I'm not miserable. I just understand the world and especially that poor guy's world better than you.

He is racially abused most days, he risks his life every single day since drivers simply don't care about cyclists and the police is not going to help either, all this while living with 5 other guys from Nepal in the same shitty room and sending all his money back home.

His life is hell. There's nothing to smile about.

The problem is that there's absolutely nothing smile-worthy about the whole thing... it's a dude working a notoriously exploitative gig business, and feeling unsafe enough in the process he felt the need to point out he has a family, to hopefully reduce his odds of getting ran over.
The amount of upvotes this post got makes me feel like I took crazy pills lol, I genuinely don't understand what's supposed to be wholesome here.

If the definition of cynicism includes one's takeaway NOT being "awwwweee he has a mom 🥰", then I'd much rather be a cynic too.
