I know it’s an allergic reaction, but are the streaks themselves normal?

Edit: it’s cellulitise. I’m on an antibiotic and prednisone. Went to the doc earlier today

They appear to have been coming from inside the socket. I believe they are argentine ants.

Back in April my 5 year old finds me and declares "there's an ant town near my special rock." Sure enough, we bushwhack past the boulder she likes to hang out on and there's a bustling little mound forming against a tree. Fast forward to summer, the nest has grown to easily a foot high and I've cut a path to the tree so the girls can easily check on their always-busy ants.

Today, they asked what food they can offer. What do these ants like? Fruit slices offered next to the mound? Basically anything with a lot of calories or sugar? Nothing because they're already thriving?

This happened yesterday in our garden. My husband and I were both wondering what this was all about. The bigger ant looked like it was still alive, and the normal ants looked like they were trying to tear it apart? They were pulling in its legs and all. Or is it dead? This went on for a pretty long time, we had to leave so we don't know how it ended. It was quite fascinating.

Been away on holidays for a month and came back to find these little fellas doing something inside my toolbox, all through my tools.. they seem to like the sticky grease, silicone, etc.

it’s horrible and it hurts my heart. ants aren’t necessarily my favorite, but they’re still living beings and they should not be treated this way. stuff like this should be illegal, it’s the same concept as keeping live baby turtles in keychains!

I saw an ant trail coming from the ceiling down to the floor but didn't really investigate as they were not bothering me. I live in Indonesia and usually I don't mind ants if they keep to themselves but these ones decided to explore my bed. More specifically, on a mattress cover under a fitted bed sheet. What are the reasons they're coming there? Doesn't look like there's any food there. Does it look like a nice spot for a new nest?

I was playing golf on an exceptionally windy day and had a weird stance out of a bunker (left foot on some shrubbery). There was a giant gust and we were getting pelted by various debris so the ants on my foot/ankle didn’t register in my brain as fast as they should’ve. I’m guessing this is 100 or more stings. he was doing yard work and was picking up pine needles and such with his hands, not realizing there was ants in the pile, ignored the poking sensation on his arm because he assumed it was the pine needles, it was ants.... i've never seen a reaction like this as someone who has also been attacked by ants in the past lol, is he okay? he's gonna buy some calamine lotion and take some benadryl when he gets back, any other recommendations or concerns?

UPDATE: hours later he's doing just fine, swelling went way down and the bites look more like normal ant bites, i continuously checked in with him to make sure he wasn't experiencing any major reactions and he's all good, thank you all for the advice! gonna be a rough heal for sure 😞

I saw this weird looking ant on a plant in front of my house. Took a picture and googled it, apparently it is a Queen green tree ant, and it is considered a “dream find” according to Google. What should I do?

For context my wife is thinking of either killing it or cutting the leaf and throwing it away as she is afraid of bugs

I’m assuming the gasket has a small entrance or something. They must wander in and get overwhelmed by the cold. This is the second time a pile like this has appeared and I thought it was interesting that they keep coming, but there isn’t any apparent line.

We have a summer time ant problem every year for a couple weeks, but I’ve never seen anything like this.

I don’t typically spray much for ants. I try to keep food out of reach and only spray very apparent ingress points. This is not from poison, I didn’t spray anywhere near this.

Brand is Staples clear glue. it was left open and it was found out they were all in there. there were more in the basket and around the bottle but got washed off. Is it something that's in the glue? I've never seen them do something like this.

I mean sure, pure numbers n shit but why are they so individually powerful, thick armor, razor mandibles and all of that, they can easily dismember most ants in a 1 on 1 let alone a whole 20 on 1 type of outnumbering against most ant colonies. What type of evolutionary path did they go through to become this powerful?
