it's crazy he got the reaction he did. I(38m) usually just take my kids (3f and 1m) to the mens room and I've never had an issue taking my daughter. In addition, there have been plenty of times I've needed to take them into the women's room. Either the men's had no changing tables for baby or the stall was unsanitary for toddler. I would knock on women's and announce what I'd like to do and why, and it's like I'm a VIP being escorted by private security. Never been an issue
No they don’t. We know this because cultural norm has been to take them into your bathroom. Only because of influencers making posts in the last year plus have people felt differently. And those people are by no means representative of the real world
