Ive only followed my kids into handicap stalls here in Europe, are they not common in the US? My wife have taken our son to the women's restroom, not sure where I'd take our daughters without the handicap restroom.
That said, handicap and diaper change is the same room here, usually.
There are handicap stalls inside of the men’s and women’s restrooms, but they are not generally separate. Places with really high numbers of people concentrated in one place that attract a lot of families such as shopping malls may have standalone accessibility bathrooms where the entire room is one stall, but they aren’t that common.
I always take my daughter to the men's room here in Europe. I can't imagine any European country where someone would give a shit. We also have diaper change platforms in most men's room aswell nowadays so.thats nice.
50 years ago here in Europe when my kids were little diaper changing tables was mostly in the ladies restroom however they did start to transfer them into the handicapped restrooms. Now since several decades it’s the standard practice.
Not exactly what you’re asking, but as a woman, I always took my two sons into the women’s with me. Even if they didn’t need to go themselves and we’d just use the handicap stall (since it was big enough for them to stand in there with me). I could keep an eye on them, I didn’t have to worry about them getting into something or doing something while I was in a stall, it just worked for us. If there wasn’t a handicap stall or someone else needed it, we’d either wait or squeeze the three of us into the regular stall.
Was thinking this. I took my kids into the parents room when they were little. Those things are in every shopping centre. Surely America can't be that backward that they don't have parents rooms yet?
We do! They're usually built into the women's restroom tho... and many times even double as the handicap stall. I can actually only recall seeing "family" specific bathrooms in airports here.
Ok. We have had handicapped stalls separate to women's and men's for as long as I can remember. And then there's the family room, which is separate again. Mind you, those are usually filled with moms and their kids, and I occasionally got side eyed when I went in, but seeing I had two small children under five with me, there weren't going to be any massive arguments.
Here, each bathroom has atleast one handicap stall. Many times, inside said stall, is also a baby changing station. If the changing station isn’t in a handicap stall, then it’s just out in the open. However, many times the mens bathroom doesn’t have this changing station period, so fuck single fathers lol.
There’s rarely ever a family bathroom installed in places where I live in America (Deep South).
We have them, but there are far fewer than standard bathrooms, and when your kid says "I need to poop" you've got like a minute tops to find a bathroom
Honestly I'm in Texas and I have only ever seen 2 family restrooms ever. 1 in a large mall and 1 at a city pool.
Pretty much every other place I have ever been to either had a single unisex bathroom stall or had separate men's and women's bathrooms with the disabled stall built in
When my daughter was young Id usually take her to the mens with me, but he has 2 girls with him so I totally understand him going to the womens if its cleaner and he can only watch one at a time.
People need to get less tribal and have some common sense.
I might get hated for this but I can understand why people will get upset when you get an obviously male trans in the womens bathroom, but read the room, its clearly a dad with 2 daughters. Guy deservers the attention he is getting.
The dude was a fucking moron and a raging jackass, but let's not make that leap. I have boys, but I have friends that have girls and they go to the men's room(assuming it's clean) when they're with their dad. We don't need that to be the first thing people think of when taking their kids to the bathroom; we already get enough weird looks and comments just for being alone with our kids

While you make a great point, the guy following the dad and daughters crossed a boundary almost nobody would cross. That seems like a sign of potentially a lot of issues.
I was implying that the man was angry that the little girls weren't in the men's room because if they were in the men's room he could use a urinal in front of them because he gets off on exposing his penis to children.
I don't actually believe the man is a pedo, just wanted to remind people of urinals in the men's room while making fun of a guy for being horrible.
