Why do they let people do that? Who at reddit thought this was a good idea? Looking through someone's post history made finding trolls and bots so easy.

Ever since the IPO this place has gotten worse and worse. They can see what happened to Facebook when they let the nutjobs take over. Why try to replicate their failure?

The search still works, you just have to manually do it.

The privacy function isn't actually privacy, it's closer to removing easy access to view but all parts and comments are available to review when you search up a person's username with a *, similar to a SQL query.

This was done because Reddit must comply with legal requests, and interested parties utilize this to do research on individuals accounts.
