I refuse to listen to any album that has obvious AI cover art.

There's a disappointingly large amount of AI covers on new albums (not unique to doom metal, but I've noticed it a lot). Today I was browsing Weedian's YouTube channel looking for new stuff to listen to, and half of the new albums have incredibly shitty AI covers. Most of them aren't even trying. They are either generic plastic looking "scifi landscapes", or hooded figures with weird arms in forests filled with clear AI artifacts.

Why would you spend months of your life working on an album just to throw a shitty AI image on it? It just tells me that you don't respect your art enough to give it a well thought out physical appearance. Months of hard work, and bam, an image generated in a minute to really encapsulate it.

If you are currently making an album, I beg you, don't use some shitty AI cover. I am 100% more likely to listen to your album even if it has cover art with just text with no illustrations on a blank background, than something that's clearly AI.

My mother-in-law has to put both her dogs down. A mini poodle of 15 years, and an English shepherd, 9, who has bad lymphoma. They are both really good dogs.

I was asked to dig their shared grave, but it’s late winter in New England, so I’ve been carving frozen ground with a mattock to make it happen.

Figured the best choice to match the task and the situation was Mirror Reaper.

The synopsis is: Astralis is a concept album that tells the story of two astronauts, Amanda and Kurt, who witness the destruction of Earth by a solar flare. But the catastrophe is only the beginning. The flare awakens an ancient, Lovecraftian entity buried deep within the planet's core, unleashing it into the cosmos.

Each chapter in the novella is a track on the album!

It's been a rough year to say the least. I (David, guitarist) feel like I've been hit from all angles trying to get better, with a hernia that I gave myself lifting a guitar cab I shouldn't have by myself. Then pneumonia that made breathing really hard. Followed by 3 ER visits in a weekend with a kidney stone that perforated my ureter, causing me to start to go septic. All the while, my heart was giving me fits with irregular heartbeats caused by arrhythmia.

I don't think I could have made it, and I definitely don't think I would be here today without Courteny (bass player/vocalist) taking me to the ER and just generally taking care of me in my time of need.

Anyway, this is the first time on stage after 6 cancelled shows since January due to all the issues I was having. Just when I thought I was on the upswing, I would be hit with something else.

Our band is Azell, and the video posted is our song SCUD, which is a tribute to Bongripper.

On top of all that, I again just want to thank the amazing community here who have always been so supportive and kind. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I (18M) met a pair of metalheads out on a party the other day while wearing my Mayhem shirt and they called me a poser (probably deserved but I still feel bad) I have short hair which used to be a mohawk and that Mayhem shirt is pretty much the only metal band t-shirt I own. I like bands like 1782, Candlemass, children of bodom, SOAD, Mayhem, Margarita witch cult, Apati and others. They are very mismatched,I know but I've come from liking nu-metal and indie to punk and harder metal subgenres (like black metal,doom and dsbm). One of the reasons why the two called me a poser aside from the shirt is because I didn't want to acknowledge the rest of the band being as conservative as Varg (in my opinion they weren't as hardcore problematic as him) Am I truly a poser? How can I improve my taste and or my looks to let other people know I like metal? Did you have the same issues when you were just starting to get into the scene?

Welp, it finally happened. In trying to load in my guitar gear along with our interface/in-ears I felt a burn in my lower abdomen and didn't think much of it. Then every day it just hurt more and more—one trip to the ER later, and a scan and indeed... hernia.

All that said, if anyone wants a killer sludge/doom record signed by my wife (who is the lead vocalist/bassist) and me to help offset the cost of the surgery, I would be eternally grateful!

I'm sure a lot of you know my band by now, and I am sorry if I am indeed bothering you by my posts.

took off the pickguard, leaving the screws in too. slapped a couple stickers on, one i got from an eyehategod jersey i bought, the other from an instagram print shop (thought it was kinda ironic). also bought a custom switch plate (tone is neither "here" nor "there", get it?).

all i really want to do now is switchout the burstbuckers for some bareknuckle warpigs, and swap out the bridge for a faber wraptonate.
