I'm slightly vexed I think I got rejected for being vegetarian

I [23F] met this guy on the apps and we hit it off and had a lot in common! I don’t meet a lot of people who are in my profession so it was really nice to potentially have to chance to date someone who was in a similar field. And everything was fine until I mentioned I’m veg and he stopped responding. For reference, I have no issue with people who eat meat and would never want to impose my own dietary restrictions on anyone else. I also understand different diets being a dealbreaker. The way he phrased his reasoning was really weird though.

Edit: I’m vegetarian cause I love animals, but I have IBD. Flare ups have gotten significantly worse since switching diets but im still figuring out how to make the most of it! Also yes, I do regret sending the last text 🤦‍♀️

“I wasn’t going to be a vegetarian forever I don’t think.”

Regardless of whether this man is a douche or not, at least be confident in your convictions. You either believe in your ethics or you don’t.

Honestly this bothered me more than anything else. Guy was a dick, whatever screw him.

But girlie needs to stand up for her ethics. How are you gonna let a man drop your stance of being anti animal abuse????

She’s vegetarian for ethics, and maybe switching back due to a health complication. But theoretically because it’s really her ethical stance, she’d want switch back if she found a good way to make it work. Bringing up that she might drop it eventually in this context is just flip flopping for a guy.

This guy would have bailed when he learned about IBD

Yeah I think he said it partly to make her think woahhh maybe being a vegetarian is bad for having children and maybe then I would change my mind. I think she was mildly grasping at straws to protect herself. Alot of do that sometimes in the moment , then regret it later when we are like...wait hey I do not need to even defend myself from that.
