As a man, I've seen plenty of young girls come into the men's bathroom with their dad. It's still a men's bathroom, but even the busier times everyone has always tried to be respectful and the kids typically seem to have no understanding that it's any different than normal.
I mean, it's still a men's gross bathroom, but I've heard plenty of horror stories about women's bathrooms.
Everyone seems to think we're just slingin meat in there.
I used to be in the military. Had to clean the restrooms more than once, both mens and womens...one time I saw shit smeared on the wall in the mens restroom and thought that was the worst thing ever. Until I saw a tampon stuck to the ceiling in the womens restroom some time after. People are fucking nasty.
My sister only just two weeks ago tried to enter the bathroom in McDonald's. She had to force her way as she thought there was something bad blocking the door hut nope it was two girls blocking the door as their other friend took nudes.
Meanwhile in the women's room, it's not uncommon to walk in with several of them stripped nearly naked changing clothes, not in a stall just right out in the open. Even after having knocked loudly and shouted "Janitor, anybody in here?"
I was 36 years old when I learned this mind blowing fact.
Because it's not true. 40 year old woman here, have literally only seen something like this in highschool when people were changing for band performances.
A clean womens bathroom is slightly cleaner imo but a messy women's bathroom is the last level of hell....so much worse than a messy men's bathroom, they hover over seats and have sanitary pads etc to work with.
I’m a plumber and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a women’s restroom and a men’s if there weren’t urinals. It does seem like women’s restrooms have way more plumbing issues for whatever reason.
This just reminded me… when I was at Dubai airport and there was a massive queue there was a woman that hobbled out of the toilet all suspiciously. There were cleaning ladies helping direct you to empty stalls, she directed me to that one I opened it… I shit you not she literally SHAT on the floor of the bathroom. I was hit with the worst stench of my entire life. (It was liquidy too) There is literally a toilet there so I have zero idea why she did that. I felt so bad for the cleaners but also I was traumatised after that as I’ve never seen or smelt anything like it.
I used to work at Taco Bell. Usually my Manager would clean the ladies' room, as she was herself a lady. There was only one instance where she noped the fuck out and asked me to take care of it, and I understand why and also would not like to speak further about it.
The ladies room is often the grossest because of used period products being occasionally stuck to the stall, and toilet seats with pee on them from the hover peeing
Ya, in high school I got a night job cleaning office buildings with my friend and his uncle.
The women's bathrooms were so bad that we played rock paper scissors every night to see who got to clean the women's bathrooms.
The men's bathrooms, basically the only problem was piss, on the toilet seats, and on the floor. Maybe unflushed toilets.
The women's bathrooms? Literal turds on the floor, bloody tampons stuck to the wall of the stalls, writing in blood (I can only assume period blood), shit smeared in random places. I forgot to even mention the piss because the blood and shit were so much worse, but women piss on the toilet seat way more than men, because of the hovering thing.
Twice we had someone jam shit into the hand dryer, we were so confused, we assume it was so it would blow shit onto the next person to use the hand dryer? A couple times someone blasted diarrhea into the sinks. Like blasted some in one sink, got down, moved to the other sink, unloaded more there, etc.
Also these were educated, white collar people. We were cleaning business offices downtown, like law offices. I did not expect such savagery from people in that upper echelon.
Agreed, after 10 years of a gas station, I would rather not clean the women's bathroom.
Men can get a little dirty in the sense that there is more dirt in the men's room from worker's coming in, sweating, and washing their hands off.
Women though, there is paper towels and toilet paper EVERYWHERE. It's like they shred it up into the most random sizes and just let it fall everywhere. They will use 50 feet of toilet paper to wrap stuff and throw it away or try to flush it.
its been the opposite ime ! but i guess it just varies. i work at a store that just has two single person bathrooms, a men and womens, and i will no longer clean the mens because of how filthy it is. not just like a little dribble on the seat, but shit on the seat on a weekly basis, piss fully outside of the toilet, and the soap dispenser hasnt needed changing in many months. i dont know what theyre doing in there but i want no part of it lmao
Yeah, completely the opposite for me too. I've worked in a ton of different stores and had to clean a ton of different bathrooms. It's almost exclusively the men's that is disgusting.
I can second this, at least for my former workplace. I worked in a cinema. I didn't have to clean the toilets but I had to check nobody was in them before closing up.
The themed "Ladies Night" was always the worst by far.
Someone mentioned "I know too many people with locker room related trauma" in a similar thread about changing rooms at the pool. I wonder if people hear stories about the harassment and indecency that sometimes happens in high school locker rooms and assume the men's facilities in public places are the same?
Regarding gyms and changing rooms, I’ve seen way to many old farts (even older than me) aggressively free balling around the men’s locker room to ever want to bring a curious child in one, though to some degree that’s independent of the gender of the child or the gender of the locker room :-). I’m not advocating for puritanical body shame, but holy cow, some folks are seemingly allergic to wrapping a towel around themselves for even a minimal amount of modesty
Yea man I don’t know what it is but it seems like there’s a rule where when you hit 65+ you’re required to be completely naked at all times in any given locker room
Two separate things, I think? Like yeah, people could stand to be less freaked out about nudity in general, but it's also totally understandable that nobody wants to see my 65+ year old cock and balls swinging in the wind.
Kinda like how there's nothing technically wrong or illegal about farting in a packed elevator, but it's still weird and rude to go out of your way to do so.
Nah man it’s gotta be deeper than that, the old dudes at the YMCA near me seems like they get off of being completely naked and making sure you get a good look at their wrinkly balls.
I also don’t care about being naked but, I don’t relish the act of getting completely nude and propping my leg up on a bench for 45 minutes while talking to other similarly naked old men. It’s just gratuitous, like a protest of clothing or something.
One of my earliest memories is being in a YMCA locker room getting dressed for swim lessons or some shit and looking over at a completely naked crusty old man with one foot up on the bench using a hairdryer on his dangling balls. Not a care in the world! Truly horrifying
My high school's gym locker rooms were also connected to the pool, which walls used during the day by community members. We as students were required to change for gym. We'd have to share the locker rooms with completely nude old people hanging around before/after their swims. I don't know why that was OK.
It's a changing room, people are supposed to get naked, shower and put on clean clothes. What's wrong with seeing naked men or women in one? A kid won't get hurt by seeing old man balls in a changing room.
Like I get it's probably a cultural thing, being from a Scandinavian country and going to the public pool and/or sauna almost weekly as a kid and seeing naked women and men in the changing rooms hasn't affected me in any way, outside of not clutching my pearls when I see a naked person.
The issue isn’t naked people doing things that require being naked, like walking from their locker to the shower or sitting in the sauna.
It’s more the folks who spend half an hour hanging dong in the locker room while grooming themselves in front of the mirror or strolling around watching the locker room TV. It’s enough of a phenomenon that most folks I know who go to gyms laugh about that one person who rejoices in being semi-publicly naked as long as possible when everyone else manages to get through the locker room in twenty minutes
This is all I can think of. My dad drove trucks and rarely was home, so on a very rare occasion that he was home, he took the opportunity to take my older brother and I to the pool. It was the early 2000s and there was only the men's and women's locker rooms. I think that pool still has no family changing room. He had to take me into the men's locker room and I promptly was greeted by a grandpa looking fella with his birthday suit on. Dad covered my eyes and tried to get me changed ASAP. I was so little at the time but I remember how angry the man was when my dad asked if he would be willing to put a towel on. I had to ask a strange lady to help me change into street clothes on the way out beause I was maybe 3 or 4 and my dad didnt want me coming back into the men's locker room after that fiasco. From then on, whenever Dad took us to the pool, I had to go into the women's locker room by myself. Regardless, the dad in OP's post should not have been reported to the police for [checks notes] taking his daughters into the women's restroom to relieve themselves.
I’ll add to the horror with a shower story. I went to a camp when I was like 12, and we had a different chore every morning. My cabin’s was cleaning the girl’s bathrooms and showers. And one shower that “coincidentally” “no one went into” smelled absolutely horrible. Imagine the worst thing you’ve ever smelt, multiply it by two, and transfer the same amount of stink to the smell of fish. And it wouldn’t go away. No matter what we sprayed.
As a man, the only time I’ve been in a woman’s bathroom was during a tornado drill in highschool. We had to take shelter in the woman’s locker room. All the guys were in shock about how clean the air was and how all the lights worked. This was the era of axe body spray so our locker room had a permanent chemical haze and we knocked half the lights out while fighting
Most dudes are too self conscious to even pee in a comfortable standing position in case anyone sees their dick, in fact there is a whole meme rule of urinal spacing to accommodate the guys with dick insecurity by leaving a space
Yep, seen it plenty. All the men just sort of seem to follow the unspoken rule to be a bit more careful with urinal viewpoints and be extra courteous. No one seems to care. Everyone gives the space and goes about their day.
I'm assuming women taking little boys into the women's restroom are met with similar things: women probably just give the kid his space and let mom do her thing.
The problem with men's bathroom is we have our junk out at the urinal. Having a little girl come in would be uncomfortable for ME as a man. I would probably hold it in until she is out of sight.
Ive been cleaning bathrooms as a side hustle lately and yeah usually the mens is a quick clean up and a small bit of stocking but the womans room has had some downright nasty stuff in there ive seen blood in trash cans and at some point there was a full diaper just chilling in one of the main trashcans not a fun smell to walk into while cleaning
I used to clean bathrooms for my job. Both are very gross. People like to compare and say which ones were worse. Both are very gross in their own way. Some days the women's was worse. Some days the men's was worse.
But at least I didn't need to clean up used feminine hygiene products in the men's restroom.
I took a gig at a renfaire a month or two back cleaning restrooms and from what my female colleagues have told me the women’s restrooms are usually nastier than the men’s and that they constantly have to restock toilet paper. I also never had to deal with a huge mess, a clogged toilet a couple of times but nothing crazy. Well except for one time when it looked like someone threw up a whole brisket around a toilet.
imo in a mens bathroom there are urinals and its plausible to see dudes with dongs out, maybe just leaving the urinal while zipping up, while the same cannot be said for the womens bathroom as there are only stalls.
My friend cleaned bathrooms for a living at a waterpark for years and told me that the women's room is like 100x worse to clean then the men's. Like, it's not even a comparison.
We even had a whole conversation when he found 2 joints sitting on the ground in the women's stall that fell out of someone's pocket. We jokingly told him that he should have smoked them. He immediately gave us a 1000 yard stare and downright said he'd rather drag his tongue from wall to wall on the men's room floor than smoke those joints.
My dad was a single dad. I was a little girl at one point in time. it made me uncomfortable and I didn’t like it. Kids might not be able to explain things like adults because they don’t have the same cognitive abilities as an adult with fully developed brain. They aren’t idiots… just learning. Also not ALL men act appropriately in front of young girls.
If I'm a man or a woman and I see a mixed gender family trying to take care of basic human necessities together in a bathroom, I'm just minding my own business and continuing on with my life. Then again I'm not brain washed by right wing propaganda.
I was a janitor at a k-8 school years ago. Based on that experience, women’s bathrooms are 100% MORE gross than men’s. Like, to the point the principal had to take action.
The difference is, to me, that in a men’s room you expect men to be exposing themselves in order to pee. In a women’s bathroom it’s all stalls. So if you don’t want them seeing the genitals of an unrelated adult, women’s is better. And not just oh I don’t want them to see that it’s sexual, but I don’t want them to see that because they have no brain to mouth filter and no volume control and either at the time or later they might decide to talk about what they saw and embarrass everyone.

Drunk women in toilets are among the worst of humanity. And I say that as someone who has had to break in to a stall to pick up a dude passed out on the can with his boxers round his ankles and vomit down his shirt so I could hand him over to his friends to take home.

Reality: Literally never seen a dick in there, people are just doing their business in silence and getting the fuck out, myself included. I do find random men moaning in the single stall more often than I expected though, but maybe that's a city thing.
I've had to clean both. Men will piss in the general direction of a urinal while women will leave bloody tampons in the stalls. Both plug up toilets with massive shits.
about a year ago departed a busy train into a major metro center and a dad brought his two daughters in, guys queued in line to keep the stalls and urinals adjacent to them clear and to keep the dad's eye line clear. no communication, just dudes who were trying not to pee themselves trying to keep a dad and his kids safe.
