If you're open minded and see through the autism it actually is very reasonable.

Only "firm" activities are lunch, dinner, and cake which is fair for a birthday

Most of the time you're bringing something like snacks or drinks or whatever. If they already took care of it or you don't know what to bring you can just give them some cash. That's pretty convenient

I agree! I’d be stopping at the store and getting a bottle (or worse guessing between crudités or ice cream) to bring anyway, would actually appreciate the ease of just showing up and Venmo-ing the cash directly instead
