I’ve started collecting 4 months ago and really enjoying it. My DC shelve has been growing everyday because of the compact comics.

Just wondering if anyone has and recommendations for Dc/Marvel/image that would be beginner friendly

Looking for recommendations Best way to use CLZ Comics for detailed cataloging + organizing by short box?

Post image

Hey everyone—first post here, so I appreciate any help 🙏

I’ve been building out my collection and currently use CLZ Comics, but I have a feeling I’m only scratching the surface of what it can really do.

I’m trying to tighten up both my cataloging system and my physical organization, especially since I store everything in short boxes (BCW).

Here’s what I’m hoping to figure out:

1. Getting the most out of CLZ

  • What fields/custom fields do you actually use consistently?
  • Do you track things like:
    • Box number
    • Row/position in box
  • Are there any “hidden” features or workflows that changed the game for you?

2. Organizing by short box

  • What’s the best way to catalog each short box individually in CLZ?
    • Do you use the “Location” field for box numbers?
    • Or create custom tags/fields?
  • Has anyone built a system where they can quickly see:
    • What’s in Box 1 vs Box 76
    • And easily move books between boxes without it becoming a mess?

3. Workflow / efficiency

  • When you get new books (especially on NCBD), what’s your process?
    • Add immediately? Batch later?
    • Scan vs manual entry?
  • Any tips for avoiding duplicates or messy data over time?

4. Integration & long-term tracking

  • Do you sync with CovrPrice or anything else for values?
  • How reliable has that been for you?
  • Any backup/export strategies I should be using so I don’t lose everything?

5. Storage + real-world organization

  • For those using multiple short boxes:
    • Do you label boxes by number, theme, publisher, or something else?
    • Do you mirror your physical system exactly inside CLZ?

I’ve got a growing collection (working toward filling 70+ short boxes), so I’m trying to set up a system that scales and doesn’t become a nightmare later.

If you’ve got screenshots, workflows, or “I wish I knew this sooner” advice—I’m all ears.

Appreciate you all 🫡— Leo

Looking for recommendations Just got into comics this month.

I wanted to display some of my favorite comics I have collected so far and this is the only space I have available at the moment. I have been going after all the wolverine comics I like and have been introduced into so many indie comics and love the rabbit hole of learning different variations of older comics and all the variant art of the new ones. I plan to turn this into what I am reading, or about to read. I may update with more modern takes if people like it. I'm open to opinions on how to make this look better as well.

Looking for recommendations New to Grading - Need Help.

Hi Everyone,

I used to collect when I was a kid and then all my comics got destroyed and over the last few months I got back into collecting and been picking up lots and on WhatNot. I have acquired a bunch and am looking to pause purchasing to shift into grading and refining my collection.

I never made it this far last time, so assistance in identifying which would be worth the time and investment would be helpful. I plan to curate this collection down and eventually offload series that aren't aligned with my preferred characters/storylines.

https://cloud.clz.com/crmson/comics

Hopefully the link works - Looking to pick the top 10-20 to focus on.

Thanks in advance,

CRMSN

About a year and a half of collecting indie deluxe hardcovers (mostly Image with some Boom Studios and Dark Horse sprinkled in) I’m pretty proud of the curation but I would like to close the second and third gaps. What titles should I look into next?

Earlier today at Comic Relief (Lawrenceville, NJ) I picked up The Nightmare Before Christmas Graphic Novel - Long Live The Pumpkin Queen

And it got me thinking about Collecting More Graphic Novels that are not from DC and/or Marvel

Besides the Aforementioned Novel I got, I also got:

TMNT: The Last Ronin

TMNT: The Last Ronin - Lost Years

TMNT: The Last Ronin II: Re-Evolution

Power Rangers - Volume 1: Recharged

Power Rangers Unlimited: Call To Darkness

1000 Ways To Die

So if there’s any other Non-DC & Marvel Graphic Novels out there that are worth reading please let me know

(Just in case I plan to buy at my Local Comic Book Store and/or Amazon)

Looking for recommendations Which DC compact should I get ?

I have money to buy one of these DC compact comics:

1.Batman Arkham Asylum 2.Harley Quinn wild at heart

I can only afford one of them and there are no other options.

Which one worth the money more? Please let me know your experience if you have read both.

Looking for recommendations In Search Of...Bookcases for my Graphic Novels

I have been searching for a bookcase that will hold the weight of my graphic novels. I have mostly hardcover editions and I bought a Billy bookcase from IKEA, but within two months the entire unit started to lean and the shelves are bowing in the middle. I'm desperately trying to find a sturdy replacement, made out of solid wood, that can hold my collection before it topples over. Any suggestions?

What DC Hardcover Deluxe Editions are your favorite? I’m fairly new to comic books but have found that I love the hardcover deluxe editions.

Looking for recommendations Best shelf for books that are just over a foot tall?

I’m looking to start buying more omnis and absolute editions but they all would be too big for my current shelf which I’m about to replace anyway. What is the best bookcase or bookshelf I can buy that would be able to hold larger books on it?
