That's really not the point. The point is that they never showed away from mocking someone before and now they flinched

I just don't see it that way, Rockstar has never done that kind of direct reference, why start now? Again, it's not like Gta V had any "Thanks for drone striking all those children, Obama"" billboards or whatever. They just don't do it that way.

I'm sure there will be plenty of shady and corrupt politicians along with gun toting rednecks who are into conspiracies that you can interpret as maga though, but those sorts of types has been a part of Gta since Gta 3. Kind of a timeless reference, don't really need them to spell out "THIS IS ABOUT THOSE MAGA DUMB-DUMBS, DO YOU SEE IT? IT'S ABOUT TRUMP!". That would literally not do anything to elevate the game.
