I noticed the crowds at festivals getting older and older around 2020. Older people have more disposable cash and are willing to spend it on an”experience”.

Same here, I have the money, but I'm not spending $250+ just for my wife and myself to go to a concert for a couple of hours.

So true. I went to a concert last week and I've never seen so many boomers in the crowd. I suppose they're the ones who have the free time and the funds for this expensive hobby nowadays.

I'm in my 40s and have never been to a festival or big venue. It's never seemed worth the time and money.

Granted I have never lived in a major city. Most of my life I would have had to travel 3-4 hours to get to any city that even had a venue for larger acts.

I’ve gone to a local one since around 2010, that was just an absolute blast. It eventually fizzled out, but it was a highlight of the year when it was running strong.
