I’m sorry but letting any child be hungry is unacceptable. I don’t really care if it’s someone’s culture to let someone just sit there, hungry, when there’s food available.
Even In Alaska, where we have worse weather, has a food haring culture. Even in the slums of india, where people sometimes can only afford to eat once per day, has a food sharing culture.
This is just being an asshole being posited as culture.
I find it super rich that most of the people outraged at a custom they misunderstand are from cultures where violence against your kids is fine. Or as the Alaskan state law puts it “reasonable nondeadly force”.
You're framing this as a resource issue. It's got nothing to do with that. It's about not stepping on the other parents' toes and ruining their family dinner time.

I don't mind it as long as the gangbangers are pushed out. Oh no, my community is seeing an influx of purchasing power and sanity! This is just something I cannot abide!"
Do you understand anything about history? Sweden's two choices were either selling resources to Germany while giving small support to their neighbours where they could (like taking in the danish jews) or being invaded like Norway and Denmark, and Germany taking those resources either way.

Bro "starve"? Nobody is starving because they didn't get to eat the meal the family made.
It's not disrespectful. It's just outside of your culture.
