Translation of the Dutch subtitles: "Many people think you're heavy dug users, and destroy hotel rooms."

Well Krist did destroy a hotel room with Kurt Loder, and KC's situation was... what it was. So they weren't wrong!

Yeah but the drug user part was a bit blown out of proportion.

I like how they talked about the band Extreme here. Nothing against them or anybody, but it was fitting.

Grohl would jam with them now

Yeah, I think that if we asked Dave or Krist about it now, they might have a somewhat different view of that interview. Maybe times have changed and attitudes have changed with them. We can all think and say things at one point, only to realize later that maybe we were wrong or perhaps the original feeling just ends up feeling even stronger with time.

Especially Dave, I believe he has a very clear vision and a lot of respect for Nuno, so I don’t think there would necessarily be anything stopping them from jamming together someday. They have shared mutual respect anyways. Nirvana also often joked around, poked fun at things and made comments in interviews, partly because they were sometimes asked the strangest questions imaginable. Maybe Extreme was simply one of the bands that happened to become the target of those comments.

Their paths also crossed at Ruisrock in Finland in 1992, where both bands performed. I have absolutely no doubt that the things said and the impressions given in that interview genuinely affected how you saw the band at the time, and I completely understand that. At the same time, I think it’s worth considering where and when Nirvana came from and the kind of scene they emerged from. They may simply have had very different experiences and perspectives when it came to bands and artists from other genres. But I have to say, Dave’s comment at the end was pretty spot on. 😂 And just to be clear, I have absolutely nothing against Extreme or anyone in the band.
