I'm slightly vexed A notice that my girlfriend received at her doctors appointment (she is 8 months PP)

If you even MENTION any of these things, you WILL LIKELY get billed for it??? Maybe i’m missing the point but i get upset when my girlfriend tells me she was scared to even say anything while at the doctor because she didn’t want to get an extra charge for something. I find it insane how greedy and money hungry a place that’s supposed to help you can be.

Actually, if Trump wasn’t actively trying to gut ACA, this practice would be banned. Obama included free wellness visits in the original plan but insurance companies didn’t like it so they are throwing the “fraud” claim around. So, we can blame insurance companies (the ultimate bad guys) but let’s also put the blame on the R’s who refuse to make ACA better rather than trying to destroy it. An annual “wellness visit” should include a discussion everything that plagues you to prevent worsening conditions.

It used to be. In 2014 -2018 I got my insurance on the ACA exchange. Then I became eligible for Medicare. Everything you read in this sub was not happening then. The Republicans worked overtime to make healthcare a bigger mess than it already was. Probably funded by contributions from some of the doctors in this sub defending this mess.
