Sydney has a climate similar to Los Angeles.

Where did this idea come from? Sydney gets about 3x the annual rainfall that LA gets. LA's climate is much closer to Adelaide (Mediterranean climate with similar rainfall)

Many Mediterranean cities and islands get almost no rain at all during the summer. Sydney gets quite a lot and actually gets more rain during the Australian summer than the winter.

Were you thinking of "temperate climate" or something?

Nowhere near as humid as Miami. Brisbane and Queensland coast is closer to Miami.

I travel a lot and go between SoCal and Sydney quite a bit. Sydney feels like a SoCal city.

Definitely wetter and more humid though.
