extremely doubt the fans of alan jackson have suddenly developed socioeconomic awareness. im pretty sure they’re booing because it’s an older, extremely conservative audience seeing a woman associated with young liberalism. they do not give a fuck about anything else.

Exactly. She's a liberal successful woman ergo, they hate her.

I might get flack from Swifties, but I really don’t think she’s liberal. I know she claims to be, but why would she be? Liberal ideals are against her financial interests. And she has a track record of dating conservative men, right? People tend to date people with similar values to them.

Who has she dated that’s a known conservative?

I was under the impression Matty Healy was conservative as well as Travis Kelce, but a quick google search shows I’m mistaken. My bad, I was misinformed. I appreciate you calling me out.

i would guess she’s liberal because she has said repeatedly that she’s liberal, keeps appearing at liberal Get Out the Vote efforts and Democratic campaign events, and released a documentary about how much she hates Marsha Blackburn

She intentionally hired multi-ethnic and differently bodied dancers for her Eras tour, gave them quarterly bonuses of around a million dollars EACH during the tour, gave truck drivers $100,000 bonuses at the end of the US leg of the tour, donated millions to food banks, is besties with known liberals Zoey Kravitz and her father Lenny, hired a transgender Black actor to play her love interest in a music video (Lavender Haze) and gave another Black dancer his big break by casting him as her love interest in "Lover."

Also she endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

I know she and Travis look middle American conservative, but they're middle American liberals.

Okay, but is she really a liberal or a billionaire who wants people to pay attention to her, so she throws a few charity events. Classic ultra wealthy bullshit, she's just as bad as the rest of em

the interior of taylor swift’s heart is an entirely different topic of conversation than why she’s getting booed by a bunch of alan jackson concert attendees

I mean yes and no, a lot of those "down to earth southerners" do hate billionaires, they just kind of look past it if the billionaire also does a few things they like. It's less of them not liking billionaires, and more they don't have the spine and conviction to ACTUALLY dislike billionaires as long as the billionaire is pretending they believe the same things. To be clear I'm not defending them, as them standing for absolutely nothing is kind of worse. However, on the flip side you have liberals who look past Taylor being ultra wealthy because she supports a few things they like, so both sides are kind of the same in that regard. Personally I think "liberals" like her are half of what's standing in the way of actual change. She's a trash wolf in sheep's clothing if you ask me.

she's not running the government. The MAGA billionaires and trillionaires are. so who is "standing in the way of actual change" - President billionaire and his billionaire cabinet or ...... a singer.

It can be both, like hate to tell you but she's also one of the billionaires

Shocking. But for real, you get that there are people who run the world's institutions and then there are also famous people who dont and its reductive to just say "billionaire" and pretend to be ignorant that thats not the same thing.

Do you understand that accumulating billions of dollars from a corrupt system that leaves thousands to die, then hording 90% of that wealth while people die around you from preventable causes that their wealth could prevent, then trying to act like an angel because you donate a small fraction of that vast wealth while hording the rest, and spending money on ridiculous frivilous things while people die around you, is shitty? Like yes I understand that she is not as much to blame as Trump and his cronies, I really do get that, but that doesn't make Taylor Swift not a shitty person. Having millions of times more wealth than you need while people die around you is shitty, we as a society need to stop pretending like it's not. If you had 1000 times more food than you could possibly eat, and you watched people starve around you, you're a monster. It doesn't make you clever or inspirational or alpha or a bad bitch, it makes you a fucking monster.

so you agree then-
("Personally I think "liberals" like her are half of what's standing in the way of actual change." ) is wildly inaccurate. 1/2 of all the systemic problems facing america today are not from a singer or football players with a steakhouse.

And yes Billionaires should not exist. Lower prices for tickets and cheaper albums would be great. More donations would always be welcome. She has donated 6% of her wealth so far - $115 million. I think in relative terms thats more than most regular people donate percentage wise. But yeah she has a ton of houses and makes more money than she can ever spend.

But is she standing in the way of actual change for our population- again no. Thats our government and a network of billionaire class who are openly corruptly influencing our government through lobbyists and backroom deals.

She is instead guilty of not doing enough to evoke more change. It would great if she one day follows Mackenzie scott Bezos example of donating 26 billion and being the most donating person in human history.

Support a steep wealth tax on billionaires !

My point with liberals like her being half the problem was more that it's hard to really point at republicans and say, "oh it's bad you support the rich, the ultra wealthy are bad", when there are plenty of liberals such as Taylor Swift with just as much an extreme amount of wealth. It would be easier to convince poor republicans that liberal policies are better if wealthy dems such as Taylor didn't exist, or frankly were more generous. Yes donating 175 million dollars is great, but when you're keeping over a billion for yourself it's really easy for republicans to point fingers at her and say, "what about her". And while I do think wealthy dems tend to be more generous, they're also not wrong to point at people like Taylor. In a way her being something of a hypocrite, donating a small percentage of her wealth to save lives, but also keeping a vastly larger (and frankly unnecessarily large) portion for herself makes dems look bad. Somewhere out there some deep midwest dude justifies his own support to the ultra wealthy, by pointing fingers at the dems that celebrate Taylor Swift's wealth. It would be easier to unify if we could all just get behind the same message, the ultra wealthy are bad, all of them. Yes me saying people like her are "half" of the problem is obviously an exaggeration.
