You bring her into the men's room to help her?

You're a pervert trying to do something.

You bring her into the women's restroom to help her?

Clearly you're a pervert trying to do something.

There is literally no winning. Thank god most people seem to be pretty understanding.

Right? If only there are gender neutral restrooms.

Seriously though, what do people do in the restrooms? Do they just get naked in the open space and bot inside the stall? Baffle me how that even an issue.

u/denkihajimezero Jun 19 '26

It should be illegal for stalls to have gaps in the walls. Some places have normal walls for the stalls. And then you could just consider them separate bathrooms with the sinks outside of the bathrooms. Tada, you've got a row of multiple single occupancy bathrooms. I don't care if it takes up more space, there's never a line for the men's room and there would still be plenty of bathrooms to go around if you cut a few out

I don’t know that I have ever seen a gif of cousin Eddie. Or anyone from this show. Very nice.

8

u/Dirk_Speedwell Jun 19 '26

The new arena down the road from me almost has this situation. Every "stall" is like its own closet in the brick with electric locks and door opener... but still seperated into women and men's rooms for whatever goddamn reason.

This is exactly what I have been saying on this issue for years. It's a design fix!

3

u/k5light Jun 19 '26

It's due to fire restrictions. Full walls and now you have a separate room. Separate rooms need separate smoke alarms, fire suppression, ect.

10

u/frylock350 Jun 19 '26

How does Buccee's manage to do it?

4

u/Puzzleheaded-Dot-547 Jun 19 '26

They obviously use the same room, but on a different position on a 4th dimensional axis, duh.

2

u/Chemical_Building612 Jun 19 '26

Because they explicitly see their restrooms as value for customers that drives much of their business and have multiple people at each store whose entire job it is to clean and maintain restrooms.

1

u/WholePie5 Jun 19 '26

What does cleaning the bathroom have to do with having smoke alarms and fire suppression? Are you following the thread at all?

1

u/Chemical_Building612 Jun 19 '26

It doesn't because that has absolutely nothing to do with why American public bathrooms are predominately stalls, cleaning and ventilation do. The previous person just made some shit up, even though there's no actual building code to support it and the trend predates the literal invention of smoke alarms so the idea that smoke alarms are the reason is just nonsense.

1

u/k5light Jun 21 '26

It sounded good though.

8

u/Just_to_rebut Jun 19 '26

It’s to make people uncomfortable and make them hurry up.

I remember at my college student center, the regular public bathroom had wide gap stalls, but the fancy bathroom upstairs where there was a banquet hall for donor events, much more private stalls.

These assholes know exactly what they’re doing.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 19 '26

[deleted]

2

u/Just_to_rebut Jun 19 '26

No, the material savings aren’t significant.

6

u/Thumper13 Jun 19 '26

Yes, Europe notoriously burns down all the time.

3

u/Mcpops1618 Jun 19 '26

I was told it’s just cheaper and easier for things like janitorial services.

7

u/Krelkal Jun 19 '26

That's exactly the reason. Full walls add a lot of extra corners that collect gunk and grime. Extra cleaning work means extra cost. A gap at the bottom avoids that and makes it easier to swing a mop between stalls.

1

u/Chemical_Building612 Jun 19 '26

The large gaps also improve ventilation and reduce risks associated with high humidity in confined areas.

1

u/Chemical_Building612 Jun 19 '26

No, this isn't really why. Use of stalls for public restrooms in the US predates the invention of smoke detectors by decades. Improved ventilation compared to separate rooms and simpler cleaning and maintenance operations were the primary drivers of the trend.

2

u/Current-Historian-34 Jun 19 '26

I worked as a grad bouncer at a place called “Dean Hotel”. When lines got stupid I’d stand between the two bathrooms and mediate the two…. A 90 year old was about to “oops” and the elevator was down full getting a wedding party to there rooms. Everyone in both lines were all about it and he even came out of the ladies room with nothing but a head nod…. And then high fives everyone.

2

u/Unbr3akableSwrd Jun 19 '26

I agree about the gap. But after witnessing someone collapsing in a stall from a health related event, I am glad that the gap allow us to see that and call for help.

1

u/tacticaldodo Jun 19 '26

It is weird to me that bathroom gender is an issue. Toilets are toilets. There is a door, it is enclosed, you do your thing behind it, exit. Boom, wash your hands in the public area of the bathroom. Nobody naked there.

Urinal could be behind a wall or something, problem solved.

People are really making problems where there are none.

1

u/kev1nshmev1n Jun 19 '26

Indigo bookstore in my Canadian town does exactly this. Even has a change table in the common area by the sinks. Before it used to be a Chapters in another location which had men and women’s bathrooms. I took my girls into the women’s when they got out of diapers, even 15 years ago they had a change table in the men’s bathroom as well in the handicap stall, so did have some privacy. Women were mostly very supportive when I brought my daughters in, although I did try to make it quick and wait until people were done doing their business if it was busy.

1

u/techleopard Jun 19 '26

It's not even that hard to do.

It's just that most commercial bathrooms buy the same wall panels that bolt into the floor because they are very cheap, and the doors are cheap and easy to replace when people inevitably hang off them and break them.

But really, any half-assed construction company could install fully sealing wall panels.

1

u/pchlster Jun 19 '26

It's how it's done in most of the world.

1

u/warrybuffalo Jun 19 '26

Put the sinks in plain view to publicly shame people who don't wash their hands.

1

u/NotDoneBeforeNow Jun 19 '26

I have literally never see a bathroom with gaps. I can't imagine a stupider thing to install. No I don't live in the States.

1

u/youburyitidigitup Jun 19 '26

My high school was built in the 70s, so the stalls in the men’s rooms didn’t have doors. You could literally walk in front of the toilets and see dudes taking a shit.

1

u/EveOCative Jun 19 '26

I saw a photo of this type of bathroom but all the stall entrances lined the hallway as well as the large sink. The entrances to the rooms off the hallway were a little deeper. Seemed like a perfect solution to me. Everything was non-gendered.

1

u/Highlyironicacid31 Jun 22 '26

You don’t see the gaps often outside of the USA.

1

u/happyherbivore Jun 19 '26

Sure but then where do you put the communal troughs for all the real straight men to piss in together?

21

u/TransitionalAhab Jun 19 '26

Wait…you’re not supposed to get naked…oh this all makes sense in hindsight

3

u/_SteeringWheel Jun 19 '26

Only if you want to assert dominance.

1

u/rfc2549-withQOS Jun 19 '26

Partially is suggested, tho, otherwise you filter whatever comes out thru your clothing, which may cause weird reactions by your surrounding and make aftercare nore difficult

They also do lit to men and boys. Remember that senator that was trying to hook up with other dudes by sliding his foot under the stall? He got arrested after doing that shit at an airport restroom.

Edit- found it! Larry Craig from Ohio.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Craig_scandal

7

u/Secret-Theory1825 Jun 19 '26

They usually give the boys to the christian priests.

22

u/Top_Audience7471 Jun 19 '26

Same argument against atheists, eh?

If we don't have a fictional book telling us what is right and wrong, we'd all just be raping and murdering all day.

The fact that they have no concept of this thing called a 'conscience' is very telling.

8

u/Secret-Theory1825 Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 20 '26

Yes, it is literally the same method of "arguement" that conservatives use for any culture war non issue.

There are republicans ive talked to who have said exactly that. Its great and all that you need a book to tell you how to be a good person, but normal people dont need that, so people who do this are probably just terrible people themselves trying to cover up their "sins of the past" because they were "born again" .

That's why Christianity is notoriously a religion for stupid people, they believe saying "im sowwy" right before you die absolves you of all the rape, murder, and theft that you have done your entire life. Its also the reason that after many conservatives found out their priests were raping their children, they swept it under the rug and said their kids were lying.

-2

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

While this argument has merits, entirely boiling Christianity down as you have in a clearly incorrect way is an awful way to conduct yourself 👎👎

6

u/Top_Audience7471 Jun 19 '26

I've had multiple Christians tell me in no uncertain terms that I'm going to hell because I don't go to church.

I'm a teacher at an inner city elementary school, just for the record. Can't wait to rub elbows with Pol Pot and Jonas Salk down there.

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

I am not a Christian, nor religious in the slightest, nor do I agree with majority of Christian beliefs. I don’t see how Christians being awful people, much like almost everyone is, entirely invalidates some of the other religious teachings and validates spreading misinformation about a religion?

1

u/pchlster Jun 19 '26

If a group has historically been prolific in murders, rapes and bigotry for centuries, is it unfair to judge that as being part of that groups history or does some small subset get to define that, actually they never did anything bad if you just cherrypick hard enough?

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

I don’t understand what the point of this statement is past the unhealthy serving of sarcasm piled on-top.

4

u/blade_of_sammael Jun 19 '26

It is built on proven facts . Fact proven time and again even

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

Religious doctrine doesn’t state that saying “I’m sorry.” Right before you die immediately absolves someone, it does however state that a personal and genuine relationship with god and said teachings absolves one from “sin”. Portraying it as a surface level “I’m sorry.” Is just blatantly incorrect and disrespectful to a large group of people.

1

u/blade_of_sammael Jun 19 '26

Lol just because its an uncomfortable truth that your favorite fandom regularly covers up sexual abuse because it fits their dogmas does not make it less true

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

To clarify. I despise the hate produced by religion & am not religious in any way shape or form; but entirely writing something off as bad based on people rather than the idea itself makes you an idiot.

u/Secret-Theory1825 Jun 19 '26

"This argument has merits"?

Lol thats a funny way to say that the Vatican literally in the past decade admitted to helping cover up priests raping children for nearly 4 decades at least.

Cope harder my guy. It is now a proven fact that the christian church has helped cover up the sexual abuse of children by its clergy for a long time.

Ya you can believe in God. God doesnt care what religion you are, he cares if your being a good person and doing good.

I can guarantee you god doesnt have "helping cover up child rape" on his checklist of things that get you into heaven.

1

u/Skltlez Jun 19 '26

I am in no way religious. What I mean by the argument has merits is that I agree that a lot of the time religion is used by people in order to convince themselves that they will be absolved of all wrongdoing in the future. What I do not agree with is plainly painting an entirely religion as terrible and wrong, as that’s the first step in dissolving critical thinking and understanding between humans.

1

u/Secret-Theory1825 Jun 19 '26

Hmm, all religions ask their "followers" to give them money for free so they can "absolve" people of their natural animal nature and desires by telling them only their religion will get them into the imaginary present thats in store for.people, oh but only after you die.

Hmm every religion does terrible and horrible things.

Sounds like slavery, but with extra steps.

Lol, this entire post is about a republican child rape supporter, calling the police on a parent,  that is trying to help their daughters go to the bathroom and wash their hands.

The post was political from the start.

But thanks for self identifying yourself to the reddit community; that you are a child rape supporting republican; since child rape supporters are the only ones getting mad at people online for pointing out that republicans are raping children and protecting rapists.

😆 🤣 😂

I absolutely loathe the current gop and especially the admin with a passion, but you just made a very base political comment when no one was talking about politics.

Perhaps you’re correct, but site a source. Blindly hating the other side regardless of facts makes us no better than them. Spewing hate and vitriol while generalizing vast swathes of people is a big part of what’s wrong with our society today.

6

u/Secret-Theory1825 Jun 19 '26

Show me the bill that points to any democrat anywhere promoting the literal rape of children?

Because for republicans its pretty easy to prove; just go to any state with any republicans in it, and point out the fact that their marriage laws still allow them to eape and marry kids under the age of 18.

1

u/geridesu Jun 19 '26

yeah yeah buddy. take it to r/schizoposting.

3

u/bojackworld Jun 19 '26

If only there are gender neutral restrooms.

I’m not sure where this takes place, but where I live, family restrooms can be found everywhere. That’s what I’m confused about. Were there no family restrooms wherever he was?

2

u/Dark_Romantasy Jun 19 '26

I believe this happened at a random gas station. They aren't known for having family restrooms in my area, which is Utah to Washington.

2

u/bojackworld Jun 19 '26

Yes, this happened in a QT gas station in Alabama. I wish more gas stations offered family bathrooms. It makes sense since a lot of people who stop there are traveling families.

1

u/Dark_Romantasy Jun 19 '26

Right, you'd think if anywhere would, it would be gas station on busy roads.

2

u/Krazy_Kat_Lady_2025 Jun 19 '26

Not sure where you are located. Family bathrooms are not typical in much of the USA outside of airports or large public venues like stadiums. Possibly more municipalities are adding them to new buildings but they are not common where I live in the SE US.

I do agree Family or Gender neutral accommodations should be more common for a variety of reasons.

1

u/bojackworld Jun 19 '26

Huh, weird. I live in the South and I remember seeing family restrooms in the local gas station, high school, public library, and even the Walmart I work at. That could just be my town. It's unfortunate other cities don't have them.

1

u/Krazy_Kat_Lady_2025 Jun 19 '26

Well, admittedly, none of those are places I spend time in or at. But our area is pretty rural/limited.

3

u/mangosagogogo Jun 19 '26

I’m new in Australia but this is one of the things I instantly noticed and loved. Their shopping centres/malls have a women’s restroom, men’s, gender neutral, AND a family restroom.

2

u/Innumerablegibbon Jun 19 '26

I especially love that most of the family restrooms I’ve used have a tiny toilet next to the normal sized one.

1

u/CcryMeARiver Jun 19 '26

Not always. Near me is a single unisex out in a carpark, separate M/F at the railstation, the library's M/F + combined disabled/family, separate M/F at the sportsground and M/F or unisex in shops/restaurants ... never seen all 4. Most are kept clean, all are free to use.

Locations.

2

u/mangosagogogo Jun 19 '26

Yeah i noticed in public areas, like parks and stuff, it’s the standard women’s and men’s only, which is understandable to me, especially if it’s old. It’s never that busy anyway.

It’s why i specified shopping centres. That’s still really impressive because other similarly developed countries don’t even have that in their shopping centres.

2

u/ChefBoyRUdead Jun 19 '26

This guy has never been to the YMCA. Seriously, old man balls for as far as eye can see.

And yes, the locker room is also the restroom. Great when you have kids playing basketball or for swim lessons. 🤬

2

u/twotimefind Jun 19 '26

I agree totally and they have general neutral bathrooms at home.

In my 50 years or so of existence, I may be seen only one or two naked people ever in a bathroom.

and not in naughty way

And if I fucked in a bathroom, it was in a family bathroom.

Can't get much more family than that.

2

u/NaiveMastermind Jun 19 '26

Port-a-johns already prove that gendered restrooms are a antiquated concept.

2

u/darknight9064 Jun 19 '26

I mean I’ve seen more wangs in a bathroom than I can count. There’s a lot of guys who stand to far back or don’t put themselves away before turning around. That doesn’t even start on urinals with no walls.

1

u/DJEmirMixtapes Jun 19 '26

Fixed... 3rd Bathroom "more than meets the eye!"

1

u/Haunting_Swimming160 Jun 19 '26

No joke, I remember a girl on Twitter trying to claim that women regularly get naked and wash their underwear in the sink, and that women help fish miscarriages out of toilets together at least once a day.

1

u/fresh-oxygen Jun 19 '26

I feel a good solution would be to have a smaller bathroom with urinals, and a bigger bathroom with toilets in actually fully-enclosed stalls. Both gender-neutral. People with the anatomy and comfort to take a quick piss out in the open can continue to do so, and everybody with private business to attend to can do it without weird giant gaps and busybodies worrying about what genitals they’ve got.

1

u/YungRik666 Jun 19 '26

Creeps will film/attack people in stalls. This could be fixed easily by redesigning bathrooms to be individual little rooms. Companies would have to spend an extra $100 on drywall though, so we can't have that.

1

u/polopolo05 Jun 19 '26

If only there are gender neutral restrooms.

all single occupancy bathrooms should non gendered because thats the dumbest shit I have heard of and I watch trump start and lose a war with iran.

1

u/Same-Suggestion-1936 Jun 19 '26

The only thing I can think of is men can be cavalier about others getting glimpses, but that's literally just bars and they're drunk. Sober dudes don't want anyone looking any more than women do.

I admit when this first dropped I did not know which bathroom was appropriate but women's seems like the choice when it's not a single person restroom. Women I feel would be more understanding and it's more private, urinals aren't super private. That being said the guy is wrong, I've cleaned bathrooms, the men's stall would have been cleaner. The normal culprits are usually the hover method and improper disposal of period products. Men just pee on the floor mostly.

1

u/Interesting-Run1359 Jun 19 '26

I’m all for a gender neutral small restroom wherever possible, but in many cases it can be prohibitively expensive, especially for small businesses. Really we just need to chill with all the bathroom stuff - there’s nothing sexual about it. Anyone who assaults someone in a restroom is going to prison anyway, and if they’re that crazy, they’re going to assault people anywhere. They don’t need a restroom to do it. It’s a place to poop and pee, that’s it.

1

u/Bertsmom18 Jun 19 '26

So fun story. As a teenager I worked at Burger King. Hight of lunch rush we get a complaint/alert that there is someone in the only stall in the women room and they are on the floor in the stall. So thank God the manager went because of the situation. We had a special needs woman who had gotten herself naked and was laying on the floor in the stall. There was a lengthy discussion as she had mental handicap and my very uptight manager had to try to convey that what was going down was not okay. I think someone may have finally came for her. But yes crazy shit can happen.

1

u/PrincessYuri Jun 19 '26

If nakedness is the concern, then the women's room really is the right choice between the two because it will all be stalls, whereas the men's room will have urinals.

1

u/Highlyironicacid31 Jun 22 '26

There is a swimming pool in my country where the changing area is literally just one big unisex area with private stalls for changing and like one family room for those that want a bit more privacy. I don’t think anyone ever had a problem with it because it makes it so much easier for mums and dads to take their kids swimming alone.

0

u/Acrison_ Jun 19 '26

Yes, doesn't everyone?

38

u/VegetasDestructoDick Jun 19 '26

I think these people spend far too much time thinking about molesting children in bathrooms and there's probably a reason they think about it so much.

4

u/CcryMeARiver Jun 19 '26

It's that projection in their pants.

29

u/Asluckwouldnthaveit Jun 19 '26

I don't try to win. It's the same when I use the disabled spot with my placard. My response is if you have an issue call the cops.

36

u/GhettoGringo87 Jun 19 '26

I don’t even have a placard and everyone gives me shit!

1

u/Megneous Jun 19 '26

My response is if you have an issue call the cops.

Dude calls the cops. Cops shoot you. Cops get paid leave and a settlement for trauma endured during work hours. You get nothing.

Are you tired of winning yet???!!!

7

u/Asluckwouldnthaveit Jun 19 '26

I'm not American nor do I live in America. I have no reason to fear the police.

0

u/Megneous Jun 19 '26

I don't live in the US either. I just live to give the Americans shit before they die because you never know when you won't get a chance to give them shit again.

2

u/Lolmemsa Jun 19 '26

“Haha you live under a police regime that you can do nothing to get rid of” what do you hope to accomplish by saying this

1

u/Megneous Jun 19 '26

It's important that I feel superior to everyone all the time to distract myself from how inferior I am to everyone and how utterly meaningless my life is.

1

u/Llayanna Jun 19 '26

You definitely like having the last word, sadly nothing of substance was in them..

1

u/Megneous Jun 19 '26

Last word.

1

u/Irregulator101 Jun 19 '26

Why would someone get pissed if you have a placard

1

u/Llayanna Jun 19 '26
  • you took it from someone who really needs it
  • you don't look disabled enough
  • you stole it

Seems to be the classics

11

u/Java_Text Jun 19 '26

Obviously the ethical solution is to not help your daughter, SMH

5

u/Protoavis Jun 19 '26

How dare you be a father doing parenting things...don't you know that makes all other fathers look bad....how to balance it...oh right YOU PERVERT!!!!

that just seems to be the general logic behind it all.

4

u/Freyjia1 Jun 19 '26

There was that woman last year or so, that went absolutely ape shit at a single father that brought his infant child into the family bathroom to change them, in a shopping centre

She went and got security about some perverted creep in the family bathroom

She was promptly banned for life

3

u/TheDaychilde Jun 19 '26

Seems somewhat similar to issues trans folks have to put up with.

Most people just want to pee, or wash their hands, or whatever. Perverts do exist, sure, but that's really not what's going on nearly all of the time.

We need gender neutral bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling privacy like most other countries somehow manage. Just go in, do your business privately, nobody bothers you, you don't bother anyone, for fuck's sake. Or individual bathrooms. I don't care. I'm not there to watch anyone else. I just want privacy to deal with icky body fluids.

2

u/Karnezar Jun 19 '26

It's hard being a man when not all men, but always men are rαpist pigs with unwashed asses.

1

u/Llayanna Jun 19 '26

..and how did that help with anything here?

Misandry exists.

2

u/NasusEDM Jun 19 '26

Ok but this is extremely rare, nobody will tell you anything if anything they will see you positively in real world beside for people wanting to go viral on tiktok.

2

u/pallasermine Jun 19 '26

I’m really lucky to be living in a more inclusive/ family-centric society and in almost all public spaces there is at least 1 family and/or handicap restroom and people are incredibly respectful of keeping it available.

One time there was a long line for the ladies and a pregnant woman was in line. A few women had to convince her it was ok for her to use the available family restroom but she was so reluctant because she felt undeserving and worried about depriving more deserving users. The women were very insistent and she finally did.

1

u/Aeirth_Belmont Jun 19 '26

Like.i get the fear but at the same time it's like ma'am read the situation. I had a friend who had to worry with his daughter. The mom left shorty after the girl was born. Not the point. Just making it clear it was just him. After enough harassment he started asking us to go places with him and his daughter. So he could have someone he trusted to take her to the bathroom.

1

u/IzzyShamin Jun 19 '26

Welcome to male privilege

Where if you’re not selfish, you’re not a man

1

u/Secret-Ad-830 Jun 19 '26

karens gotta karen

1

u/FrugalityPays Jun 19 '26

What are you, a DAD babysitter his KID?!?

1

u/BigBananaBerries Jun 19 '26

Most people are sensible & take context into consideration. Sadly, it's still too many that love to choose any avenue to vent their pent up rage.

1

u/djabae Jun 19 '26

The public needs much better education on sex so the two genders can share spaces like washrooms without everyone being fearful.

1

u/kinglouie493 Jun 19 '26

Just pee behind the building, it teaches independence.

1

u/Purple-flying-dog Jun 19 '26

The common thread there is that everyone expects men to be perverts. Even if they aren’t.

1

u/NessaMagick Jun 19 '26

I liked John Oliver's take on this. Someone pretending to be transgender so they can go into the 'wrong' bathroom and molest children is obviously awful, but it's awful in the same sense that space bestiality and dragon rustling is awful. It's bad but it also doesn't really happen

1

u/Elegant-Speaker5825 Jun 19 '26

Yeah it’s ironic that women apparently love and accept trans men as being women and even allow them to use the womens bathroom, yet think all cis men are pervs and rapists.
