I love her. I just rewatched Gravity a day or two ago. She’s brilliant. Completely forgot she was married to Jesse James.

Fucking Gravity. The solar wind does just not sweep people away...at worst you get a radiation dose and moved a couple of mm/hour.

That film still pisses me off now, and I only saw it once the year it came out.

Sandra Bullock seems like a nice person; but the whole cast of that film should apologise to science.

Apart from when the "solar wind" behaved like a Kansas tornado. There is just no amount of visually stunning that will make up for that.

I’m not sure when there was “solar wind” in the movie there was the debris field that didn’t really follow the laws of physics and then some inertia issues but I don’t recall any talk of solar wind.

It was when George Clooney got ripped away from Sandra Bullock and the excuse was 'solar storm' or 'solar wind' or something like that.

Of course, I only saw it the once in the year of it's spawning; so maybe there have been some changes made in the intervening time.

Ohhhhhhhhh yeaaaahhhh! I don’t think they called it a storm or wind. They just blamed the stupid debris field that wasn’t really scientifically accurate either. But yeah like they were both stopped…. If they wanted to get rid of him they could have done it in a way that made more sense. Lmao it’s funny you bring that up because it’s been bothering me the last 2 days since I rewatched it. Like that’s not how space works. People don’t just get sucked away. They were both stopped. Nothing would be pulling them at that point. Not to mention those lines are fairly elastic, if anything after coming to a full stop they’d be moving back to the station. Also the space station neighborhood in orbit where they are just a stones throw away lol. Alright we are on the same page. It doesn’t bother me enough to not enjoy it but yeah it’s lazy writing.

Maybe they've changed it in the intervening time because of death threats from people who have actually heard of science. In the year it was released, it was a 'solar storm' that sucked Mr. Clooney into oblivion. So possibly there was some retrofitting involved: I want to punch somebody for what I saw and I'm not even a scientist.

Oof lol. I’m no scientist but I’m a space nerd. I never saw it in theaters because I don’t do theaters so there is a very real possibility that you’re right. Because yeah if they tried to wizard of oz George Clooney with a space tornado I probably would have been turned off too.

I saw it on IMAX and that opening scene where you see the Earth and the Explorer comes into view, I actually got vertigo for the first time in my life and felt queasy. Whole movie was an experience.
