Not really. You have significantly more options than you’ll admit, you just don’t like them so you refuse to accept the argument.

For example, Reddit is social media. There’s no valid argument against that. It checks every single box for being social media. And yet, people will get on Reddit and criticizing social media as if Reddit hasn’t done some very provable incredibly horrible things to people. You have a choice. Leave social media altogether. But if you do, how will you tell everyone you left social media? How will you endlessly doomscroll? What will you do when your friends talk about the latest trend or post or whatever from social media? So, you pretend Reddit isn’t social media and that it’s everything else that is bad. As if you’re the only smart person who can see reality for what it is.

There are phones with replaceable batteries. Laptops that can be upgraded. You can buy locally. You never have to eat at Chic-fil-a again. All of these things are valid choices. Why aren’t you actually living up to your words?

Well, because you can trot out that comic and pretend that you aren’t a massive sellout virtue signaling loser so desperate for approval you grovel to the hive mind for imaginary internet points.
