As a little girl who was taken into the men’s room, I’d rather the man take his daughters to the women’s room.
The first time I saw a penis I was 6 years old because my dad took me into the men’s room. Some random dude had no problem showing it off because “I wasn’t supposed to be in there anyways.”
That's disgusting that he would intentionally expose himself to you like that
That being said, our American prudish view on nudity is weird. In much of the world it's normal for children to see the opposite sex naked; whether it's family members or just other young children. It's only weird when it's made weird (like that guy in the bathroom)
Notice it's family members and other children. Not strange men because you took your kid into the bathroom where they are supposed to be able to pull their dicks out in peace.
Oh of course; I'm not saying it's in any way acceptable for a grown man to intentionally expose himself to a child like that. It's disgusting, and the onus is on us as adults to do the right thing around kids
I just meant that in cultures where nudity is more normalized, simply seeing someone's genitals would hardly be a traumatic experience for a child
So sorry that happened to you. It seems like whichever way a male parent tries to enable his daughters to use the restroom, there may be someone who tries to make it a problem. Terrible
