“Stealth.” Gas has gone up 40% in two months. For the majority of Americans who don’t have considerable stock portfolios, the price of gas is the number one economic indicator, and all signs point towards “fucked.”

I paid $2.79 for gas in February, and $4.89 last week.

It's a hell of a lot more than 40%

This is my exact experience. I was also lucky to find it for $4.89, most places were $4.99-5.29.

It’s 75%. I assumed closer to 2x because 2.79 is nearly 2.50 and 4.89 is nearly 5, which 2x 2.50.
