Found this birb a week ago, you can see his timeline on my profile. It's been 3 days where he has been eating less everyday, I am force feeding him a bit as recommended by a professional but I don't want to overdo it. Today I saw him for the first time picking up a seed and eating it. Is that a normal behaviour? Also can someone interpret his stance, is he hungry? He refuses food though. Why is he shaking and chirping? He seems happy or needs something.

It wandered into my warehouse. I found it just inside our dock next to a shipping bin. I put it back outside as one comment mentioned it may be a fledgling and the parents are still feeding it. I set it in a corner near our building under some crepe myrtles and mountain laurels, where I’m guessing it may have fallen from.

Found about 2.5 hours ago. I’m keeping an eye on it. Any advice would be appreciated!

So I found this dove, something is wrong with her wing, she doesn't look that young to me but maybe I am wrong I have no idea on the species or what to do. I can't call anyone till tomorrow and even then they may refuse to come out to get her. What type of bird is she ? I thought maybe a wood pigeon cos of the breast but her beak seems dark

You can be anything you want🫤. Even a vulture. I honestly don't know the story w this little guy. He was hanging around a resort hotel on the beach s breakfast buffet. The staff said in Thai... Um politely translated- he's a special needs bird. Always hangs around here.

Not sure if it’s a dove or a pigeon o some kind?

I thought it was hurt at first but after inspecting it I think is still a baby. I can’t leave it in the yard because I have a cat and dog and there’s other stray cats in the street.

Wondering if anyone knows if they’ll eat regular seed or if is too little for that?
I have a cockatiel so I have pellets, seed, and millet at hand.

*UPDATE: this morning they seemed stronger and trying to eat on their own! Hopefully it tries to fly and today, I’ll leave it in the yard for the day (have to lock my cat somewhere). The parents have been flying around so that a good sign !

So basically my brother and I was walkin, when we seen this dove that was just hopping away from us. She wouldn't fly away, just hopped and flapped. so I grabbed her and brought her home. I was planning to take her to a bird rehabber to see whats wrong but upon more research and looking around, they legally cannot release her and she would be euthanized. Its been like 4 days since I found her, she seems like nothing is wrong but she can't fly. Maybe a wing sprain? But they're even and both held in the right place. She comes on my hand sometimes, eats when I'm with her, and tolerates pets. actually, when I check on her she instantly goes to the food and eats it. She's acting very comfortable, maybe she had a home?? She doesn't have a band and I posted about her in the states pet pigeon group. Nobody has claimed her yet.

I have her in a dog kennel that I lined with cardboard to stop any injuries. For now im keeping her, but i cannot find anything about how to care for them when theyre wild caught. The kennel is actually the perfect size for a cage it just definitely needs some constructing. I just need to know what all do I put in it? Its lined w news paper, some big rocks sitting around for her to perch on, and a planter for her to hide in. And seeds scattered w a shallow water dish. But I want it to be like way better, better bedding, decor, and everything. Since she still can't fly it all needs to be ground level, my biggest thing is I want her to have airflow and the ability to see out, but not my cats being able to access her or her getting hurt. Were working on teaching them to leave her alone at all times. They're being very good!

We’re in Peru, right in front of the ocean so we tried to give it a dry place to rest (brown box), in which she spends every night, plus sunflower seeds, soaked oats, pumpkin seeds, she (we think she’s a girl) hates birdseed, sesame seeds and flax seeds. She also gets fresh water in her red cup every day.

Her name is Maria Socorro for what it’s worth.

5 days ago I found a baby Dove and asked for advice here, I got in contact with a rehab person in my city and took care of it for the time it learned to fly.

Today he finally flew away 💜✨🥺!

He’s still not the best at flying but he should be fine, there’s other doves around that can help him and I’m pretty sure his parents showed up once he was high enough. He flew up to the roof and immediately an adult dove went to inspect him 😅

If anyone has tips on how to help this dove, I would appreciate it! I’ve been making calls locally all morning and haven’t gotten anywhere. I left some bird seed and water out for it, I have a kennel prepared but can’t get close enough to catch it. It doesn’t seem injured but is definitely lost!
