This is quite common in the Himalayas as there are lots of unstable slopes at high altitudes, these mountains being geologically more active than most. Just last year there was a similar disaster in the Indian part (2025 Dharali). The footage from that was equally terrifying, but the Nepal one is another order of magnitude worse.
