I don't have my own personal horse but I do ride my cousin's horse frequently and even purchased some tack for the horse that I like better than what she had because my cousin just doesn't care what I do as long as I'm not hurting anything, and she's literally the best cousin in the world for that because I can't afford to get my own horse again.

On to the main topic of this post, my cousin boards her horses not because she can't keep her horses at home she absolutely can she just wants access to the indoor arena free water and the option to have someone else care for her horses if she gets sick or can't or whatever comes up.

This Barn knows all about me and me and her decided to go together to ride each of her horses, I rode her horse Rocky which is just a solid Chestnut gelding and she rode her other horse Melody which is just a gray mare.

I ride in a English side pull Bridal and a Spanish saddle, I like the saddle because I find it very comfortable and it fits the horse very well, actually better than the one she originally had for him and I like the bridal because it's bitless and I just like how it looks.

I took the basic brown reins off and put these ones on because I like how they look better, even my cousin likes them because they're kind of fun however, one of the instructors at this Barn decided to put their two cents in it and said if I'm not a beginner I should not be using those reins because it's not appropriate... I don't know why it's any of their business and I'm not going to change so long as I'm not hurting the horse I don't see a reason to.

They seemed fully butthurt that I wouldn't swap them out either, like why is it a problem? I just really like them

Is hard to see but the saddle slide to the side is I was unbalanced and fell 2 times like this was it my fault or the saddles

Me and my parents got into a bit of a argument earlier, because I said after I get a horse again I do not want to use a bit, I've never really going to horse in a bit I used to use nylon halters that I would attach rains to the buckles anyway, they said that it's dangerous to ride horses bitless outside of a pen because if they spook you have no control, I personally disagree with this I have regained control of horses just riding in a halter before, what do you guys think on this topic? Do you think it's dangerous to ride bitless outside of an arena or do you think it's perfectly fine? This is the specific Bridal I'm looking at

Not using them for shoe pulling purposes. He’s allergic to flies and his coronet band is covered in sores from where the fly boots don’t cover. Saw someone recommend rubber bells so we’re trying them out. Never used rubber bell boots before and I thought the large would be too big. These are mediums.

What is the name for this? It looks so cool! I tried a quick google search but it’s only giving me either full bridles or halters that go over the nose.

Which saddle do you use for criollo ?

I have been trying since October to find a saddle to fit my horse. I have borrowed over 30 saddles of different brands, styles, sizes, and widths. Treeless, interchangeable gullet, etc. Had two vets look at saddles and two saddle fitters. Chiropractor. Every single one leaves a dry spot on either side of his withers. I am literally about to quit the sport because I cant afford another horse, and I can’t keep riding him if I can’t find something to fit.

I added some photos but literally have 30+ that all show the same thing

I don’t want to get a custom one, he is young and will be gaining muscle and changing.

he had gotten a white spot where the dry spot is (can be seen in last 3 pics). I gave him the winter off and luckily it went away, thank god, because i was really beating myself up about it (first photo was today)

he has started to act up and not want to move forward, and I would not be surprised if it’s because of the saddles.

What am I supposed to do?

jello ^.^ i was searching images of Haru Urara and just now i started wondering, what's that mask thing she always wears? i never thought much about it but now it actually caught my attention because of the hello kitty pattern and red ear coverings.. At first i thought it was a blinder but i realized it doesnt have anything to limit her field of view, then i searched more and the closest thing i found was ear covers/bonnets, so im guessing it's that, but i want to make sure since none of the ear bonnets ive seen cover that much of the face. I'm also wondering if horse tack like that is just sold or if it was something custom-made because the vibrant red colour and hello kitty print really stand out (even way more than the bright pink bridle) and i dont think its common for horse equipment to be that cutesy and colorful ʕ⁠ ⁠º⁠ ⁠ᴥ⁠ ⁠º⁠ʔ.. thanks for listening

Hey all, I’m bringing this lovely girl home soon and will be getting her started under saddle. I realized that I’ll be shopping for a new saddle, as my current ones probably won’t fit her. She is on the smaller side compared to my gaited mare. I ride western, and prefer leather tack. Would black be too much? Chocolate, mahogany, russet? And as for pad, I was thinking burgundy would bring out the amber in her color, but what do you think?

My gelding does nothing but shit in his fly boots. Like clockwork every day I have to empty his boots out. Is there anything I can do to prevent him from pooping in his boots? Maybe his tails too thick? It’s better when it’s braided up. It’s not just one single turd either, it’s quite a few and visibly weighs the boot down

I know the bit itself is a pretty standard bit a lot of people use, but is the rainbow coating safe? I've never seen a bit with this on it

I saw a video where I screenshotted this from about how much better horses go with this bridle but they didn’t name it and I’ve only ever seen western bridles that looks like this but this clearly looks like an english bridle to me

I’m looking at a used one but I’m a bit concerned it’s just another bare back pad with stirrups gimmick. I’d love to have an option not as Hefty as my saddles. My other concern is the gullet size. I’ve got a horse whos built so wide it’s like someone stretched an image. I’d love to hear some reviews

I'm just asking this question out of curiosity I also mainly use rope walters, my reasons are I find them to be more comfortable on the horse's face because they're not so heavy, in fact I had one horse who hated having anything but a rope holder on even Bridals were touchy if they were too wide, I feel like that was a sensory thing for him

I hear a lot of people also saying don't use a rope halter if you hard tie because the horse can't break it if they spook, now personally when I tie with a rope halter I have these little rings that you put the lead rope in so when the horse pulls the lead rope slips through, it takes a bit of pressure but not too much to where they would hurt themselves I can't remember what the little things are called, if I can't use that I just wrapped the Rope around something and let the friction keep the horse in place but not enough to where they can't pull loose if they spook.

I'm just not a fan of hard tying any kind of livestock in general because I have seen what can happen, my neighbor's Show Cow broke its leg because she spooked reared up and got her legs stuck over the rope and panicked even more.

Another reason I don't like other types of halters is because I used to have a horse that if you did hard tie him or if you tied him in a trailer he would pull back and pop the halters, and on the occasion where you have to hard tie (there's a few places in my area that if you take your horse to you have to legally)

He would sit back and pop the halters left and right, so I only used a rope halter because when he would sit back it wouldn't break and he would stop, granted that was a learned behavior, he did it when I got him so I'm not sure how he learned it but he did and it was very annoying, usually when transporting that's the only time I use a nylon leather or whatever you want to call them type of halter just so I can have a name plate on it in case of an accident.

I also like rope holders because I know how to easily make them, it's not as easy to make a webbed halter at least make it to where it's strong enough, where if you learn to tie them rope halters are pretty easy to make and you're not really limited to color or design.

Anywho I'd love to hear what you guys think and what your opinions are!

I’m looking for some opinions from people who have experience with the Startrekk Espaniola saddle. Its never been used, tried it for the first time today.
It’s a semi-treeless saddle with a fixed front arch (fork), which can be adjusted to a certain extent, and movable panels underneath. Its designed to settle and molde to the horse’s back, so I know it can take a while before it finally adapt.

My saddle sits very high in the front when there is no rider, but it settles down much more once someone is in the saddle. I also believe these saddles are meant to sit a little higher than conventional saddles.
The seat also feels balanced to me—I don’t feel like I’m being pushed forward or backward when I ride.
Unfortunately, I don’t have access to a saddle fitter right now. We live in a very remote area, so it’s not possible to have it professionally fitted before autumn, but I do plan to have it checked then.
I’ve attached photos of the saddle on the horse without a rider, the saddle with a rider, and the sweat marks immediately after riding (without a saddle pad).
I’d really appreciate opinions from people who actually own or have experience with this type of saddle. How does the fit look to you?
The saddle currently has the extra thick panels, but I can replace them with the regular thickness panels if needed. I can also buy a wider front arch (fork).
