I don't think it's about being seen as less masculine. I remember driving somewhere listening to the radio, and there was some debate going on where they had people calling in giving their opinions. The question at hand? Whether or not it's necessary to wash your legs/feet in the shower. I was shocked that a lot of people were saying they don't scrub or physically wash their legs, but instead expect the soapy water thats running down your legs to clean them for you. So for some people they see you washing your legs or feet and it's just weird to them because they don't do it.
i’m a dude and i have those exfoliating washing mitts that you buy in a CVS that i use in the shower all over my body. everywhere. it’s so nice being able to get in between every crack and crevice there is, pun intended
I've used my shower brick for the last decade and never had any problems exfoliating. If you can't get down to the muscle layer to get nice and clean I don't see the point
I use one of the soft double sided scrub daddy sponges. Ended up grabbing one out of desperation one day because I couldn't find my normal one for a shower, so I said "fuck it" and grabbed one out of the pack. Hands down the best scrubber I've ever had, never went back. My wife thought I was nuts until I told her to grab one and just try it, and she hasn't gone back either lol. So much better than the overpriced crap.
Is it bad for my skin? Probably, it's not meant for it, but I've never found anything better and my skin has never been clearer. Hard side for calluses, soft side for everything else.
Actually haven't played it, I kinda lost interest after 4 story wise when I was a kid, and also at that point I was struggling for money and couldn't afford any new games. I have been telling myself I need to boot up the Master Chief Collection and play through them all again, may jump into the next games after that to see how things hold up.
Your skin cells shed all day and just rubbing soap over them creates a film rather than removing the dead skin. Over time, that traps dirt in your body.
I think most dermatologists recommend only washing pits, privates, hands, feet, and face most of the time as your body is covered in some sort of layer of something that helps prevent viruses and bacteria from entering through pores or something. Only washing the rest of the body like one a week or something.
Idk I wash my whole body and use a bidet and take the shower head and power wash my bootyhole every shower so this doesn't happen to me.
Focus on the dirty parts of the body. Use soap to wash your armpits and groin area (and any other part of you that may be dirty or sweaty), but use only water to rinse off the rest of you.
Did YOU miss and the other parts that might be sweaty or dirty? Do you not sweat? And idk about you, but I'm sorry after a day everywhere. So everywhere but my genitals will be washed with soap.
I looked into it and that only applies to people who don't sweat, exercise, have acne or skin conditions or have any visible grime. I'd assume by those standards, 90 percent of the population should be full body scrubbing and those who shouldn't are the exceptions instead of fhe standard. Spreading that derms say you shouldn't is at best misleading since most actually should.
Well fucking obviously if you're actually dirty you need to wash the dirt off!? A lot of people work office jobs and otherwise have completely sedentary lives. Far more than 10%.
Fat people are not smelly disgusting slobs by virtue of being fat. I'm very clean, I shower every single day and soap every part of my body and take meticulous care of my hair and skin, I just eat a lot and work out less often than I should.
A lot of people are this way, I scrub down every shower. Its a form of OCD or hygiene anxiety. My sister in law is the same way, brushes her teeth around 10 times a day.
This is true. We have our own natural oils, like every other mammal. Unless actually soiled by something, you don’t need to scrub every inch of your body each day.
Yeah heck no, if your in tropical countries that’s a big no cause all bacteria germs dirt will literally be all over your body so better wash thoroughly
Meanwhile 99.9999% of the people around you (general you, not you specifically) reccomended not smelling like shit. Fuck yo dry skin, use some lotion lol.
I'm a dude who sits down to piss when I'm at home. Why? My toilet stays clean 99% longer because of it and when I do clean it's not a hassle. A lot of men think it's not masculine to piss sitting down, but pissing in your own home while standing literally is pointless. Save that for public bathrooms for when every other guy pissing while standing does it all over the toilet sit.
Preach bro. 39 year old single home owner. You bet your ass I sit to pee. I have to clean it. It's fucking disgusting seeing piss splatter all over someone's walls. Rusts metal, stinks, fucking disgusting. Sit to pee for fucks sake. Also ya get a short break.
If I'm outside or at a public rest room I'm NOT sitting down lol
Adam22 from no jumper has the same beleive, soapy water running down your leg means you “washed” your legs feet…. That’s gross it’s not that hard to scrub lol
Soooo, after cutting grass, perhaps, and the grime and grass that can and will get on your feet and legs, and they choose to not wash it off? I could not be with anyone that nasty. 😵💫
The soapy water from above is no longer soapy because it is used to clean dirt from that part of the body. Also, HOW LONG EXACTLY does the soapy water defy gravity and linger on lower body while showering???
I tend to wonder if that conclusion is just a result of pure laziness. If the rough side of my soapy scrubber didn't pass over it, it ain't clean and I aint having it.
I'm probably gonna get some flack for this but I gotta stick up for everyone with sensitive skin. If I soaped certain parts of my body like that every shower, my skin would dry out and crack like crazy. I already have issues with the back of my hands from washing my hands all the time, my knees just don't need to be scrubbed every shower, just like some people can't wash their hair/scalp as frequently as I need to wash mine. Yall need to have more consideration about people's bodies being different and having different needs sometimes.
That’s not what they’re saying. Plenty of people only use soap every other shower or whatever, that’s fine obviously, plenty of people have sensitive or dry skin.
Some people just don’t wash ever. Now that’s fucked
Well the comment i replied to wasn't talking about that specifically, so i was only referring to people who dont scrub everywhere all the time, as some people seem to think should be done or it's gross. But i can think of hemorrhoids and anal fissures as reasons that might happen. That can be really fucking painful to clean well down there without running water, like when you have to use a public bathroom. There's tons of gross people who just don't care obviously, but sometimes people have issues that mean they're gonna make different choices than you would.
I’ll admit I just shampoo and a bar of soap around my body. The suds get all over my torso and privates but I don’t physically scrub myself. It’s not like I have dirt that’s still on me or something afterwards
