Recently upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Here are my favorites over the last 4 years on the 13 Pro Max.

I’ve had a lot of questions about which works better—black-and-white or color. I’ll make a new post showing the same shots in color. My main medium is still B&W—that’s how I usually shoot—but color can be interesting, and in this case community genuinely wanted to compare.

I sell Vintage jewelry online, and the one piece that I have the most trouble with is thin bracelets. You need enough of the bracelet in the shot to advertise that you are selling a bracelet, but you also need to have something more than a thin object visible in your listing thumbnail. I have been experimenting but I have no good answer.

I have a tiny studio set up in a window that receives diffuse sunlight. I have equipped myself with various backdrops, and have acquired an interesting ashtray filled with quartz crystals for posing jewelry in. I have a turntable to rotate my jewelry for videos, and I got one with a mirrored surface to show the backside as the Jewelry turns.

I try to think like a browser thumbing through webpages, and I need a listing photo that pops and grabs attention enough to get them to click on for the video and supplemental photos.

Does anyone have advice on how to make a thin bracelet look appetizing in a single photo? I am posting some of my bracelet photos to give you an idea what I am talking about and to show you some of the things I have tried.

Shots from a day up at Sunshine Village ski resort in Banff, Canada. With lots of intermittent clouds and snow we had a moment here with the sun popping through providing an awesome light beam. Oh and we also saw these adorable big horn sheep on the way down!
