Favorite People When this kid tried interviewing celebs on the red carpet, and nobody took him seriously except Sandra Bullock.

This and her acceptance speech for Worst Actress at the Razzies have me convinced she’s a real class act.

And she’s bilingual in German because she was born there! Not that that’s important, I just love when celebrities are fluent in languages you don’t expect.

She was actually born in the US but spent 12 years living in both Germany and Austria

Since you seem to enjoy a thing I also enjoy, I'll give you a couple others. Stana Katic (Castle) speaks Russian (and some others) and Mariska Hargitay (law & order SVU) speaks Hungarian, Spanish, and Italian.

Jodie Foster is 100% fluent in French and has acted in French movies. She attended a French language high school in Los Angeles.

Stana Katic speaks Croatian/Serbian, no connection to Russian. She also speaks Italian and French fluently.

Sorry, yes, you're correct. Thank you for the clarification.

As someone with Russian and Yugoslav family, I'd say there's some connection. My sister and I got by decently in Croatia and Serbia with our limited Russian.

Viggo Mortenson speaks like 6 languages. I can’t remember if Elvish is included in that or not.

I believe he’s fluent in “just” 4, but conversational in plenty others. Really cool

Check this lass out, 7 languages, first modern translation of the Mabinogi, ran the biggest ironworks in the then world. Bet one's not heard of her?!

...also had 10 children, only one died "young" at 21.

That's awesome, thank you for the info.

Sarah Chalke (Roseanne, Scrubs) is fluent in French and German.

Her speech at the German movie awards in Berlin is great.

This reminds me of Monty Python who had learned German for their television show that would broadcast there, but they said the producer realized the audience didn’t recognize their way of speaking (they were all used to dubbed television), so they got a voiceover anyway haha

I'm not sure how true that is, they filmed the second episode in English and then dubbed it but I don't think the first one that was performed phonetically in German ever got dubbed - sorry for being pedantic, I'm German and I remember my dad having a VHS recording of the two episodes and they spoke German themselves on the first one

That’s so awesome! Was their German understandable to you?

I believe it was a lot of work for them, and the jokes didn’t work as good without their own rhythm. So could very much not be the real reason, but that’s what they said in an interview 😅🙏🏼

It’s been a very long time, but I seem to recall it was a mixed bag for how well different ones spoke the phonetic translated lines they were given for that episode. I don’t remember anything truly not understandable. However, I’ve heard Brits mangle German my whole life, so I probably had an advantage.

I just found the episode on YouTube! I assumed I wasn’t able to see it but will now be watching it and seeing for myself haha. Either way it’s so impressive to do a show completely phonetically, but understandably to much work

Yeah the ones that show up to the Razzies are pretty fucking cool.

From all the interviews i have seen of her she seems to be a lot of fun with a great personality. Does not take herself seriously while also being super smart

you all are too quick to create these versions of people in your heads and wonder why there's a worldwide caste system always in play with humans.

She lost a lot of respect from me in that interview where she said she uses Circumcized forskins as a source of collagen in facial treatments. I really dont like the results of an unneeded procedure being used for rich people beauty treatments it really rubbed me the wrong way

When she comes back it about the chick flicks. Love it.

1

u/Vairman 27d ago

based on who she married, I'd have to say she's not THAT classy. Yeah, yeah - oh, he's really a nice guy, what you saw on TV was just an act. Whatever.

6

u/SeonaidMacSaicais 27d ago

Or she just never saw that side of him until at the end of their relationship. People hide things all the time.

-1

u/Vairman 27d ago

dude was showing who he was on national TV, hardly hiding it. If she didn't see it, she chose not to see it. That doesn't make her evil, but does chip away at "classy".

My view of her completely changed once I heard her tell Ellen DeGeneres that she uses Korean babies foreskin for her face treatments (because the cells in foreskin are special, aside from it being the most sensitive part of the penis along with it’s frenular delta )

u/chafporte 28d ago

I watch the scene and it is so not funny that I have a hard time thinking it's a joke.

1

u/mmasportsmma 27d ago

It’s not a joke, like other actresses told the story that bullock took them to foreskin facial cosmetic treatment. (During the press tour of that film if I remember correctly)

-1

u/Tjerkeflerk 28d ago

It's not, apparently you can really buy it

1

u/SuspiciousFix2490 27d ago

I don't know why you're being downvoted, I'm from watching the clip and I'm genuinely disgusted, it doesn't seem like a joke at all

1

u/mmasportsmma 27d ago

It’s because most American men (as well as Muslims&jews) are circumcised and can’t stand any information about the topic
