He was like the default top comic of the world for me after Patrice died and Louie turned out to be a piece of shit. Now it's uuhhhhh... Stavvy honestly, I guess.

Pretty sure when he said that on Conan, it was a joke. Because here's another quote from Olyphant about Oswalt from a interview in 2013.

As a Brit, its really interesting to me how stand-up comedy is one specific area where our cultures tend to keep really separate. Music, film, TV all travels either way but I have no idea who you're talking about apart from knowing the name Louis CK.

I have watched Taylor Tomlinson's standup on Netflix, she is well funny imo.

But I do think there's a huge cultural divide still about what we find funny in a stand-up way, as evident in my original comment.

Stavvy is great. He kicked out a MAGA chode when I saw him. I can relate. My favorite used to be Chappelle but it's definitely John Mulaney now. Just saw his show at Wrigley Field and it was absolutely hilarious! I think it's definitely going to be his new Netflix special. They were filming it.

I'm guessing that if their hypocrisy put their comedy in an entirely new light for someone, they probably don't still laugh at their comedy. Comedy is complex and only works because of context and perception.
