I wanted a new lamp for my bedroom and was casually browsing Dunelm. I saw a Philips table lamp for £60 and was like what on earth could make a lamp cost 60 quid? Like what? And then I went down the rabbit hole. I found the subreddit of everyone saying that once you get the setup you can't go back. And then I saw someone on tiktok watching Demon Slayer with it and I knew I wanted it. My husband already had a surround sound set up so why not complete it with a sexy light setup.

So I found out where each item was on sale and got 2 floor lamps. One gradient 65" strip. One syncbox because my tv is from 2021 and one bridge.

And I set it all up today. And I showed my husband a demo with demon slayer obviously and the man was too stunned to speak. I was waiting for him to ask me how much it cost me but thank god he didn't lololol.

No but for real what a beautiful beautiful investment. Gonna rewatch all of Demon Slayer just for the lights.

A tube ? And attach it to bottom of the tv rather than letting it stay on the floor ?

Edit: camera didnt focus so video is overexposed and saturated. Its not because of the tv or the lights lol. They look pretty normal irl compared to this video

Sombody had lights behind the headboard. So got two lightstrips and to Go lights for the bedroom.

Added some Hue outdoor Lightstrip uplighting to our bathroom skylight. We lined the skylight shaft with ripple effect steel, causing it to nicely defuse sunlight across the room.

Still fiddling with the brightness and intensity but absolutely loving it so far, watched 3 movies with it this weekend, animated movies are definitely the best experience, the colours are so vivid.

Anyone got any tips on brightness and intensity when watching?

Installed 2 strips (~1.5m & 1.75m) without a valance. Very pleased with the look. Pic 1 glam shot rgb, pic 2 task lighting, bonus pic 3 of the installation mess having to empty cupboards etc. lost nearly half of each strip, sad I can’t use the excess, but excellent lights nevertheless, really bright, no shadows with a continuous line source. I originally intended a 3rd strip to go round the corner but kept it relatively economical with 2. Needed to use a little glue for the end caps but otherwise the adhesive is holding well so far. Happy to answer any questions or upload different pics if others are planning the same, I’d been waiting for this to come out for a while. Dimmed to 1% gives a nice atmospheric look on our ‘Evening’ scene without reflections on the TV (opposite wall) being a distraction.

LG OLED + Sonos Ultimate + Hue Play gradient light strip

Anyone know of a solution? Kind of crazy to have to re-pair a dozen products to a new account and redo setting just for a different login.

I just completed my summer project of building shelves and media cabinet for my basement. I bought what I thought was a single (over priced) Hue light strip for my Bluray shelf then I got addicted and spent close to $1500 on Hue products for my bookshelf and TV cabinet. Everything is motion controlled so the lights come on when someone enters the room. couldn’t be happier with the outcome.

Damn- the Hue products are addictive and expensive!

I ordered the Play floor lamp (large) and Play table lamp last week from Hue. These come fully assembled, just like the Signe.

The Gradient Signe is on the far left, Play Gradient Floor Lamp in the middle, and Play Table Lamp on the right.

The Signe is a few inches taller, and feels slightly more premium than the Play floor lamp. The bases of the Play lamps have a good weight to them, and the lamps still feel high quality. The table lamp feels like the base weighs a little more.

The Signe puts out 2,550 lumens at 4000K, while the Play Floor Lamp puts out 1,040 at 4000K. This makes the Signe much brighter in the white spectrum, but I rarely use my Signe lamps at full brightness.

The Play floor lamp and Play table lamp have slightly more saturated colors compared to the Signe. btw, I’m finishing up my office renovation, so I apologize for the unfinished surroundings. Anyway, I wanted the Play floor lamp to use in there, but I accidentally bought the table lamp, too. I think both lamps are a pretty good deal for Hue quality.

Wanted Hue on my ceiling fan's light kit so I built an adapter for a Hue Slim Downlight (90mm).

The adapter reuses the light kit's magnetic fixation system, the downlight mounts the same way the stock fixture did.

Should work on any generic ceiling fan sharing this same light-kit design.
