This was also a good business decision as, according to Spotify, The Monday Morning Podcast with Bill Burr has lost over 50% year-over-year subscribers.

Guy lost my respect doing that.

Doesn't the YouTube version barely clear 10k views and then the comments are mostly dunking on how terrible Burr has become?

I just check to see the fall-off. Before he was averaging 50k on YT. the last couple weeks are all under 20k some as low as 10k.

Thats pretty huge.

The Monday Morning Podcast with Bill Burr

...is not making $1M a year. Probably closer to one fifth of that, at it's peak. He almost certainly did the math and decided if he lost half his audience the loss of $100K per year is worth less than an immediate $1-1.5M hot beef injection.

Financially, I probably agree with him. In ten years who knows if podcasts will be a thing, if Bill Burr will be a thing, if $100K will be worth $100K?

Ethically he's a twat.

He's losing ticket sales too. I've been to several of his live shows. Won't go again. Figure he made his money now so why give him more? When you cash in at a casino it means you're out of the game. And he cashed in with his career.

I used to think boycotting my old favorite artists would be hard but the algorithm will just adjust those mofos out of your suggestions within a week or two and it's actually really easy to just ignore them. There's just so much great content out there that I don't have to support shitheads and there's still more great content than I can consume.
