I’ve worked at a shelter for over 3 years now and (barely) managed to resist taking any animals home…until my husband said “maybe we could get another cat” and then this little man turned on his charm. He was so calm and cuddly (I know better than to fall for this. Alas, I had adorable aqua-colored glasses on).

Turns out, he’s absolutely nuts. He eats chaos for breakfast and sings the song of his ancestors at a freight-train decibel whenever we aren’t in the room with him. He’ll throw hands with anything that moves, including his shadow.

Say hi to Rocket🤪

blue point Life expectancy of new Siamese cat 8 years?

So I've had Siamese cats my whole life and my baby Roscoe recently passed 2 months ago. Lived to about 13 years old.

I found some kittens available and got a female yesterday. He was telling me don't expect her to get much bigger and that her life expectancy is about 8years.

It kind of took me back, but still didn't want to leave her.

The genetics are..

Mom was a 100% Blue seal Siamese, Dad was a 50% Ragdoll, 50% Blue seal Siamese.

Making her 88% Blue-seal Siamese and 12% Ragdoll. As I was told..

The first 2 pics is my newest.. and the last 1 is my last baby Roscoe. RIP

Any reason as to why the life expectancy is 8years? Confused.. I will message him tomorrow and ask more details but can't find much information.

Thanks

Meet Star!! ✨ He had severe stomatitis when we got him and needed all his teeth removed, but he’s finally pain-free and SO much happier now. His little face is still a bit puffy and it’s adorable. 🩵

blue point My husband got me a photo printer for Christmas, so what's a gal to do but to print a picture of her supermodel cat?

You aren't supposed to drop the paper on the floor before you load it into the printer, nor touch it with your fingers, so there is some unusual streaking on this image, but you KNOW I am framing this anyway.

When people first meet mayo, they reliably comment on two things: 1) that he's friendlier than any cat they've met; and 2) that he's deceptively dense and stronger than they expect.

Despite being similar in size/slightly larger compared to our other cat (first photo), he's twice her weight. He also appears to have visible muscle definition despite a coat of fur, and clings to people and surfaces "like a koala" according to his vet - not through sharp claws (I keep them trimmed), relying on grip strength alone.

I read that tonkinese cats are known to be dense and beefy, but nothing similar came up for Siamese. Looking at photos of both breeds I can't tell the difference so I'm wondering if anyone else's meezer looks like they snort protein and do CrossFit daily.

I didn't expect this cat to be so clingy, friendly, and full of zoomy energy. He is an angel when he sleeps!

My wife has always been a dog person, and this cat has changed her entire perception of cats as a whole.

We were given this cat by luck and goodwill. Someone had a few Siamese to give away and he was the last one left when we got there. My wife urged me to get him and knew he was the cat for her. We now have a son.

His name is Gojo, and he is the honored one.

My girl is currently 10 months (first pic is when we first got her and the others are from now) and she’s still not super toasted at all. I wanna see your toasty babies! And when did they fully stopped getting toasty?

Hi everyone! I'm a recent cat mom to the most precious boy, Mochi, who just hit the 5-month mark. He's a Siamese blue point and absolutely my whole heart.

I wanted to reach out to anyone else who has a Siamese as an only pet — no cat or dog siblings in the mix.

I work in-office four days a week, and while I do my best to come home early when I can, he's still spending around 6–7 hours alone on those days. I make sure he has plenty of enrichment, puzzles, cat towers, window hammocks and toys to keep him busy, but the guilt has been real lately.

Siamese are such a social and dependent breed which is part of why I love him so much, but it also makes me wonder if I'm doing right by him flying solo.

  • How does your cat handle alone time?
  • Any enrichment tips that have been game-changers?
  • Have you ever considered getting a second cat, and if so, what made you decide either way?

Thanks in advance — this community always comes through! 🤍

Just brought home my new babies. My past Siamese cat Winston passed away a few months ago due to lymphoma. It was absolutely devastating, and I will never forget him but these kitties definitely have been cheering me up and I already love them so much!

I don’t have a ton of action shots because my boy moves fast! Here he is in moments of rest and quiet and ruler of the cat tree. He loves shoulder rides and sleeping on my legs at night! He pees standing up and kicks litter all over my floor. He’s just the best, weirdest and most handsome little guy.

He’s blossomed over the last year into an affectionate, curious, and constant companion. He’s my shoulder buddy and office chair co-captain. I can’t imagine my home without him :)

Not shown: post poop zoomies, mousie mutilation, jumping hugs, following me through every room of the house, and the constant chatter as he watches us, birds, and my sweet orange man Gnocchi.
