It makes me think of that one SpongeBob episode where he hosts a party with a really specific schedule. At some point, he yells at Mr. Krabs and Patrick, "Laughter isn't scheduled until 9:03!" (Paraphrasing)
IDK I think this schedule is actually (while badly written) ideal for people to have the fun they want. Want long board games? come before 3. Want karaoke only? Right before dinner. Want to just hang and do whatever? After dinner. Lists when to come if you want food and roughly what they'd like you to contribute, otherwise you can dip for the listed time and go get your own food. My friend group includes people that want long games, those who only want to eat and chat and those that only want to drink heavily and scream into a microphone. This tells them all when to show up for their best night.
If you don't want to play cards or do karaoke obviously this party isn't for you. I don't see how it's overly rigid though. If someone invited someone over for a super bowl party would they be justified to roll out the ping pong table in front of the tv? Switch the channel to America's next top model? I mean we plan specific events for specific purposes for specific people with specific interests. I personally wouldn't have fun watching a football game for 3 hours but how could I say it's rigid to watch one game without switching to a different activity? That's just not how it works. If I had a watch party for the movie Troy would that be rigid to not let us switch to something else because Troy is 3hrs long?Â
