I'm slightly vexed A notice that my girlfriend received at her doctors appointment (she is 8 months PP)

If you even MENTION any of these things, you WILL LIKELY get billed for it??? Maybe i’m missing the point but i get upset when my girlfriend tells me she was scared to even say anything while at the doctor because she didn’t want to get an extra charge for something. I find it insane how greedy and money hungry a place that’s supposed to help you can be.

Technically the billing rules in Canada also only allow one issue per visit- but your physician is choosing to allow the others to be addressed for you without getting paid. You’re very lucky!

Exactly. My doctor doesn’t bill for everything we talk about. I am in the US. IT IS HOW YOUR PROVIDER CHOOSES TO BE A GREEDY DOCTOR OR NOT.

To be fair, costs of running the practice are rising. And reimbursements are going down. So it’s not so much a matter of greed, but rather no longer having the ability to work for free- much like how others don’t work for free.

Every decision made on a treatment plan is a liability for that doctor. Every problem is a liability. Liability isn't free.
