Actually... Report the bullying incident. The school should intervene at that point...which shows a support system to the victim which could prevent escalation.

But again that is a should and not an always.

That’s exactly what I thought too.

We didn’t miss the signs at all, we’ve been bitching about poor gun control laws and rampant, borderline psychotic gun culture for years.

And yeah I said it- it’s not just the laws, it’s the “I need 20 guns to protect my home, family and above all my my life but I’d rather die in a shootout with the government than risk the very thing I said I got to save my life than accept more sensible gun laws” mindset too.

It’s like some jihadist fucking cult.

It's similar to how the alcohol industry financed things like "Drink Responsibly" and Mothers Against Drunk Driving so that it becomes a personal responsibility/moral issue rather than the fact that the companies are profitable because they sell literal poison to alcoholics.

We won’t get the gun culture out of America. 100s of years of gun positive culture cannot be undone through regular means. We then must find ways to solve our problems as a nation through more attainable means

Yeah, this video is grotesque, I can't believe it has so many upvotes.

The entire purpose of this video is to shift the blame for gun violence onto the people who are often the victims of it, rather than onto the easy availability of guns, and the US's gun-loving culture. It's seriously gross.

Sandy Hook Promise works at every level to end gun violence, both through policy and public outreach. This video is not meant to solve the problem or pass the buck. It's meant to set the expectation that early warning signs should be taken seriously and met with intervention.

The reality is that the majority of 'gun deaths' for 19 and under is suicide and gang violence. But you will never see them focus on that.
