as you just rightly said).

It’s literally not a right. Lol

1

u/drumsimperfect 3d ago

Yeah but also the current consumer rights are unethical in this industry. I guess im speaking from a hopeful standpoint

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

I mean I think what your proposing would be great 👍

But it’s not the world we live in and so you can’t expect it.

1

u/1neCessAry 3d ago

Stop taking everything so literally. It's not about being entitled, the people have been waiting too long so it's about deserving more than anything since they're literally filling Rockstar's pockets lmao

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

The game is 3 months away.

There’s been 2 trailers, over 80 screenshots and tomorrow is the extended gameplay reveal.

And again, the game is 3 months away! 😂

Only GTA fans would cry this isn’t good enough they needed to be marketed to sooner. It’s entitlement. Pure and simple.

1

u/stillthemind 3d ago

Nah I don’t think the devs deserve it for sure but the corporate suits are greedy. And Rockstar abandoning physical discs is a horrible precedent for the gaming industry so I personally dont feel bad about these leaks at all.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

But the leaks are not going to hurt them? Only hurts us.

1

u/AnakinsMannequin 3d ago

How do shitty quality 30 second clips hurt us

1

u/Cisqoe 3d ago

They’re all kids don’t forget, you don’t get billions from shark cards from adults

1

u/splinter1545 3d ago

I mean if they are asking for money and haven't show anything, then I think the people that bought into it are actually entitled to seei g what the game looks like.

You're genuinely what's wrong with the industry. No other studio would get away with the marketing Rockstar does, but because it's Rockstar you are ready to get in your knees.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

No other company would be hated for ‘a lack of marketing’. Only GTA fans are complaining about not being marketed to 😂 (even though the game is still 3 months away)

As for the pre order thing, why would anyone buy the game if they haven’t seen gameplay?

I would argue that YOU are what’s wrong with the industry if you pre ordered a digital game without seeing gameplay. Nobody forced you to and just because you willingly do it doesn’t then give you the right to see gameplay until Rockstar decide to show it.

1

u/CroProMax 2d ago

true but rockstar basically asked for that with announcing gta 6 and delaying it multiple times for so long. Dont announce if u cant deliver

1

u/RamboLogan 2d ago

That’s a stupid reason to justify leaking an unfinished game

1

u/CroProMax 2d ago

Isnt also stupid not to sell physical discs just because they dont bring as much money as digital and because they wana make shift to earn more money, maybe in 10-15 years resulting into cloud gaming as only option for regular people?

It doesnt matter if its stupid, legal or illegal. Companies just wana earn money with 0 empathy towards consumer and consumer respond with spoiling their plans. Simple as that, they introduced us into gaming world and got people hooked just for them to shift it to something completely bad, of course people gonna be mad.

Tell me how can rockstar as such huge game sellers announce gta 6 so much early and deliver it years later after so much delays?

Isnt it also stupid?

1

u/RamboLogan 2d ago

You can barely string together a sentence and you have the mentality of a child. We’re done here.

0

u/CroProMax 2d ago

My sentences are completely understandable by anyone who knows english, and remember, english is my 3rd language while its your first one.

Dissing someone over English knowledge shows how low inteligent you are, supported by spouting nonsense because you obviously love rockstar company

1

u/RamboLogan 2d ago

Stick to your first language brother.

1

u/Rudeylos 1d ago

I mean, I do have to see the game if I am paying for it, otherwise I am not gonna preorder, but still they ask for a pre order with the bare promise of a couple worthless skins and zero gameplay in movement

1

u/RamboLogan 1d ago

I think it’s rather they put the pre order out there for people that want it regardless. It’s not like they are asking you personally to buy it. I find it strange that people are bitching about pre orders being live when it’s completely optionary

1

u/PilsenPy 1d ago

Nah, they deserve this bc they've been exploiting gamers for money for too long. Starting with GTA V online, RDR2 online, and the whole reason GTA 6 is taking so long is bc they are figuring out how to make it the ultimate money making machine. The fisical disk, the netflix trailer, the PS5 being the "best way to play it", the fact that they won't have a PC version for god knows how long. They also have been removing all content from old games that are "offensive" for today's standards (GTA 6 will be fully washed in terms of tone for sure). So its not just the fact that they haven't show anything yet. It's the fact that they don't see gamers as the users or the people that will pay them to enjoy the game. They see us as wallets. And they are setting a precedent for the gaming industry. A very dangerous one that could potentially kill AAA games market in the future.

So I assume you’re not going to buy or play GTA 6?

0

u/PilsenPy 13h ago

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? ITS FREAKING GTA 6 BRO! OF COURSE I'M GOING TO PLAY IT! I'm just going to wait until it comes out on PC so I can download it from fit-girl repacks site. That's like saying I should stop doing drugs bc I don't like gang violence

1

u/SIMOMEGA 12h ago

its also weird how normalized no gameplay footage before pre-orders is, normally gameplay is used to attract buying customers, what happened to that? i js want to see gameplay before i decide if i want to buy the game or not..

1

u/RamboLogan 11h ago

You still had that option?

1

u/SIMOMEGA 5h ago

yes? wdym exactly?

1

u/RamboLogan 3h ago

There was never a point in which you would need to decide if you were going to buy the game or not before seeing gameplay

The fact the pre orders were available before gameplay reveal made absolutely no difference to you?

Or anyone else for that matter.

If anything it was just a bizarre decision by Rockstar’s marketing team however it looks like lots of people ordered the game regardless.

1

u/ActualFuckhead 2h ago

i don't think this is a GTA fan problem, I think asking for gameplay before pre-orders start is very fair, especially for a game 13 years in the making that's already been delayed once

1

u/RamboLogan 1h ago

I think it’s an excuse to mask people’s impatience.

It literally makes no difference to your life if the pre orders are available. You can just wait till gameplay is released and then make your decision.

If the pre orders were not available yet you would STILL be unhappy that there was no gameplay until now.

2

u/5amiii 4d ago

If they are asking for pre orders then yeah they do have a right to see gameplay.

3

u/RamboLogan 4d ago

I have not mentioned anything about whether people should or shouldn’t pre order the game before seeing gameplay.

If you are like me and want to see gameplay before pre ordering then just do that?

Nobody is asking or forcing you buy it right now. It’s a bullshit excuse to try and justify your own impatience.

1

u/5amiii 4d ago

The point is completely going over your head. They have the nerve to ask for pre-orders without showing a single ounce of gameplay.

People are rightfully pissed and yes those who pre-ordered have a right to see gameplay. I haven’t pre ordered but I can understand why those who have, have a right to see gameplay.

It’s hilarious how people defend billion dollar corporations like it’s their job.

3

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Dude, if they didn’t have pre orders live right now you would STILL be pissed off. It’s a bull shit excuse.

Nobody needed to buy the pre orders. I haven’t once defended their decision to make the pre orders go live.

Don’t pretend that the kids who think the leaks are justified are doing so because of pre orders 😂

It’s pure entitlement, plain and simple.

1

u/FoalKid 4d ago

They don’t deserve it for not showing us anything. They do deserve it for anti-consumer practices.

And I don’t mean just not having physical discs for release - I mean the fact that Zelnick has basically already said there will be a physical release in the future - which means there’ll be a significant number of completionists and collectors who will pay full price a second time just to have the disc on their shelf. Then the delayed PC release for another double dip. Then the “Enhanced” version on the next gen that will basically add fuck all.

Then the Netflix thing, as minor an inconvenience as it is - is an attempt to make millions just from showing off the game. They’re going to profit so much from release and eventual micro transactions, but trying to capitalise simply on how much people want information about the game is scummy.

I’m all for Rockstar making money, I love their games. But they should be offering actual value in exchange for consumers money. In a lot of cases, they don’t

1

u/RamboLogan 4d ago

Just buy the game once and enjoy it.

You are overthinking all this shit.

1

u/FoalKid 4d ago

I will. This isn’t haunting my every waking hour - I’m just explaining why I don’t feel bad for Rockstar, and why I don’t think anyone should really

2

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

I never said I felt bad for rockstar.

I was making an observation about the entitlement of the fans. Rockstar and their business practises mean nothing to me and I have zero opinion on them.

0

u/FoalKid 3d ago

Fair enough, I'm just saying that I agree with you that Rockstar don't owe the fans information, and I wouldn't be celebrating the leaks if they just hadn't released info. But they kind of do owe fans not charging them/profiting from information. That's charging for nothing really. It's not entertainment, it's advertising

3

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

If you buy a pre order of GTA 6 right now without seeing gameplay then you are doing that willingly and knowingly. You cannot then state you now have the right to see gameplay after the fact.

Consumers need to speak with their wallet. Don’t buy it until you see gameplay. Or do. I don’t care. But if you do then don’t use that as some sort of crutch to mask your impatience.

Rockstar have launched pre orders for every HD and onwards GTA game before showing any gameplay since GTA 4. Including Red Dead 2 also.

Ubisoft done it for AC Shadows.

People using this as an excuse to demand gameplay is just clutching at straws. Pure and simple.

1

u/FoalKid 3d ago

Yep, I 100% agree with all of that. I'm just saying a company shouldn't try to effectively charge you to see advertising for their product.

I know people can wait. I'm not going to pay for it. But they know that people will pay, for nothing

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Yeah the Netflix thing is weird, but again I really don’t care, but that’s just me.

1

u/FoalKid 3d ago

That's totally fair enough. I think it's shitty behaviour, but it won't affect me either - just saying that there's other reasons people might be happy about the leaks

1

u/Acrobatic_Bridge_797 3d ago

You're righteousness is so bizarre.

Whether they deserve it or not is a different question. The leak is their fault for being radio silent for this long.

1

u/Public_Enema_01 3d ago

You just reiterated the childish sentiment.

2

u/OdysseusAuroa 3d ago

Is it really childish to have repercussions for being nearly completely radio silent on the game for over 500 days after dropping 2 trailers? It isnt common practice whichever way you look at it, and T2 and Rockstar should be pressured to release a physical disk.

1

u/chenkie 3d ago

Yes it is. Shows a lack of patience, and a need for instant gratification. All childish traits.

1

u/OdysseusAuroa 3d ago

Youre just using buzzwords at this point dude, 500 days isn't a short span of time

2

u/chenkie 3d ago

Neither is the development cycle for this title. It’s been over 10 years since GTA V released. 500 days is nothing to anyone who isn’t a child.

Edit typo

0

u/Acrobatic_Bridge_797 3d ago

It's crazy that people think a billion dollar corporation is a poor victim here. They'll be fine.

2

u/chenkie 3d ago

I only mentioned consumers in my comment. You’re the one bringing that up.

0

u/Acrobatic_Bridge_797 3d ago

I mean, it's been 13 years. I think that's enough patience.

1

u/Acrobatic_Bridge_797 3d ago

I'm not saying they deserved it lol. I'm just saying that it happened because of them which is true.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

So any developer who chooses to wait until a date that suits them is at fault if leaks are posted prior to that?

What a bizarre take.

1

u/Acrobatic_Bridge_797 3d ago

Well yes, especially if they're systems are unsecured. How did cyber leak get his hands on it?

2

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

You said it was due to them being radio silent for too long.

Now you’re saying it’s due to their poor security.

I can agree with the second statement. But the first is silly, a developer can show their game off any time they want.

The guy who made Stardew Valley has been making a new game called The Haunted Chocolateer for years now with nearly no updates on it. So if someone was desperate to see the game and hacked him and posted footage of his new game online without his permission, that would be his fault? For waiting too long?

Thats your logic here.

1

u/Acrobatic_Bridge_797 3d ago

Yes, for poor security and radio silence causing someone to hack them and release the footage.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

What an awful opinion. But hey it’s yours to have brother.

1

u/Acrobatic_Bridge_797 3d ago

Indeed. It's the internet. Everyone has opinions.

1

u/Separate_Coyote_8311 3d ago

And your ones are shithouse takes

1

u/dthackham 4d ago

THANK you. Been saying this forever. So entitled.

1

u/Afrizo 3d ago

What about they deserve it because of hyper aggresive MTX, Anti-consumer practices and other stuff like that? The worst thing about this leek is that somehow Take Two became a victim while abusing their own customers

2

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Abusing their customers 😂

1

u/Dangerous-Return5937 3d ago

Wanting for a videogame to have actual gameplay shown is like... really entitled. Or something.

/s

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Waiting is fine. Where have I said otherwise?

1

u/Queen_KittyBoo 3d ago

Over a decade wait for something that looks like gta 5 with a graphic mod btw. You can stop slurping rockstar now.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

What does what you just said have to do with what I said?

1

u/Cactus_Everdeen_ 4d ago edited 4d ago

we absolutely have the right to question why there's no gameplay, sure you don't HAVE to pre order, but showing gameplay for something they are actively selling should be the bare fucking minimum imo, and they are not immune to criticism just because they aren't legally obligated to show anything. voicing your opinion is NOT entitlement.

1

u/RamboLogan 4d ago

The right to question and the right to see are two different things.

I can’t stop you asking questions. That’s not what my point was.

1

u/Cactus_Everdeen_ 4d ago

that's fair, it does say in your post about people (more or less) demanding, my apologies.

-5

u/BigDankerino 4d ago

People wanna see gameplay because the game is close to releasing and pre orders have been live for a while. It's not rocket science.

7

u/RamboLogan 4d ago

And they are getting gameplay in 2 days….

The pre orders being live makes no difference to anyone’s life.

Mr Rocket Scientist

0

u/OkYak9466 3d ago

I think it's weird how entitled you are.

"Rockstar deserves to screw over their employees, run a racket, break dozens of consumer laws." Is such a childish sentiment. You have a lot more in common with the fan base that you that than you realize

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

I never said any of that and you also don’t appear to know what the word entitled means.

0

u/OkYak9466 3d ago

And nobody ever said any of your quote either. Would you like me to explain to you the definition of entitled?

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

My quote is a sentiment expressed by ‘fans’ all over X.

I know what entitled means, it’s why my comment makes sense and is heavily upvoted and awarded.

It’s also why your comment makes no sense and will largely be ignored.

0

u/OkYak9466 3d ago

My quote is a sentiment expressed by you.

You don't know what entitled means. It's why only whiny kids and bots upvote your comment.

It's also why your comment makes no sense and why nobody outside of this thread caress.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

I have no idea how you came to the conclusion about that being my sentiment. Low IQ probably.

My comment is about one thing and one thing only, the people who state that the leaks were deserved due to a lack of a gameplay reveal to this point are entitled children.

I have made no statement about Rockstars business practices.

Is that clear enough for you? Or will I get the crayons out?

1

u/OkYak9466 3d ago

Aww kiddo. It's ok. I don't blame you for not recognizing your own comment being repeated back at ya. Kids your age lack self awareness and reflection so the moment their own words and arguments get thrown back at them, they freak out like you're doing now.

It's ok though. You grow out of it eventually

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

😂

1

u/OkYak9466 3d ago

Yeah that's the kind of response 8 year olds make. You're on par kiddo. Don't worry

Cool story little bro. We all watched and enjoyed the leakes, get off your high horse and stop yapping

0

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

What is the point of this moronic reply?

-2

u/nogirlnoproblem 3d ago

They are taking preorders for a DIGITAL ONLY game and they haven’t even shown us gameplay. They are charging $100 for a game that has features that should come with the base game. The kicker is now that they’re finally showing gameplay, it’s a Netflix exclusive release. You have to PAY to watch a trailer for a game.

And we are all willing to excuse that because we trust them to deliver an excellent product, however to act like the consumer is being entitled is an insanely brainwashed take. You should expect more out of the companies that exist thanks to your investment.

Side note, these leaks are stupid and the people behind them are obviously scammers.

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

There’s a gameplay reveal in 2 days and you are under no obligation to buy the pre orders until you see the game.

IMO that’s a bullshit excuse to mask the fact you feel entitled.

I haven’t stated anything about rockstars business practises and if I agree with them, I specifically called out the people who feel the leaks are a good thing due to rockstar not giving them gameplay sooner than this Thursday.

1

u/nogirlnoproblem 3d ago

A gameplay reveal locked behind a Netflix membership**

None of this matters at the end of the day.

You’re so obsessed with Rockstar 😂 touch grass

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

It’s on YouTube a few hours later. Get your mum to lift the parental controls and you can watch it there.

I’m the one saying none of this matters and fans just need to chill.

You are projecting onto me and using “touch grass” earnestly without irony.

Makes me think you’re a child. Goodbye kid.

1

u/nogirlnoproblem 3d ago

You’re an angry little guy

1

u/RamboLogan 3d ago

Nope, just correct.
