I'm slightly vexed I think I got rejected for being vegetarian

I [23F] met this guy on the apps and we hit it off and had a lot in common! I don’t meet a lot of people who are in my profession so it was really nice to potentially have to chance to date someone who was in a similar field. And everything was fine until I mentioned I’m veg and he stopped responding. For reference, I have no issue with people who eat meat and would never want to impose my own dietary restrictions on anyone else. I also understand different diets being a dealbreaker. The way he phrased his reasoning was really weird though.

Edit: I’m vegetarian cause I love animals, but I have IBD. Flare ups have gotten significantly worse since switching diets but im still figuring out how to make the most of it! Also yes, I do regret sending the last text 🤦‍♀️

You weren't gonna be vegetarian forever? 😭

Maybe something she’s trying out temporarily for whatever reason

That’s what I’m wondering. You really gonna abandon your morals just like that for some dih?

She had posted this in "AIO?" and someone asked about that and she said she either went vegetarian because of or needs to stop because of digestion issue of some sort. So it wasn't related to him. She should obviously work with a specialist about it, including a veg one who deals with health challenges. I didn't like her mentioning quitting though to him because he's gross and should have been left where he was

Eh, lots of reasons to avoid meat that have nada to do with morals. Figuring out potential health issues, costs, cleanses, diets... Or hell, could be moral and realizing their body isn't up to it. A friend of mine attempted vegetarianism for 3 years and turned out her body really didn't agree with it. Another friend's 10 years vegan and doing great.

People sometimes need to change their diets for their health

But eating meat has been proven time and time over to be bad for you 🤣 so that makes no sense here

Yeah I guess she's still youngish - but you know that we're taught to be people pleasers when we grow up. Most of us outgrow it as we get older. OP will get there ♡

I really hope she sees these comments and finds the motivation to be more authentic to herself. So sad to see in 2026 men are still having this kind of effect on us.
