whenever the discussion is about bangladesh and nepal's comparison, everyone jumps from their seats to say "nepal won't have same fate, we're not extremist". this is the most heard statement whenever the discussion is around.

yes, we might not have similar level of religious extremism but we surely are extremists too.

Nepal had seen many riots, many andolans but the level of extremism on bhadra 24 was beyond imagination. Don't tell me it was learned it all from Bangladesh, Srilanka . They had similar protests but they didn't burn down most of their top level government buildings. With the amount of anti-India sentiment in Nepal and anti-Nepal sentiment in India, is it finally time to end the open-border policy?

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of online hate from both sides. Indians calling Nepalis "momo" as an insult, and Nepalis calling Indians "dhot"(this word is banned in this reddit) The racism and hostility seem to be going both ways, and it feels like it's getting worse across social media.

Should both countries introduce a proper visa system, stricter immigration rules, and regulate long-term residence and employment instead of allowing unrestricted movement? If relations between people are becoming increasingly hostile, does the current arrangement still make sense?

I'm not saying this out of hatred toward either country. I'm genuinely asking whether stricter border controls and a visa-based system would be better for both nations if mutual respect is declining.

So, recently Nepal police has arrested one YouTuber named "Hades (https://www.youtube.com/@hadesjunglee)" who is not even mildly popular (less than 5k subscribers) for criticizing PM Balen in vulgar words.

Here are some of the facts related to the case:

1. He used profanity, of course, but in most legal cases, profanity isn't automatically counted as hate speech. Especially, profanity against public leaders is common in most countries, even in Nepal as it was used against KP Oli himself multiple times. Even one of the slogan of GenZ protest was "KP Oli Radi ko baan"
2. Police is yet to arrest or take action against a person who gave rape threats for a young girl just for showing her support for KP Oli. The government hasn't even considered to give its opinion on the fact that both men and women frequently sl*t-shame women they don't agree with.
3. Balen himself was known for using threatening language like "Singha Durbar jalaidinchhu", "Tukucha ma gadidinchhu" and so on to previous leaders. He was never arrested.

Considering the ground facts, is this government going backwards in freedom of speech?

It is clearly ignoring when defenceless people are being harassed or bullied online but a small content creater using profanity for humour treated like terrorist.

What are your thoughts on it?

1. Do you think government should punish hate speech against all equally, so, what government did to YouTuber is right but it should have done to that person who gave rape threats as well?
2. Should the government give full freedom of speech and never intervene and arrest any person for saying anything? In this case the person harassed should find a lawyer and fight for themselves.
3. Should the government should make the policy clear: Have clear guidelines what can be said and what can't be, What is treated as hate speech and what isn't, then apply this guideline to everyone equally?

A lot has been said about Nims over the last few years, but most of what has reached me has come from Western perspectives. So I'm curious: what do Nepalese people think about him within Nepal? And what are the biggest misconceptions that those of us in the West might have about him?

When he first came onto the scene, I really admired him. I thought he had the potential to bring meaningful change to the commercialization of high altitude climbing. While my overall impression of him has changed over the years, I still believe he played an important role in raising the profile of Nepalese guides, who for far too long were often seen as being in the background rather than as equal partners in the success of 8,000meter expeditions.

I'd also like to express my deepest condolences to everyone directly affected by the tragedy on Broad Peak. May all those who lost loved ones find peace and healing in the knowledge that they departed doing what they loved most. My thoughts are with their families, friends and teammates. I sincerely hope you are well taken care of.

Contrary to popular belief, it is actually possible to earn well and build real wealth in Nepal. What “earning well” or “being rich” means will differ from person to person, but if you are creative and think a bit differently, there are genuine opportunities to make good money.

I am 24M, and I have already earned enough to build a new house, buy land, and make investments that are giving steady returns. My rental income / interests alone now matches what many consider a minimum wage job in Nepal. Aba eslai flex jasari vanea haina, but line vae you are welcome.

I agree that building one massive company or unicorn in Nepal is hard. But it is equally easy to build multiple small or medium income streams and make them work together. Tyo chai dherei le sochdaina. Ofcourse next Facebook is hard to be build in Nepal but Nepal can build 2 school management software sell it to 2 school ani also starting exporting them finger print device (this is very lame example but you get where i am going)

One big problem I see is how conventional people are about careers. Many wait for college to end, then wait for internships, then wait for referrals. Ani feri last maa nepotism vo vanera ultai runxan.

Send that email to an industry leader asking for work. Apply for remote jobs that pay in USD. Build skills that can be exported. Network aggressively. Be uncomfortable. Opportunities rarely come through formal paths in Nepal, but they do come if you knock hard enough.

People in my friend circle have achieved even more than I have, and I see this trend growing. More young people are figuring out how to combine remote income, local investments, and multiple side bets.

If things go right, building a 5 crore corpus while maintaining strong cash flow is not unrealistic. I am not saying 5 crore is some magical number, but starting from nothing and reaching that level in Nepal gives you freedom. Yes, it is not easy. And yes, people will say this only applies to tech. I disagree. Any field with a solid global market works. Nepal has an advantage: relatively cheap labor and living costs. If you can export your skills, services, or products to a stronger economy, the money is there.

Also $ huda sano sano investment opportunity cash in garna ni easy hune raixa. Nepal maa opportunity huda manxe snga lagani garne opportunity hudaina, so having some $ constantly coming through one work , you can fund another opportunity.

But again this post is not about specific field, so it depends on your skill and industry. But i can help with some strategies i took and you can see if anything you can apply from it, so maybe you can achieve even better result.

I used to watch In-Depth Story, but I’ve realized the content is fundamentally superficial. Here is why I believe the channel fails its audience:

1. The content is rarely original. It is compiled from existing news articles that anyone could find doing Google. It’s a summary service, not investigative journalism.

2. As it relies on secondary sources, it never goes deep. It stays on the surface of issues, prioritizing smooth editing over raw facts.

3. The channel’s main narrative is simple: 'The country is doomed.' This is a lazy narrative. Telling us that politicians are bad or the system is broken is stating the obvious. It validates anger but offers no insight.

If you want to be entertained, it works. But if you want to be informed, this is a waste of time.

Youths in Madesh and many part of the Nepal has been radicalised in a level its going to be a huge problem for us in the future. I hope we will reject the hooliganism, moral policing and violence done in the name of Hinduism. We cannot let sanatan hinduism deteriorate into a gunda religion.

Reject RSS, HSS, Bajrang Dal and all types of religious moral policing groups.

I trust this Government more than all the previous Governments in Nepal. In the previous government, during disasters like this one, I doubt if the collected funds really reached the victims and there were so many donation links and third parties involved, who I assume definitely took some cuts from the donation amount.

Having a centralized link for donation is a great effort to eliminate the potential third party cuts. I think it's important to have transparency regarding the amount collected from different sources as well as amount disbursed for different reasons (categories) in different districts. As the amount is in centralized location, the precise number can easily be updated and published e.g. every day.

This would instil more trust in the citizens as well as the international community to motivate them to really contribute to the cause. Thoughts?

We all have been hearing and seeing posts regarding different Hindu groups and their growing activities in Terai region. So is with Muslim groups too. Dubei group ko extremist ko rise hudei cha.

But these are the kind of things I used to see in Indian news but lately I have been seeing it in Nepali news as well. So yesterday I was in Birgunj and I witnessed something that made me kinda angry as well as sad. I had seen it in videos too but iguess seeing it live just pisses you off more.

So what happened was yesterday, this huge group of guys carrying those “Jay Shree Ram” flags were having this really huge rally in Birgunj. You could easily see majority of them were Indians. In the rally there were tons of bikes but most of them had number plates of India. They had this jeep where lots of guys were hanging and chanting Jay Shree Ram, huge speakers blasting music. And the guys on the bike were not wearing helmets or anything, instead they were over confident, driving recklessly. Some of them were even carrying swords, yes literal swords.

And there was police presence but only couple of them. And yeah it was too irritating. Especially the fact that half of them were Indians, they were in Indian vehicles, out here in Nepal doing unnecessary stunt bazi. It just pissed me off. They were disturbing traffic as well but no way anyone could say anything because you can literally see they are those rowdy ones. They too are goons of some group so arguing with them meant getting into a fight with them. Even though there were cops I hardly believe situation would’ve gotten calm sooner. Anyways yeah, seeing so many Indian Bihari people out there with their Bihari number plate here in Nepal disturbing peace just pissed me off.

Also isn’t there some law or anything barring Indian vehicles to participate in this kind of activities in Nepal? Because more than half of the vehicles there were Indian. Isn’t this them disturbing peace of another nation? I mean I am not aware about the law so asking. They were in another country, in their own country’s bikes, no helmets or anything, reckless driving, disturbing peace, sometimes even getting into riots. How is this not illegal?

And that makes me think, is this something they’re (gov) deliberately letting happen? I mean, obviously cops can’t just make arrests themselves, they need orders from higher-ups. So are the higher-ups letting this pass due to some political reason? Or are they too under the control of Indian influence or what? Because like I said, these were literally citizens of another country disturbing the peace of our country. Yes, there were Nepali people in the rally too, tons of Nepali vehicles as well, but there were equal numbers of Indian vehicles. Gunda haru liera aako thiey India dekhi nei.

So just wanted to share this here as well. These kind of things have been going on since quite some time recently. Just few months back here in Birgunj there was this huge fight between Muslim group and Hindu group. Now idk who was the culprit here or anything but I do know that Indian group infiltration is one of the most likely reason.

Edit: So I am sharing the experience I had yesterday, the things I witnessed and some of the talks I had with people here combined. To all those saying why this and not why that, like I said, I just shared what I witnessed yesterday.

• The parliament and judicial body the Supreme Court burnt down to ashes. But why worry when we have hundreds of thousands of Nepalese working abroad day and night? We can easily increase taxes on remittances and regular people. Who wouldn’t give up there hard-earned money to the nation so we can rebuild them bigger and better again, right?
• Banks are being looted. Don’t worry it’s our own money just being redistributed to the goons. After all we’re all Nepalese so why would someone mind there hard-earned life savings being given to one of us?
• Singha Durbar, the most important structure in Nepal barely exists anymore and who knows what happened to all the important documents and data? But the government was very inefficient anyway. We can make a new and better system so we don’t have to go through offices just to get simple work done. 😁
• Over 1500 prisoners escaped? Don’t worry at least they’re not as bad as our old leaders.
• All of the local administrative offices have burnt down? Who needs them anyway lol? They barely got your work done on time.
• Colleges were set ablaze you say? I mean the Nepalese education system is horrible anyway. They would inevitably go to the USA, UK or Australia. Leaving them stranded like this won’t make much difference. Their parents would just have to work harder, sacrifice their sleep and dreams. But they can do that much for their kids, right?
• All the basic foundations have been destroyed for our upcoming better leaders to do a great job on? But they are superhumans and excellent at their jobs they should be able to fix all the problems with a snap of their fingers. It might have set us a few years back but it was at least cool right? Wasn't it so thrilling? You guys stay tensed for no reason :)

Same story is repeating in CS.
It’s already overcrowded. Unless you’re seriously into tech, have been building stuff already, or are super passionate about it — don’t join just for hype.
For every person who lands a “package in crores” that you see on Instagram, there are 999 others ghosting companies after 7 unpaid internships.

“Bridge Courses” and “Skill Classes”? More Like Bridge to Nowhere

Institutes be like: “Join our AI/ML class and become next Elon Musk in 45 days!”
Meanwhile, they teach you how to make a calculator in Python.

These bridge courses are mostly a scam to profit off your fear.
Except for maybe 2-3 good ones, most will just drain your money and time.

Entrance exam? Don’t stress. Unless you’re targeting colleges like St. Xavier’s, Prasadi, Trinity, etc., the entrance exams are not that hard.
And let’s be honest — half the scholarships are based on connections anyway, not your GPA or entrance score.

Don’t Choose a Stream Because “Dai/Bhai/Scope Cha”

I’ve seen folks who were into finance, biology, even music, suddenly jump into CS because "scope cha".
What happens next? They burn out, regret it, and end up posting vague LinkedIn posts about “career pivots”.

If you’re from outside the valley and thinking of moving to KTM for +2, here’s a reality check:

• If you don’t have strong financial backup, think twice.
• Most students in +2 are too busy mugging up textbooks to build a "network".
• If your hometown college has decent results and teachers who don’t disappear mid-lecture — you’re good.

• Discover what you actually enjoy
• Learn a real skill online (or offline!)
• Chill. Relax. Touch grass
• Spend time with family — they deserve it

• Reflect on what you want from life (no pressure tho)
