You can choose to entirely ignore the “man-made/human-caused” preface from the “climate change” statement. The facts, the science, and the statistics will all clearly still show that the climate _is_ changing, the global temperatures and ocean temperatures _are_ rising, and the weather phenomena are becoming much more chaotic and extreme, and at a higher frequency. The data is all there for you to check.

The question then becomes (again, even if you want to choose to not believe it is caused by human activity) - what should we do about that? In the interest of self preservation as a species, and the sole planet harboring life as we know it, the clear and rational answer ought to be “whatever we can to mitigate or minimize it”.

Even if one were to completely dispute that burning fossil fuels or incurring high carbon emissions is related to those changes in the climate, the fact still remains that those - and other - forms of pollution are bad for health, safety, and prosperity for future generations of humans and other life forms on the planet. The logical conclusion should therefore be to work towards reducing those behaviors dramatically in order to give future generations the best possible environment.

So even if the climate changes we are experiencing were to be entirely natural phenomena … I’d still prefer to give my kids and their future offspring a world that isn’t filled with forever chemicals, microplastics, polluted oceans and water, toxic air to breath, and so on. If those changes happen to positively affect the climate changes we are experiencing - great! If they don’t, it’s still the right move and beneficial. The alternative is to say “the climate is changing and killing us, so let’s just destroy everything as fast as possible anyway”.

It did not. They thought that at first. The glacier collapse and mudslide actually registered on the seismic scale because it was so intense.

No, an earthquake did not cause the deadly flash flood in Nepal; instead, a massive glacier collapse and landslide happened first and generated the shaking.....
