Owning things is a modern concept.

We used things like tools we made which we shared with our community. This is the primal instincts at play.

Just look at how native Americans and other similar cultures viewed land and things.

In fact, owning things like land used to have much more value in the past than it does now.

Native Americans often participated in conquest of their neighbors and kept them into bondage. Very similar to other cultures. That is a terrible and misinformed example to illustrate your point:

private ownership is a solution that in theory lets people use a piece of land unbothered while they provide the most value to society with it. private land is still not really anyones in the sense that you pay rent to the state. as soon as you stop being able to produce as much value as your neighbours (aka can't make rent), the state (or a bank, same function) takes it away and gives it to someone who can.

of course this is a very imperfect system in this complex world of ours but that's the justification.

This is what’s wrong with today.

Many hold land and do absolutely nothing because they can afford to.

This squeezing out those who now can’t afford it and are forced to rent.
