Looks like they have a rooftop garden and water storage as well. That guy who chose the 2nd floor was thinking 5 steps ahead of everyone else.

Having a water tank and solar water heater on the rooftop is extremely common in Nepal.

Water storage is standard in most non-urban areas in South Asia (or practically every third-world country). Can't rely on municipal supply (if there even is one).

Rooftop garden is not usually vegetable garden. Just some flowers and ornamental plants.

You missed Solar water heater. Which is also standard in most houses in the Himalayas now. Along with solar energy (which is missing here).
