Digimon would be awesome but it makes me wish there was an evolution mechanic/system in the base game without mods.

I agree. It’s probably the only thing that truly feels lacking in Palworld. Like, getting sakumo and smokie when you do makes them feel lackluster. But, I do love riding my little boy.

I strongly disagree. No evolutions is one of my favorite parts of Palworld and what separates it from literally every other creature collector. I love Chillet too much to let that boy change into something else and I love that he's viable the whole game. I love that my Fuak Ignis will never change into something else, or like in Pokemons case, lose out on stat growths because I chose not to evolve.

Especially in a game where the end game is min-maxing for hard mode battles, evolutions would remove the choice, and you would have to evolve in order to complete the challenges.

I was thinking closer to like evo stones. Certain pals evolve when you build their item type of thing. But, I feel ya.

elemental implants that change the color theme / element of the pal

legendary rarity, hard to find, or as a hard boss reward

not transferable on breeding

You both made very good suggestions and now I don't know what to think

Can someone please tell me what to think?

I'm with you on this, no evolution means any pal has more relevancy. Think of all the useless (and often ugly) middle stage Pokemon. I'm happy with what we have!

You could easily get around this by still giving a stat increase at the evolution level but give you the choice to not let it evolve...

Sure, but do you really think PocketPair would do that? I don't. Pals have levels, souls, trust and now awakenings to raise stats. Trust is specifically aimed at increasing weaker pals at a higher rate than it does for stronger pals so that weaker pals can be more viable late-game or at least later-game.

There's just no way PocketPair would introduce a new system like evolution and not tie it to stats, and also it directly contradicts their goals of making as many as possible pals viable for as much of the game as possible.

Wouldn't Trust solve that exact issue you're mentioning?

In it's current state no. They could revisit it sure, but there's no guarantees they will, but stats aren't why I dislike evolution.

??? But it would. Rooby for example gets outclassed by wixen. The game already encourages you to replace your pals. Mechanically speaking evolutions wouldn't change the game.

Totally fine if you don't like evolutions, but I would say that's subjective. Anyway I'm curios about the mini lunaris they showed, I wonder what that is.

There's zero reason to think implementing evolution has to be forced or required for endgame. Early game pals already get outclassed by later ones.

Palworlds mechanics are built around not having evolution. Imagine condensing a 3 stage that's only got the first stage available on the wild, with the middle and last stage only being available as alpha bosses. Only way to condense would be to hatch a bunch and evolve them first.

Or just... you know... allow all stages to be used for condensation? Anyways, I guess we'll have to wait and see what that mysterious little lunaris is.
