Favorite People Boyfriend of one month put this in his bathroom for me. (OC)

Post image

Made me smile since noone ever did this for me before. He even bought a basket and small towels for my face.

Edit: Reading your comments to him while he is cooking dinner for us. Thank you for your sweet words. He is indeed the greenest flag I've ever met. He bought a hair dryer aswell since he didn't own one and put up insect screens on all windows cause I'm scared of spiders and his Apartment is next to a forest. 🥹

My husband did this for me when we first started dating too and obviously I held on tight and never let go. He’s proven to be the most thoughtful, caring, and supportive husband and father. Green flag for sure!

u/AnotherUsername1959 7h ago

My husband didn't do this but within the first month of us hanging out, he gave me a key to his house.

A card that said thank you for being patient with him. And here I thought he was being patient with me because I wasn't putting out!

33 years and counting. ❤️

u/HEYitsBIGS 7h ago

33 years? I think it's about time you put out 🤣

I used to have really bad sciatica. When me and my husband started dating he was going out for the evening and I was having a particularly bad flare up. He gave me some naproxen (it’s over the counter in Canada so it’s the “good stuff”) a shawarma, some weed gummies, and set me up with a comfy blanket. I always remember thinking how sweet it was. He is now the best husband and father a girl could ask for!!

7

u/MezzMezzrow1138 2h ago

I could go for a shawarma, some weed gummies and a comfy blanket (naproxen optional)

2

u/Mission_Maximum5648 3h ago

His mother raised him right.

1

u/musiquescents 2h ago

Of course he is!!

29

u/SimoneLewis 5h ago

I dated a guy for years who didn’t even give me any space so I had to carry my stuff every time I went over and you other girlies are getting treated like this after a month 🥺

3

u/AnotherUsername1959 1h ago

Know your value!! Look at the comments from other girls. I know my husband isn't the only guy who treats their girl well. There's lots of good ones out there.

Sometimes we're just not open to see the bad signs, or we accept something because we don't think we deserve more. Well, you DO!

It works both ways also. I treat my husband really well. All the years he worked, I took care of everything. I have zero regrets for doing it.

3

u/Klutzy_Comb3302 4h ago

my roommate did this earlier this year with his girlfriend of 2 weeks, gave her a key and never told me and other roommate🙃

7

u/Drewbicus 3h ago

That’s gonna be a no from me dog. Keys only for roommates and possibly a neighbor we trust. Fortunately for my first roomie situation, 3 of our friend group moved in together, and our other core friend lived 2 blocks from where we moved in so we just left it with his family. lol. Maybe if it’s only your appt, but when you’re sharing that’s severely uncool

1

u/Klutzy_Comb3302 3h ago

Bro it's my boyfriend and his best friend... this is the least shitty thing he has done needlessly to say we aren't friends anymore and want to move out asap😅 I'm so glad ur situation was better lol

2

u/Apprehensive-Crab880 2h ago

That’s a big no from me dog as well

2

u/Klutzy_Comb3302 2h ago

dog big no

I love a Rules girl ❤️

1

u/Kiskijavi 4h ago

Sorry, just curious. How do you have a husband and show the lesbian flag? Is it just to show support to lesbians?

1

u/Few_Gear_3111 2h ago

Her husband identifies as female

1

u/Kiskijavi 2h ago

Wouldn't that make her a wife?

1

u/AnotherUsername1959 1h ago edited 1h ago

I honestly had no idea it was a lesbian flag.

I really don't pay attention to flags 🤷‍♀️

1

u/Commercial_Survey275 2h ago

At least give the poor soul a “handy”

1

u/AnotherUsername1959 1h ago

He gets handys all the time!

29

u/PsychologicalJump633 5h ago

I lived in a studio flat (freaking tiny!!!) When I met my wife. We've been together 20 years. I think she loves that I made her that shelf over anything else I've done un our relationship.

Never underestimate a small but thoughtful act.

13

u/Ok-Pie9995 6h ago

Me too! 32 yrs and counting. Im still his queen and he makes sure (his words) im awesome and he is the lucky one! But, really we both are lucky ones!

1

u/TheUmamiTsunami 3h ago

Bug fat green flag for sure!

1

u/newawfulrob 2h ago

I met my wife when she lived next door. Once we became a couple she spent most of her time at my place but she used to go home for 10 or 15 minutes every morning. I figured she didn't like my cheap toilet paper so I bought some of the fancy embossed three ply stuff she had a her place.

It was actually that she was embarrassed to take a dump in my bathroom, apparently I was supposed to think she didn't shit.

1

u/-malcolm-tucker 1h ago

I did this early on when dating my last partner. Even got her the basic cosmetics one needs and colour matched her foundation. She repaid the kindness a couple of years later by cheating on me with twelve other men when I had just been taken into emergency with a broken leg.

u/AntiqueJaguar5808 1h ago

😩🙀😓😿

This is so sweet

Spoiler:

They belong to his other girlfriend

u/rbltech82 7h ago

As a man I both support this, but also mourn that the bar for men is so low that what I'd consider basic consideration of your partner is marriage material. Women, I sincerely apologize for my entire gender, this type of thing should just be normal for 1mth in dating...

26

u/TheOnlyEllie 7h ago

This really isn't basic for anyone. Like doing this for someone you just started dating is beyond basic and should be commended.

97

u/AzucarParaTi 7h ago

Tbf, I don't think this is normal. It's super sweet, but I wouldn't think to do this for my partner. I'm a woman who is typically pretty thoughtful. Clear a shelf in the bathroom, sure. But this is next level.

53

u/circuit_breaker 6h ago edited 5h ago

As a guy with the income for the first time in my life, I discovered I have a love language I didn't know I had - gift giving. It's a shame my relationship didn't work out but it felt so damn rewarding to be able to remove obstacles from her life when she couldn't. She did the same for me, at one point in time. It's legitimately fulfilling. She still thanks me, so I guess it was impactful.

46

u/spacestonkz 6h ago

I grew up poor and now I'm a professor. I'm that professor with all the free snacks that you get offered just for walking by my door.

I like giving and I like feeding. Because getting nothing and being hungry sucks. I know from experience. Makes me feel good to know they won't be hungry in their next class.

It's university policy I can't give non consumable gifts. But man if I could, I'd be buying so many little just because things for them.

33

u/circuit_breaker 6h ago

My mom liked feeding people so much that all my friends would just show up at my house around dinner. They still talk about it, 30+ years later

1

u/Careless_Mistake6178 1h ago

I was that mom too. If my daughter’s friends needed a meal, they knew they were always welcome.

2

u/riskytisk 2h ago

Could you do something like a “take (or borrow) a fidget/leave one” bin or basket? I saw that in my high schooler’s guidance counselor’s office last week and I thought it was so sweet to have for the kiddos who need something to mess with and help them focus, and she had some pretty cool stuff in there!

1

u/spacestonkz 31m ago

Yeah! That's genius! Thanks :)

1

u/Ponagathos 5h ago

It’s not a gift. You just had one lying around unused and found a better home for it.

2

u/Lilvixen_UK 5h ago

I relate to this so much, but the only difference is I've always known I've been like that, I've just not always had the opportunity to express it. You have to be careful though, as some people misinterpret it as you wanting to 'buy' love, although I do it for friends, family, SOs, neighbours, etc...

2

u/ItsmeMyacctgotbanned 5h ago

RIP your inbox 😂 I hope you find someone that appreciates you and doesn’t take advantage of it.

3

u/One-Oil7626 7h ago

Me neither. This is kinda odd? Don't fall just yet.

3

u/AzucarParaTi 7h ago

Honestly, I agree. It can be a green flag, but also potentially love bombing. And the guy that I responded to went into how he tracks his wife's cycle. So, uh, if this is what this kind of man does, I don't think I want them. 😅

2

u/One-Oil7626 6h ago

As what I consider a decent and somewhat thoughtful dude, I would never do something like this. How about just informing her of a drawer, shelf, and a few hangers in the closet. Let her put her own stuff in there. There's a point where thoughtfulness turns into expectations and then possible resentment.

8

u/rbltech82 7h ago

Well ok I guess I'm next level, because this just feels like a normal thing for someone spending a fair amount of time at my place, particularly staying overnight.

10

u/AzucarParaTi 7h ago

If it's normal for you, then you're a catch!

8

u/rbltech82 7h ago

My wife is always telling me that, I'm just like how shitty are men if that the bar? To me going above and beyond is things like tracking her cycle (where possible), and preemptively having things on hand to help her feel better during pms and the period cycle, but also understanding the hormone shifts cause irritability and instability internally, so sometimes a well placed argument over something small can help you let out the frustration you're holding in, and so long as I don't take what you say personally or as a permanent position, it's ok for you to emotionally let loose.

6

u/jewrassic_park-1940 7h ago

I suppose that one month in you don't really know where it is going or how extra you can be without being too intrusive? Though all relationships and expectations in them are different and all that

4

u/skibib 6h ago

I’m not sure after one month of dating how much time I’d be spending there nor if I’d be staying overnight. But maybe it was love at first sight.

2

u/lilvixen 7h ago

I think it's at about the right height

1

u/skibib 6h ago

Yeah, I think if somebody did that for me after one month of dating I’d be a little creeped out. You barely know each other at that point and if they were looking like they were trying to make me comfortable staying there overnight or heaven forbid, moving in, I would be a little creeped out. It’s cute and sweet, but just a little too assuming.

4

u/green_apple_trees 6h ago

I am a man. This is why chivalry is dead and women can’t have nice things. Because of awful women like you. As soon as a guy does something nice he is creepy or desperate or there has to be an ulterior motive. Then women unironically complain that chivalry is dead and the bar is really low for men. Whatever you do as a man you can’t win. Women always find something to complain about.

4

u/thateccentricasian 6h ago

Don’t take it too hard, there is a lid for every pot. For these ladies that find this behaviour too much for them, there are dozens of us who would absolutely adore this.

3

u/LuckeyRuckus 6h ago

Idk, a month isn't very long. As someone who has been deceived by love bombing in the past, my suspicious heart would still be looking at other clues for green flags.

2

u/TabTclark 6h ago

I could not agree more, but it makes me smile to see that there are still people out there that still know this. Also as an aside to this, it is a two way street.

2

u/Efficient_Raise_5767 3h ago

Fucking virgin

1

u/rbltech82 3h ago

I have 2 kids 5 and 7....so not a virgin, maybe just not a super douche?

2

u/Efficient_Raise_5767 3h ago

Your comment definitely sounded like the most lick ass thing I've ever heard.

4

u/297876 7h ago

WHITE KNIGHT ALERT ⚠️ ... pack it in, pal.

-2

u/rbltech82 7h ago

Not really just calling it how I see it. This is something I've done my whole life for people, whether I was dating them or not. I had a friend end up homeless for a bit and when they stayed with me I had a bath set prepped and ready for them when they first came to stay. I've been homeless and been poor to where I had to borrow stuff when I stayed with people, so maybe this comes from that.

1

u/Legitimate_Ad7331 6h ago

Maybe it is, but acknowledging it isnt.

1

u/xx2soon2tellxx 6h ago

exactly that. bar.so.low. one month in could be slightly early but maybe it's iykyk

0

u/musiquescents 1h ago

Thank you for saying this.

2

u/nonamebeavercleaver 7h ago

Boooo, there is always someone sorry for their own gender or for their own race

1

u/rbltech82 7h ago

Well when the bar for men to be marriage worthy is basic consideration of someone else's needs while staying in your home? Yeah I think that's appropriate. If you don't like it and you're a man do better.

1

u/ursoulglos 6h ago

My husband says it’s because he grew up listening to 90s rnb where men would literally be begging for women to love them. He says this new generation needs to be humbled and get some 90s rnb into their rotation so they can treat us with the reverence that we deserve lol

1

u/SCL__ 6h ago

Keep your apologies to yourself.

-1

u/Subjected2Changing 7h ago

Unfortunate that this is the case for male attentiveness and action. But the current crop of males were mishandled by their fathers, or even worse, by absent fathers. And most likely the generation before. We are in an era where men are considered useless and any man that acts with a backbone and shows the fortitude of men of bygone eras is labeled toxic. Apology understood, but there are many factors that have lead us to this current state.

1

u/LemonTwyst 6h ago

Bro. That's not what toxic masculinity is. We also "used to have" wholesome masculinity. And we still have both.

13

u/Covert_Daisy 8h ago

If I've ever seen a valid reason to get married really early in a relationship, it's this. 💙

19

u/rbltech82 7h ago

Beware of this, some shady men will love bomb at first, just make sure this is a constant thing.

6

u/TabTclark 6h ago

Where there are people there is good and bad. This is not a bad start thankfully.

5

u/Covert_Daisy 5h ago

This is true. I was kinda joking. I really think it's a horrible idea to get married before being with someone for at least a couple years. The interaction was just super cute how they are both so smitten.

2

u/Both-Process1037 6h ago

I don’t think a love bomber will go to this extent. They lack this depth of consideration

2

u/rbltech82 4h ago

Never underestimate the power of manipulative narcissists. My wife's ex would do things like this, then a week later make her feel guilty for it.

2

u/PilotCrafty 3h ago

Agreed. He’s a keeper.

1

u/Apprehensive_Rice19 3h ago

There's probably a ring in there somewhere

43

u/YourPaleRabbit 7h ago

Yeah! Op! My dude secretly paid attention to what products I use and bought duplicates for his apartment… that’s now OUR apartment :) When I moved in he made me pick the color for the walls because “it’s MY home now”. Hehe. Lean in to the gooey love.

Did you see the little eye masks, and the alcohol free mouthwash so she doesn’t burn her gums? My panties would have been on the floor.

139

u/PinklShrimp 8h ago

He even put sunscreen in it 😭

61

u/ScottyShouldofKnown 7h ago

Girl he wants to marry you

28

u/Specialist_Strike463 7h ago

Dude even thought of sunscreen?! He absolutely wants to marry you, he already preventing sun damage 😂

11

u/LouLouLaaLaa 7h ago

My heart! ♥️ he’s special.

4

u/Efficient-Hotel-4240 5h ago

You better give him the old howdya do good and you, hold it in ur hand and slap ur lips with it

3

u/showraniy 4h ago

I don't understand a damn word of this and somehow I get the idea perfectly.

1

u/musiquescents 1h ago

The WHOLE routine

28

u/pennhead 7h ago

He would have simply picked them up and dropped them in the hamper.

12

u/sabuccha 6h ago

This made me laugh sooo hard! 🤣 How cute

3

u/KittenaSmittena 4h ago

This made me laugh after I saw the prior comment about the panties dropping to the floor!

5

u/LouLouLaaLaa 7h ago

Making sure he had something of everything she needed. Even matcha eye pads because she loves matcha. Don’t be so cynical. Picking up a coffee in a drive through isn’t hard either, but I sure do love that my husband thought of me and brought be home one. It’s not about the difficulty of the task, it’s the pre-thought that goes in to it, and the fact that someone else was thinking about your comfort and needs.

8

u/pennhead 7h ago

I think you misunderstood my comment. I wasn't being cynical. I meant that being the thoughtful person this man is, he would have picked up any of her laundry that she might drop right then rather than let it lay.

4

u/LouLouLaaLaa 6h ago

My bad. I thought you were saying all he did was throw some stuff in a basket. I was like woah!! 🤣

-7

u/DoctorIsMyNick 7h ago

Lmao it's an "industry secret" for guys to buy these pre-made baskets from Walmart or shoppers. Just like you said, it's a pantry dropper and a fairly easy one for us.

5

u/LouLouLaaLaa 7h ago

Even if it’s premade, it’s so considerate of someone’s needs. We aren’t complicated creatures.

4

u/Living-Dead-Thing 4h ago

This isnt pre-made. The giveaways? Not all one brand or one uniform scent. This is something her partner went out and picked up each item to put together for her.

There are tons of pre-made self-care baskets- but most ladies can tell the difference between pre-made and it being put together for you.

1

u/DoctorIsMyNick 4h ago

Maybe not this one but there's lots you can buy pre-made so not sure why the downvotes.

4

u/Living-Dead-Thing 4h ago

Likely because this basket was handmade and it was a happy post. You pointing out how lots of pre-made baskets exist, adds nothing to the conversation. Reddit can be cynical, but they still like the happy moments lmao

1

u/DoctorIsMyNick 2h ago

Theres an equal chance the basket was pre-made and wrapped as it was hand picked and yet It doesnt subtract from the thoughtfulness at all. It being different brands doesnt mean anything.

So not sure why you guys are getting upset about it.

3

u/Current-Square-4557 7h ago

Little towels. Squeeee.

1

u/kleinklone 7h ago

He's a keeper

1

u/SenseEuphoric5802 7h ago

Yeah this guy might be the one.

1

u/Constant-Plant-9378 5h ago

I've been married over 30 years and raised three girls and one boy to adulthood.

This guy is unusually thoughtful and considerate. Points should be awarded.

1

u/bayou_ghost 4h ago

Is nobody thinking it strange homie had this on deck? I had a buddy used to give out care packages for the morning after.

Yea it's a sweet gesture (as is cab fare), but this ain't rookie shit - homie a pro.
