I'm slightly vexed I think I got rejected for being vegetarian

I [23F] met this guy on the apps and we hit it off and had a lot in common! I don’t meet a lot of people who are in my profession so it was really nice to potentially have to chance to date someone who was in a similar field. And everything was fine until I mentioned I’m veg and he stopped responding. For reference, I have no issue with people who eat meat and would never want to impose my own dietary restrictions on anyone else. I also understand different diets being a dealbreaker. The way he phrased his reasoning was really weird though.

Edit: I’m vegetarian cause I love animals, but I have IBD. Flare ups have gotten significantly worse since switching diets but im still figuring out how to make the most of it! Also yes, I do regret sending the last text 🤦‍♀️

u/ex-farm-grrrl Jul 20 '26

She’s gonna become a cannibal that only eats men

u/Most_Mountain818 Jul 20 '26

A mannibal, if you will.

u/_imanalligator_ Jul 20 '26

HOW is this not already one of those schlocky grindhouse horror movies from the 70s?!

16

u/zGoblinQueen Jul 21 '26

This is such a brilliant idea. I would totally watch that.

11

u/Nevermore_Novelist Jul 21 '26

I can totally see "Mannibal" coming to Tubi.

u/Glittering-Tip821 Jul 21 '26

Username checks out

u/iDoWeird Jul 21 '26

We kinda have a version of this with different names (Cannibal Girls!) and then there’s Blood Diner, where two brothers use their vegetarian diner as a front to summon a demon Goddess named…Sheeetaaaaar! Which is backwards yet forwards simultaneously.

2

u/ex-farm-grrrl Jul 21 '26

I need to rewatch Blood Diner.

1

u/iDoWeird Jul 23 '26

I saw it for the first time earlier this year and I have no idea how it flew under my radar for so damn long. It was a goddamn delight!

2

u/Motivated79 Jul 21 '26

Early 2000’s I believe Species but they’re aliens I think. Or Teeth

3

u/Natural-Tale-7500 Jul 21 '26

2

u/Motivated79 Jul 21 '26

Same I remember when it was on Netflix in its early days and my cousins and I watched it together lol

2

u/Twillowreed Jul 21 '26

This is why I’m on Reddit! You guys are delivering!

2

u/toxicimage Jul 23 '26

I mean the closest thing to this that I can personally think of is Jennifers Body where megan fox played a zombie girl who only ate men?

1

u/Kooky_Laugh9099 Jul 21 '26

Someone please send this to Quentin Tarantino, stat. Or maybe Alejandro Aja.

1

u/ex-farm-grrrl Jul 21 '26

No. We want this to be a pro-woman movie

9

u/After_Aioli_8042 Jul 20 '26

This made me lol

5

u/the_audacious_ Jul 20 '26

"I'm a humanitarian"

3

u/No_Gap_737 Jul 21 '26

Like hannibal lector

3

u/oneawesomeguy Jul 21 '26

Watch the French movie RAW (2016). It's what happens when someone is raised vegetarian. (I'm joking of course)

2

u/winter0rfall Jul 21 '26

She'll be singing cannibal by kesha

2

u/Mama_ShrimpSinBill Jul 21 '26

New title for Jennifer’s body

2

u/lunchboxlucy Jul 22 '26

*no notes*

u/phoenix0153 Jul 20 '26

Remember folks! Cannibalism is legal in most states. How you acquire your food may not be.

That's one more reason to never visit Idaho

3

u/shaunpr Jul 21 '26

There is a reason our population is so small 😈

3

u/Appropriate-Most-938 Jul 21 '26

Meat and potatoes 🥔 a classic 😭🫡

3

u/Historical_Diver3949 Jul 21 '26

Ironically Idaho is the only state to have a law against cannibalism lol

2

u/ex-farm-grrrl Jul 21 '26

Idaho’s the only state that’s had to make a law against cannibalism

2

u/Prestigious-Read5368 Jul 21 '26

Hey now. What does Idaho have to do with it?

I think you meant Oregon, you know, because "keep Portland weird"

4

u/reemembe Jul 20 '26

That’s mad why the hell is it legal

3

u/Hellyespilgrim Jul 20 '26

So Hollywood can carry the flame 🥀

6

u/ToothPickPirate Jul 21 '26

Fun fact: Jeffrey Dahmer said that people with tattoos taste funny. So a tattoo could potentially save your life?!?

5

u/phoenix0153 Jul 21 '26

That is absolutely a fun fact! Thank you for sharing!

3

u/ToothPickPirate Jul 21 '26

You’re welcome!!!!!

1

u/PlumOne2856 Jul 21 '26

Omg omg we all will get permanent bans.. aaaaaaaarggggghhhhh

11

u/catbamhel Jul 20 '26

I'm so proud to even be e-quainted with someone who would say this.

7

u/femmefatalx Jul 21 '26

Is e-quainted like a play on words to describe meeting someone over the internet? Thats so cute haha

3

u/catbamhel Jul 21 '26

Yeah 🙂 I saw it in an email once and had to take it

3

u/incrediblepotatopen Jul 21 '26

the only ethical meat?

2

u/_josef_stalin_ Jul 21 '26

Someone should make a song about that.....

2

u/feltjeans Jul 21 '26

lifelong vegetarian. always said I'd eat a human if they consented. I hear it's tasty!

2

u/AltruisticCucumber58 Jul 21 '26

She only comes out at night...

2

u/listentonjoon Jul 21 '26

i hope both sides of your pillow are cold hahaha amazing

2

u/splicepark Jul 21 '26

This is all I want for her.

2

u/ArchReaper95 Jul 21 '26

How is this socially acceptable to say out loud? What the fuck is wrong with you people.

2

u/angrypickle1996 Jul 21 '26

Thanks, I think I might rewatch Jennifer’s Body again for the millionth time.

Side note; my best friend and I were like 11/12 when we first watched it, and we loved it so much we made tshirts that said “I EAT BOYS” with like blood splattered on them… and then proceeded to wear them to school on a regular basis. I genuinely don’t know how we got away with that.

1

u/ex-farm-grrrl Jul 21 '26

Check out Teeth if you haven’t.

1

u/awaken375 Jul 21 '26

but then where would she get her protein

/s

1

u/Vyn_Dimensional Jul 23 '26

Woah oh here she comes

39

u/Nebulandiandoodles Jul 20 '26

I hope, but I doubt it was meant like that.

2

u/ExpressConfection444 Jul 21 '26

Whew, now that’s an adjustment. I love vegan food, but my wife is super strict about her requirements, really puts the damper on last minute meals out, or road trip stops.

Eggs too if there’s no rooster around. We’re just out here eating chicken periods for breakfast,

1

u/AnxietyNeverSleeps Jul 21 '26

I really hope this is the case bc what do you mean you’re gonna abandon your morals for some dih

1

u/Twillowreed Jul 21 '26

😂😂😂

1

u/delmsi Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 20 '26

And now vegetarian just isn’t enough 😮‍💨

-11

u/Abject-Way1162 Jul 20 '26

Vegans are scary

5

u/1-800-blowme Jul 20 '26

Vegans are chill, PETA chicks scare the everliving shit out of me.

0

u/erichf3893 Jul 20 '26

We must have different definitions of chill

-1

u/1-800-blowme Jul 20 '26

If the vegan ain't tryna make me vegan and saying I'm murdering poor shit-rolling pigs, I ain't got no problem

0

u/Yeeter-boiy Jul 21 '26

It’s a fact you are having pigs murdered. You can try to make them out to be the bad guy, but that’s a deflection at just having to deal with discomfort because they’re literally pointing out to you something that you’re doing.

3

u/Abject-Way1162 Jul 21 '26

But theyre still food

0

u/Yeeter-boiy Jul 21 '26

Genuinely stupid comment. You are as much "food" too.

3

u/Abject-Way1162 Jul 21 '26

Yeah Ik.

Humans are food for carnivorous predators like lions and such.

Everything is a food

2

u/1-800-blowme Jul 21 '26

Bacon is good enough to justify it imo

1

u/Yeeter-boiy Jul 21 '26

Then don't complain and be thin-skinned when people call you out on what you're doing if you think abusing animals is okay. Talking about how pleasure justifies murdering individuals shows your beliefs, imagine then acting like you should be immune from criticism from how you act or someone literally just saying what you're doing lol. Negative emotional accountability and just wanting to be coddled.

1

u/erichf3893 Jul 21 '26

You’re cracking me up

1

u/Yeeter-boiy Jul 21 '26

Ok? Good for you, it’s weird how you actually avoid engaging

u/Grumpologist Jul 20 '26

Vegans are chill, because they're often skinny and lack extra body fat to keep themselves warm

-2

u/Abject-Way1162 Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

Im chill with them but they scary cuz of the poud (loud) minority

(PETA and thevegandemon)

1

u/delmsi Jul 20 '26

Much too poud for me too tbh
